As much I love to see the director's cut, what are the chances of this movie to get that kind of treatment. For the people outside of the #RestoreTheMagic , they'll most likely brush this off, because "It's Thomas the fucking Tank Engine" or it'll be the equivalent of wanting the original unaltered Star Wars trilogy on Blu-Ray.
Investigating 'lost' Thomas media is a very deep bunny hole. It's been astonishing to see how the 'grit and edge' was washed out of the Thomas storytelling. And now the tension was removed from the stories it's now all about saving snowflakes. It's incredibly sad to witness.
Thomas is the only little kid show I can't help but go back an re watch sometimes. The main appeal for me comes from the sets. As a kid, I always fantasized about visiting a place Sodor. The CGI in the new episodes kind of takes away the main reason I loved the show so much.
similar to Thunderbirds. The new CGI show is good in its own ways (and it's not fully CGI; the sets themselves are real miniatures made by Weta Studios), but the lack of practical effects takes away some of the appeal of the original show
Sony gave freakin' _Ishtar_ a remastered director's cut blu-ray. Y'know, one of the biggest box-office bombs in history. I wonder why on earth they won't give Magic Railroad the same treatment.
Well.... Then mr conductor would be removed Burnett lily patch and every single thing that was in shining time would be REMOVED and why? Shining Time was not very popular among the UK
I think this movie got way more hate then it deserved. This movie took a while to do and the creators did their best, and worked with what they had. Infact this movie is my childhood. I watched it lots and lots growing up and I still do now. I’m sad that it didn’t take off as it should’ve, but I love it. Alcroft did her best. They should’ve left the movie the way it was . The movie would’ve been significantly better that way. I thank her very much for what she did and what everyone else did. The show definetly went significantly down hill after Season 5. Up until Season 18 where hit actually started caring(somewhat), the show was absolute shit.
i think the real question is, what made them think showing what is essentially a British film to US test audiences was a good idea? that one event Destroyed the Entire franchise for those who grew up with it... and One thing remains, thats for certian, HIT entertainment/ Mattel aren't making things any better
I remember that review. Ebert and Roper were going off on the fact Thomas and co's mouths didn't move. Watching 5 minutes of a TV series for research sake must've been too much for them.
I personally would absolutely love to have the directors cut of Thomas and the Magic Railroad release. I have signed so petitions to get the directors cut of Thomas and the Magic Railroad released. Maybe with their help we can get the directors cut of Thomas and the Magic Railroad release.
Me too! I loved this movie as a kid. I wore out the DVD from watching it so much. Not to mention the VHS tapes of the old show I would watch all the time too.
The only way I possibly see Britt getting her original copy back is lawyering up. Like you said, Sony has other intentions then reissuing a movie that's almost two decades old. From what I've read, the movie was intended to be quite longer. All the production company did was edit out the scenes that the one ONLY test crowd didn't like. It was supposed to be pretty deep too along with it just being a kids film. Hopefully one day before I die though... Lol
Did you know the voices for James and Percy also did Sailor Moon? James was voiced by Susan Roman (Sailor Jupiter) and Percy was voiced by Linda Ballantyne (Sailor Moon)
I hate the stigma that Americans hate British accents. You could argue that a British person's dialect is difficult to understand, depending on the inflections and clarity based on the area that person is from. however, you could make the same argument with dialect and accents from other regional backgrounds, e.g, southern, valley, etc. As long as the actors are speaking English and they speak it clearly, then what is the big deal?
YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but I feel that around Season 4 the quality dropped. Season 5 was okay for an action season of a kids show, and season 6 was okay, season 7 was okay again, but season 8?? AUFULL.
Donald and Douglas fan 10 I actually hold many fond memories of Season 4 because it was the one season I had almost completely on VHS when I was a kid, I actually would say it's one of the best seasons of the show in its entirety. Personally, I feel the quality dropped after Magic Railroad with the release of Season 6, it was still good but definitely a drop in quality. Season 7 was the exact same way especially in the U.S. with the later-series music and Michael Brandon as narrator (the worst narrator of the show ever in my opinion) and then came the abomination that was Season 8...
just a little heads up Diesel 10's russian accent wasn't done by Keith it was done by Neil Crone who was casted as Diesel 10 after Keith Scott's role was replaced. At first he tried a russian accent but due to responce he changed to the more new jersey accent heard in the final film otherwise you did some really good research here
Even though I’ve never watched anything Thomas related in my life, I would definitely watch this film in its original version should the director’s cut should it ever be released.
To be honest, I’m actually fine with the way the movie is. I prefer Diesel 10 over P.T. Boomer anyways. This is actually a VERY good movie (maybe even a great one). It’s an underrated gem. I frankly don‘t care what Rotten Tomatoes and the critics think. This movie does not suck and I wish a lot of people would agree with me (there are still MANY people who do, I just haven’t met any more of them yet). But I definitely agree. A Director’s cut would be awesome! Personally, I think that if they 1. Filled in the plot holes somehow, 2. Added some footage of and dialogue for Edward, Duck, Cranky, and George, 3. Fixed some of the movie’s obvious mistakes and goofs (but this is Thomas’ first movie ever after all, so we got to cut the film some slack), and 4. Extended and zoomed in to the scene where Patch and Lily are adults and are seen with kids near the end of the movie; then perhaps this Thomas and the Magic Railroad could be a masterpiece rather than just a gem. My opinions of course.
UltimateGaming KOG Well I appreciate it. Thank you. I actually rewatched the movie recently and didn’t noticed very much plot holes. Turns out there was only one plot hole in the film. The magical riddle Mr Conductor found near the windmill. The movie never tells us. So scratch my comment about the plot holes.
Regardless of how the movie turned out, I still thought it was a good film. Everyone has their own opinion, and we should all be respectful of that. But, in my opinion, even thought Allcroft was not able to execute the film exactly how she had envisioned, I believe that the amount of work she put into the movie did not go unacknowledged. She was still credited as the producer of the movie, and not only that, but she got to provide the voice of Lady. The fact that this was the first time she got the opportunity to voice one of the characters in the franchise that she created, at least to me, is a pretty big honor. But hey, all of this could just be my nostalgia talking, because I remember this movie from my childhood, and I still love it to this day. But regardless of how others feel about it, I will always love Thomas & the Magic Railroad.

I want to see Allcroft return to the series. No she NEEDS to return to the series. Ever since mattel announced the changes to the show for season 22 by cutting edward and henry from the main cast and replacing them with two female engines that scream Political Correctness and SJW/feminazi pandering the show needs to go back to it's roots and the only way to do that is by getting allcroft back. Screw the executives that forced allcroft to step down.

While I agree wholeheartedly with the director's cut being unshelved and released as a Blu-Ray Exclusives, the contractors of the property are in grave denial of ever releasing it; so, unless Gullane Entertainment; a now-defunct company can strike a deal, it'll be years before any real copy comes into tuition. Not to say its an impossible task, not at all, actually. It'll just be one of those overarching moments where a strenuous amount of time will have to be taken. Yes, its been twenty years and I think it's silly the movie hasn't seen a re-release or director's cut; the intensity of my hype all the more becoming strained as a result, Hell, I'm still bummed that the Splodge Models were lost. In all honesty; Mattel should buy out Sony; which being that Sony is a multi-media company, I think that negotiation would be a trainwreck. Do I think the movie is bad? Not at all, as a kid, I watched it extensive, I loved the humor, action, characters, I didn't even mind the occasional cringe with Baldwin. Sparkle Sparkle Sparkle will forever be an iconic line in my childhood. Do I think the movie is great? No, it's flawed looking back and definitely not a shining example of what made the original show so revolutionary but do I regard it as a piece of media that should remain in solitary confinement to collect dust? Damn, what a selfish question, of course not. Hans Zimmer's music still stands as some of the greatest music to come out of the franchise; besides the original tunes by Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell. I honestly think Awdry would lambast the execs if he were still alive, as would David Mitton, who I believe probably blamed the execs for the film's shabby reception. If the movie were to be made today; I would've made it a freelance project and stuck to their guns, maybe ask a company; say Paramount again, as their most recent trek with the Sonic Movie went very well. At the end of the day, Unless someone does something to help change the future, it's not gonna be released for a long while, which is sad. Good episode, btw
I actually saw the original test version you see I was born in 1997 an was an avid fan of Thomas and was one of the people who saw it yes I'm stepping out to say I saw it
@@valenzuelasstudios1838 the main difference is that Boomer was in it as well as the other cut characters but the story was mostly the same but it had the sort of subplot with P.T. trying to blow up Muffle mountain which once he does it we see the scene of Thomas rolling down the mountain and going into the magic railroad while boomer follows him, then the chase scene and then it ends the same way the movie we got, I know there was a scene of George daydreaming about the roller rink D10 said he would turn the turntable into one for him, d10 telling the trucks to crash an engine (I think it was Henry or Percy which came after the night engine song), D10 trying to get cranky in on his plan which cranky said he couldn't help because he couldn't go anywhere, some more scenes with boomer, some changed scenes and dialouge. That's mostly what I remember
I'm not sure if people know about this, but Eric, president of the now non-profit organization Restore the Magic wanted five thousand signatures in early February. However, since then very little progress has benn made. I was a part of the official group on Facebook, and was messaging people on the TTTE Wikia Fourms to get the word out. There was this one user who stated that "I wouldn't sign it due to it being too long and nothing happening." I respect his opinion, and I realize now that maybe there's little progress.I've spoken with the group and have openly expressed Restore the Magic to get the rights/release it themselves, but the response has been that they'd rather have Mattel do it. In my opinion, if Restore the Magic keeps waiting on signatures it probably will be a long time. To let everyone in on something, if you go to the Restore the Magic's website, click on the heading TATMRR Lost Edition, and scroll down until you reach the "Ready to Sign" section. Anyone can see the current total number of signatures, and it's not moving up too quickly. I'd say at best, on an average week, at leaset one to three signatures are added, based on the number slowly moving upwards. So I propose that fans do try communicating with Mattel, Sony, just anyone they feel would help. Yes, it goes against Restore the Magic's rule of not doing so, but I see it as if the organization keeps waiting on the fans/public, the dream might not come true, and I'm not going to wait anymore for others. I say, we go out and again, speak with companies, try to let them know/convince them to release it.
Spongebob is suffering the same thing with the third movie and camp coral. Difference is they did it without his awareness and knew he would hate it so they did it because of money
The reason why there wasn’t Railway Series Stories in Season 5 was because Season 5 was a Showcase for Magic Railroad. Another thing, Wilberts son Christopher also wrote Railway Series Stories for Television.

Can you do Lost Media Chronicles Episode 74 - The Black Caldron Lost Media Chronicles Episode 75 - Project Dream / Dream land of giants / Banjo-Kazooie
I agree. P.T. Boomer’s absence is what caused the plot holes in the final film. His absence, arguably, is what caused the downfall of the Thomas franchise in the first place.
Dude the directors cut of Thomas and the magic railroad is so dark I like it also I hear Neil chrome was being offensive hence why diesel 10 has a new jersey accent
This is gonna sound crazy but, if this is what had happened with "Magic Railroad" then I wonder if something like this had happened during the production of "Barney's Great Adventure". Yeah it's nowhere near as great as "Thomas the Tank Engine", but you gotta wonder.
I've been trying to figure out this whole ordeal with the PT Boomer version of the chase scene, ever since I saw the movie as a child, which was around the time UA-cam was young. To this day I have no context. Until now.
First Spider-Man 3 Interference still love that movie Then later Arrow season 3 with Deathstroke With the suicide squad Now Thomas the train that I love so much being re-casted no way that’s so sad😭another Studio interference😱That’s messed up Don’t worry guys Sonic the hedgehog 2020 Movie Changed all that now today in 2020 & Thanks To Kevin’s MCU Movies New Now Awesomeness Movies💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
I love this series of lost media web stuff. This whole series is like a tv show that actually makes sense. Heck you should a tv channel for real and put this stuff on tv. I’d watch it all day. Parents * we got a tv and we choose between youtube for tv and Directv. We choose directv aren’t you happy. Me* take it back. Ever since then we watched our favorite channels: Lsupersonic1, lost media chronicles, and markipler. Parents again* well we just tv for this. Me again* nuts to you I’m satisfied this way.
Actually in the chase clip scott didnt play diesel, his final voice actor played him. Just with a gruff russian accent. That executives thought would be "ToO oFfEnSiVe"
that's so sad :( me and my brother enjoyed the movie, the people are soo mean. I'm greatful for finding out why PT Boomer was cut out. But I don't understand why Pt Boomer and the original voice of Diesel 10 is scary.
I will do it then (even though I'm not the biggest fan of Thomas or know everything about him) since executive meddling ruin every movie in the world. When I become a director, I'm going independent with lots of creative freedom to any filmmaker. The Thomas movie deserved better than this and I will do anything to bring dead movies back.
Boy, executive meddling and test audiences are the worst! Why can’t they just let movies stay the way they are and stop thinking about profits and being hip? Don’t they want to give something the benefit of the doubt?
I wish someplace like Amazon or PlayStation.some place where you can buy movies digitally would rerelease the movie but in the way, it was originally mint to be so everyone can see the original story that was made and not the rip to pieces movies we got in threaters
I agree with you completely. The movie should have been left the way it was. Hope the director’s cut is someday released.

I used to watch the movie when I was a kid and I knew something was off about the movie.
I actually saw the original test version you see I was born in 1997 an was an avid fan of Thomas and was one of the people who saw it yes I'm stepping out to say I saw it
Can you tell me everything you saw and the differences between the director's original amazing vision and the executive meddled cash grab.
@@valenzuelasstudios1838 it's been a while since 1999 or 2000, can't remember which year but I will make a list of what I remember
@@cindymichaels4939 Any more differences?
When you do, let me know.
As much as Thomas fans love this movie, I can’t deny a lot of the franchise’s current problems started here.
I’ve watched this when I was young
This is still my favourite movie
Sadly Rev W. Awdry wouldn’t like the film because simply of the title, it goes against of what The Railway Series was about.
Coolguy216 2.0 If he was still alive hed slap the sh*t out of the people at Mattel
The beginning of the end, I’d argue…
Somebody touch, my spa-ghet....
Somebody touch,
toucha my spaghet,
Spaghet-spaghet-spaghet-a, spa-ghet,
Spaghet-spaghet, spa-ghet
Somebody touch-a my spa-ghet!

Too frightening? Isn’t that most Disney villains? Ursula and Maleficent better watch out.

The new episodes weren’t as good cuz they over-kiddified the series. The old episodes were for all ages to enjoy. The newer ones follow the kid show formula
Straight facts
Can you do Lost Media Chronicles Episode 74 - The Black Caldron
Lost Media Chronicles Episode 75 - Project Dream / Dream land of giants / Banjo-Kazooie
The movie would have been better if they had kept pt boomer!
I agree. P.T. Boomer’s absence is what caused the plot holes in the final film. His absence, arguably, is what caused the downfall of the Thomas franchise in the first place.
i saw a post by thomasfan2002yt on twitter saying he got the royal engine and 20th year anniversary of TATMR on dvd early.
Wow, he's very lucky. :O
@UltimateGaming KOG Interesting.
Where is the la shopping mall
I'm furious that the scenes that make sense were cut out and we were given...CRINGE FUEL!
CURSE YOU TEST AUDIENCES! and I'm American and I strongly believe the British aspect gave it its strong charm.
It's executive meddling, not the test audience.
Finally, after Shroomtube deleted everything we have this on the video
Wow, I feel quite sad. Also Angry. Magic Railroad isn’t as good as it used to be, but I had no idea executive meddling hurt it THIS much.
Dude the directors cut of Thomas and the magic railroad is so dark I like it
also I hear Neil chrome was being offensive hence why diesel 10 has a new jersey accent
Maybe u can do an update video since the original footage leaked
the tv show was British when it began with Ringo Starr and it still is today.
so why does it matter? and the kids nowadays don't even care!
Had this DVD as a kid
The Emoji Movie is old news
Sony movies has not changed their stance.
It still shows how much SONY doesn't give a fuck and make poor...POOR decisions.
#JusticeForBritt !
This is gonna sound crazy but, if this is what had happened with "Magic Railroad" then I wonder if something like this had happened during the production of "Barney's Great Adventure". Yeah it's nowhere near as great as "Thomas the Tank Engine", but you gotta wonder.
If the movie stayed the way it should, there wouldn't be such bad reviews and the movie would have been the best!
Britt alcroft will be forever remembered, this truly is a tradgety.
This was Awesome Great Job!
this film is the best. i dont care abot other people say. thomas is the best
I've been trying to figure out this whole ordeal with the PT Boomer version of the chase scene, ever since I saw the movie as a child, which was around the time UA-cam was young. To this day I have no context.
Until now.
Thomas and the magic railroad 20th anniversary now director's cut blue ray and DVD 2020
Can we start another movement to try and have Sony release the original movie please!
I Think The Thomas and the Magic Railroad Director’s Cut Looks Theatrical in My Opinion.
Those goddamn executivsee
I might have two 1960s Mr Squiggle clips, but I’m not sure if their lost or not, can someone help?
The 2 Thomas episodes were good, but there are 2 final pieces of lost media. The pilot, and The Missing Coach.
So test audiences found and old man scary
BUT NOT A FREAKING DIESEL WITH A CLAW
I am so confused
I felt the most sorry for Doug Lennox and John Bellis. Their work was entirely removed from the film.
ExplorerDS6789 his part in the movie is great the lost cut is out now!
WHY CAN’T THIS BE WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED UA-cam GET ON THIS CRAP AND MAKE YT A TV SERVICE
"But everything changed when the test audience attacked"
10:41 is my beat
I have this in vhs somewhere
YOU HAVE THE DIRECTIORS CUT?!?!
Actually in the chase clip scott didnt play diesel, his final voice actor played him. Just with a gruff russian accent. That executives thought would be "ToO oFfEnSiVe"
Edit: idk what I was thinking here, it WAS Scott playing diesel 10 in that clip.
I loved this movie when I was a little girl
9:17-9:27
Thank God 😞
Executives being stupid ruins everything for everyone again
that's so sad :( me and my brother enjoyed the movie, the people are soo mean. I'm greatful for finding out why PT Boomer was cut out. But I don't understand why Pt Boomer and the original voice of Diesel 10 is scary.
Someone should do a full remake of the movie except with the uncut script. I would really love to see what the whole movie would look like after that!
That movie As a hole. IS TOO scary for a kids movie
Boy, executive meddling and test audiences are the worst! Why can’t they just let movies stay the way they are and stop thinking about profits and being hip? Don’t they want to give something the benefit of the doubt?
OH YEAH.
i was 8 when this movie was released
Why didn’t you mention the characters that never appeared in the movie? Like George the Steam Roller.
I heard the reason why the cuts were made was not because of the kids in the audience, but because of angry moms
I wish someplace like Amazon or PlayStation.some place where you can buy movies digitally would rerelease the movie but in the way, it was originally mint to be so everyone can see the original story that was made and not the rip to pieces movies we got in threaters
I was pretty scared when i saw britt allcrofts face
Why couldn't they get Matthew Broderick to voice Thomas?
Can you send the link to the script for the original copy of Thomas And The Magic RailRoad??
Its out now
