One of the only possible people to have a 1953 recording would be The Awdrys Themselves, or perhaps it's lying in an old BBC studio like Lime Grove or Studio One.
There are no copies because copies were never made. TV back then was aired live, otherwise the derailing would have been edited out, so no copies ever existed not even within the BBC.

You should check out Stories of Sodor by Victor Tanzig. He's bee active about 2 years, and his stories adapt moments from Thomas lore and places them in pre-WW2 Sodor.

I have a bit of a strange question for you, I think in a video, you mentioned that you didn't entirely get why Trey liked Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, (i am sorry if i got any information wrong or misspelled your name(s), there are many different ways to spell certain names and sometimes i can be stupid and forgetful), I think that I know one of the many possible reasons (and one of the reasons why I like the show), it is the music of the show, the first 7 seasons (6 seasons in the US) and first (and only) theatrical film have some of the greatest music composed for television and film in my opinion. your opinion may be different, but I personally listen to the music a lot, if you have listened to the music, would you tell me what you think of it?
