these are pioneer premier 8102spl 15'' and pioneer premier 5102spl 12'' subwoofers made in 2006 . the 15'' is 92lbs and the 12'' is 76lbs !
I wish Pioneer would jump back into doing those again especially an updated version. Those hit really really hard from what I've seen. Back in the day they were straight up awesome. Great video thank you.

Gotta say i stumbled on this at random. I have never been much into pioneer. But i just finished installing my 1400NEX in my truck. & that thing sounds amazing. I definately like it better than my friends bose. Hooking up 2 15 inch squares tomorrow. Cant wait to hear it.

The general basket design is not that good. Could make the basket way better
I dont like how they put so much extra plastic/metal not sure what it is. Around the basket. I do how ever like how they spaced out the spiders
Nothing on these subs are plastic, the basket is one of the strongest baskets ever designed for a subwoofer, the basket actually holds the motor from ever shifting also unlike just bout every other basket made .
mazda2284 im not saying it isnt strong it just looks terrible
personally i think it looks awesome as well as adding the strength , the bottom plate is bolted to the bottom of the basket , the magnet slugs fit tight so they can not move and the top plate is also bolted to the baskets , only way to shift the motor is to break that beefy basket

@@mazda2284 Thank you for your response. I'm trying to figure out wether or not pioneer had any models in 1995 that had that same Gray Metallic Woofer Cone w/ Lil Ridges the ts w303f had. Would you happen to know. I googled the question but I haven't had any luck finding it out.

I'll stick with my aundown Z series. More power handling easily 6-8k RMS , more X Max for deeper bass, can take the abuse daily as I've beaten the Zv5 18" for over 3 years now. Havent heard no pioneer come close yet.

different subs for different applications. These were made specifically for one note burp SPL, which they were great at, these things were insanely loud and did some serious numbers back when they came out that still would hold up today. You wouldn't buy these for daily use, or any kind of musical application obviously. I agree with you, since I do have a pair of Xv3 12's that I absolutely love, but these subs were made for an entirely different purpose.
dude these subs were made before Aundown was even a wet dream ... and set records that took them over a decade to beat ... even with copying their technology and following behind them .

Not true at all ...I have a bunch of newer 300$ subs and while they are great compared to most 15 year old subwoofers , these are a whole nother story. There are some great subwoofers from the past 20 years that still to this day are worthy of competition at the highest level of today. Heck many 300$ subwoofers of today are modeled after the eclipse titanium , lots of tc sounds made stuff like LMS OR LMT , many other 300$ subs are based off the RE Audio MT , or FI BTL . I personally run 10 10" nvx vcw in my ram , 21" dc audio lvl 5 21 in my tahoe, 2 15" pioneers in my trailblazer, 2 oval Boston acoustics spg555 in the camaro , each system has a unique sound and you would love em all, Come get a demo
@@mazda2284 I don’t trust Pioneer from their track record. They cheap out on every turn. I stand by my comment that most $300 new subs will outperform these subwoofers. Nostalgia is cute, but technology doesn’t care about your feelings
@@johnviera3884 I was running 2 taramps smart 3s clamping 3150w each at 151.0db 38hz . Now smart 5s clamping 6270 each but haven't spl metered yet ... its nuts for sure 👍
@@johnviera3884 pioneer at the time they made this was making a statement, the headunits, amps , speakers , subs basically everything was done differently for the high end , they lost money on some of the high end products because they were so expensive to manufacture. I've done many videos about the decline of pioneer car audio and even showed the differences between all the generations and what was actually better or worse . Pioneer peaked in 2008 .
@@mazda2284 I remember Pioneers golden days. Panasonic, Onkyo, and Sony wiped the floor with them. Their head units were good. But still cheap and cutting corners on components. Their car amps were garbage. Car speakers were mediocre. I’ve never had respect for them, and they only went downhill from there. These subs might be the most impressive thing they’ve ever manufactured, that’s not impressive
