Thanks for sharing. I like visuals. When guys do their bag dumps and lay it all out and than go over it. Gives us the viewer better perspective and also when the gear is laid out that way we may spot something even a storage pouch. You could also do it how you are but that’s at the end have a slow camera sweep over the gear? Just a suggestion/ thought. Good stuff.
arcturus also makes a nice emergency blanket/ tarp that is reflective on one side and quite heavy duty. I think it makes for a great multi - purpose item. you can use it as a ground pad, a tarp over you, or roll up in it with a wool blanket like a sleeping big/ bivvy!
Dan, Just a note the Esbet fuel tabs don't last for long. I used to carry an Esbet stove and after 6 mos. I tried to light the fuel tabs and they would not burn. Being well sealed in their package they were a bust . I threw the Esbet in the trash. I have 3 Pathfinder cook kits and I use Pet Balls and my WAZOO fire cards for starting fire. I also carry Fat wood to start fires. Fire is life and death but necessary. I carry a 6 inch blade as my EDC. Of my 13 knives My EDC blades I have attached a pouch with a WorkPro multitool and my camping blades I have a pouch with Fat wood a striker and a ferro rod. One must account on which situation one is in.. I love your channel and your ideas. I used to carry an ESEE 6 but I have found Eathengrow knives in AUS 10 steel. I now have 3 ea. I prefer them to the ESEE. I have a line of Becker knives . A couple for EDC and a couple for camping and bushcraft.
Sounds like an excellent kit! I've since switched out my Esse knives for Architect Knives, as I got to give input into the knives. The 5.5 is my main carry. Interesting on the esbit fuel tabs. I've had a lot stored away for many years and they still burn excellent. I've got enough to last for probably a decade, lol!
Dan, you need to check out the WAZOO fire card. It is amazing. It starts with a ferro rod, lighter etc. It's the size of a credit card. You can shave it, cut it to a size enough and it burns like hell also it last quite awhile. They come in 4 packs and they are cheap on the wallet.
It was beautiful out that day, and today it's cold and stormy. Definitely unpredictable. I hope to get to spend some time exploring some of Utah in the future.
Question, what makes your pack a "Bushcraft" pack? I have a Voodoo Tactical Enhanced three day assault pack. So is it a Bushcraft pack? Or maybe my old Alice pack? I mean it carries every thing. I'm just curious. I used to backpack years ago. I still do day hikes, in the mountains of Colorado. I purchased the 48oz Pathfinder cup/pot. A really nice item.
Simply, it's the pack I carry my bushcraft gear in to camp out and practice traditional and modern bushcraft skills. Any pack you choose for this can be your bushcraft pack.
Thanks for sharing Dan. Hope you have a great day. 🇺🇲🔪🌲🔥
Ordered a granite gear 60 Lt. Grey man. Supposed to be one of the most comfortable made .Wife has never caught a fish. She loves the outdoors.
Nice! Good luck on that first fish for your wife! 🐟

Spring is actually my favorite time. I'm surrounded by baby rabbits, squirrels, etc. Really look forward to that each year.

Grandpa uses a waist pack for basic survival , and a light back for everything else . If I could I would pack it on a four wheeler . 😜

The mountains are looking great, Dan! 👍 You’re springtime sounds like ours in Utah-75 degrees today and then another snowstorm tomorrow. 😂

excellent points about layering clothing!
Thank you!
I wear Wrangler Relaxed fit, boot cut jeans. Lots of room. But cargo pants with the two extra pockets would be nice.

If you're bushcrafting, shouldn't your t-shirt say "bushman"? 😊
Lol! I'll have to look for one.
