  • In this video, we talk about the York Heat Pumps lineup in 2024. We discuss their single stage, inverter systems, side discharge heat pump, as well as their multistage products. We discuss which York Heat Pumps qualify for the heat pump tax credits available through the inflation reduction act, as well as which systems are best for your climate. The truth is that not all heat pumps work great in cold climates, and even some of them don't do well in hotter climates like Phoenix and in this video we talk about which heat pumps will be best for your specific climate.

Hello, I just had a 3 TON 17SEER FLEX YORK HIGH EFFICIENCY ELECTRIC HEAT PUMP COMPLETE SYSTEM VARIABLE SPEED installed in my 1374sq foot home. I love the inverter outside because it’s so quiet especially being just outside my bedroom window. But, inside, the system is very loud. My return air vent is center of living room dining room and kitchen, so it’s right near my couch and like I said soooo loud. Is it too large for my home because it is more powerful. Another thing bothering me is the thermostat always says overcooling to dehumidify. The humidity is lingering around 64-72%. It feels muggy. The guys that installed it are coming out next week to check the loudness and humidity issues but I was wondering if you had any idea or suggestions of what to do or is wrong. Thank you!

Not as familiar with the York systems but yes the dehumidification settings probably just need to be adjusted, and as far as reducing the sound you can insulate the return with a duct liner that dampens sound a lot, and / or add another return somewhere so that the wind noise is a little lower

Ok thank you sir for your suggestions. I’ll try first with insulating the return air area. I appreciate your help very much and answering quickly!! 👍🏼🙏🏼

I’d like to learn more about the York HH8. It looks like the first R-454B system available from any manufacturer. Also appears it will qualify for the tax credit once certified in cold climates

Yes as they roll out I’ll get some more information on it.

I thought you sold Daikin/Amana and Bosch? York systems all I do is repair or replace. I would never buy a York versus a Daikin/Amana, Bryant Evolution/ICP ION, Bosch 20 SEER or Mitsubishi that qualify for rebates as a last choice.

We do sell Daikin, but some research and ask about other brands so I’m doing more head to head comparisons for all the brands since people are interested in the topic.

Curious why don’t you like York? I’ve never really installed or worked with them… heard their side discharge inverters don’t keep up in Phoenix because they derate but besides that just doing reviews

Why don’t you ever show the price. You lost everything down to the most minute specs except the price EVEN when you are showing the screen that shows Price range. And let’s not use the excuse of “it varies” or it’s dependent.” I’m assuming it’s because you’d rather not let possible buyers know the price you would have to pay

Lol uhh but it does vary from contractor to contractor, and area to area based on cost of living… I’ve seen companies charge 10k for a unit that another company charges 30k for. It just depends on their overhead and markup. When you get bids from 2-3 contractors you’ll have an idea what they go for in your marketplace. I had a subscriber from Wisconsin share a quote with us that was 12k for a system and they thought that was high, but our quote for that same system would have been closer to 18k. A company in Northern California (higher operational costs) might charge 30k, but median wages there are higher so it all balances out. Just get a couple quotes because it will vary from state to state that’s why I don’t get into price. I’m not trying to “hide” my price because guess what - can’t sell something without telling people the price. Also we’re not a York dealer this video was just a specs comparison for their various units because we’re starting to cover other manufacturers equipment in head to head comparisons based on all the requests we get. Hope that makes sense.

@@TheHVACDopeShow thanks for the answer which is about what I figured. My comment applied to all the videos as most people who watch these would at least want to know how the “heat pump technology” you are focused on compares to a more traditional gas furnace. I think by watching these videos consumers who are thinking about switching from whatever they have would have no idea heat pumps seem to be much more expensive … at least given what you just responded to me with. Also surprises me the cost given they seem like a much simpler system. Maybe a video where you do a couple examples of price and maybe how it’s not necessarily more expensive when you consider they do both AC and heating…. Just an idea as you have asked for suggestions. Wish they were more common in Indianapolis as our crews here have very little experience installing them and still downplay heat pumps Thanks again

The audio sounds terrible. You need a better microphone and slow down.

I listened to the audio and I see what you’re saying I think it’s something specific with this video because the dz9/carrier video doesn’t have the same error. Something in the recording…
