The channel islands are part of the British Isles and are British Crown Dependencies but they are not English, or even strictly part of the United Kingdom. They each have their own independent Parliaments and laws. That aside, I'm a Brit who is proud to have them as family. Beautiful islands and beautiful people.
I think certain people who suffer from mental health issues could really find help in your videos. The way you seem to live your life, follow your passion and show lots of grattitude. When you push yourself like this, ordinary things can seem much more pleasurable. Keep up the amazing videos.
@@GB-yr1tc he definitely cheers me up as I've lost the ability to walk far after cancer, when I watch his videos I zone out and always feel like I'm with him on these epic adventures 😄
Couldn’t agree with this more, came across his videos a year ago and it inspired me to go to Madeira walking, with pretty much zero experience. Never looked back, going out into nature, travelling, and seeing new places really is the key to happiness
mate we are the same age and last year me and the boys decided to do a long ass walk in new quay wales down the coast and we all said it was one of the best days we've had at new quay (as we go every year) love that youre putting this stuff out, more people our age need to realise that theres more to enjoying yoursewlf than just getting wasted and clubbing
Thank you Liam, for putting together another excellent video for us. This can't be easy having to plan, organise, execute and film (with exceptional results) such a video. It's always a treat to see one of your videos pop up in my subscription list! Thank you 🙏
What a great advert for the Channel Islands this is Liam! 👍 I'm from and live in Guernsey, Shame you had bad weather while on our Island but hope you still enjoyed your time here.
Beautiful, thank you. I am older than you, but I also do long-distance walking and camping, and hope to carry on for a good few years yet! I really appreciate the fact that you do your best to stay positive, you don’t complain (there will always be blisters, aches, damp gear, wrong turns), and that there is no music because you let nature speak for itself. Thank you.
A-Haaaa....... Can't believe you're in my back yard, Jersey! It is beautiful & chilled, but like anywhere, once you've been here for a while it gets a bit........ Cabin fever-ish! I look at you guys in the UK with envious eyes, being able to just jump in the car or train and head-out to some wilderness, and hills! As you now know, Jersey doesn't have many (any) mountains or decent hills to climb...... And you can't escape people, at all!!! I could've taken you to some amazing bunker systems that not many people know of, there are quite a few surprises on the Island still. If you ever get to come over again, let me know, be happy to show you about. Nice upload. ATB
Well thanks for putting these two Islands on the map for me. I knew nothing about them, and now I see how beautiful and chilled they are, and a bit off the history thrown in too.
Had a couple of days off work and I’ve slowly made my way through a lot of your content and I absolutely love it! Really interesting stuff and quite relaxing to watch also! Looking forward to future stuff.
Great work Liam, thanks for taking us along. "20% of Jersey's population earn less than 22K PA...report also raises concerns about high accommodation costs and poor job security" BBC 2023. I understand that this is relatively similar to UK as a whole. Chanel Islands are well off to very well off, but still a good number struggle, including pensioners.
Can’t believe you visited Guernsey. It’s my stomping ground. If you ever come back, you must visit Herm, it’s one of the smaller islands and it’s like paradise in the summer :)
Right past where my family have an apartment (Gorey and the golf course near Mount Orgueil ). My grandparents had a farm and my mum grew up during the occupation. We love the place and get over whenever we can. The old towers are Martello Towers built to defend against Napoleon
I was in Jersey this past weekend to watch football. Due to the costs involved I decided to pack a tent, then wild camp and walk everywhere instead. What a great decision. It's thanks to watching videos like yours that I have been able to work up the confidence to give it a go. Cheers Liam.. Now then, its time to hit play and watch the video.
Beautiful and always worth the wait!! Healing from an achilles heel injury at the moment can't wait to start walking again. I'm living vicariously through you. Thank you💚
Thank you Liam, I love Jersey, Guernsey, Sark is my favourite, it has no cars, no street lights. So it's famous for seeing the stars. I've never been to any of the Channel Islands, but watched alot on UA-cam. My dream to visit. I really enjoyed your trip. Jersey butter is delicious.
excellent again! Thx 4 sharing, BTW! ;-) and as always, sometimes excellent spots just right next door.................I've traveld the world, but by the years I've learnd to look around the corners next to my home - amazing! Pls keep on! It's a kind of a short vacation to watch your vids on my little kitchen bench 🙂
Last December, I hiked one of the longest beach in the World, Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach. That time, I felt ultimate freedom & peace.Interact with locals , experienced fishermen's culture, local foods, living in tent.❤ Keep hiking brother.
Thanks for bringing us all along Liam. I just thought of another great island for you to walk around: Corfu. After watching the Durrells series, looks like just up your alley to explore.
For a minute I thought you were in my neck of the woods. We have Channel Islands off the coast of California too. Also with palm trees, but no German history. Another great video!
That was a pure pleasure to watch. The views!! I've read a few books about the Channels Islands during WWII. I think we need to definitely add to our "to visit" list.
Great one, could have popped in for a brew when u passed beaucette!! A visit to the smaller islands would be worth it in summer for sure, beaches in Herm are stunning, sark is awesome and Alderney full of WW2 history! Great video
Nice one Liam. I'm from Jersey, that gun emplacement you slept in on the first night at Rozel, was in the property that used to be owned by Alan Wicker (old school you tuber, original travel tv guy ha ha). You've done a great job filming the Island. Impressive. The second spot used to be all locked up, a bit of a shame to see it all vandalised now. Keep up the decent vlogs, appreciated.
Thank you Liam, your videos always inspire me to go out and want to visit the places where you’ve been. Your video about Mallorca actually inspired me to go there and hike a part of the GR221. Jersey and Guernsey now on the bucketlist!
This is awesome! I like to do long walks/cycles in Taiwan but here it’s just too hot during the day (got heat stroke yesterday !), so being able to see your adventures are amazing !
Since you're on a roll with the crown dependencies, I would highly recommend the Isle of Man. A number of lovely walking trails there; perhaps most the notable is Raad Ny Foillan, which does a complete loop of the IoM's coast.
Hey Liam love the videos, have you ever thought of coming over to the amazing isle of man I live there and it's an amazing place lots of walks 🇮🇲👍🏻 keep up the great work mate
Top video Liam I’ve been watching from the beginning mate the progress you have made is class you should be proud of yourself! Ha do you still have the van? Those vids were class back in the day
What an insane insane weather mate just like here in NZ where I'm wathcing from. Wish I can have time to go out and not stuck in uni all the time mate but your videos definitely bring me there while I'm staying until 2am on campus finishign stuff up. All the best mate
Liam well done with the video. Thanks for creating an inspiring guide to this coastal walk. It's unpretentious and you don't claim to have an in-depth knowledge of the places you pass through.

9:35 the animal you've seen in the bunker is a centipede of the genus Scutigera, very common in the Mediterranean countries.
