One thing that really helped me get comfortable with ollies off a kicker is not looking at my feet on the board and just the edge of the ramp and where i'll be landing. Once I started doing that, my timing improved dramatically and now I'm at the point where I can ollie off the kicker without thinking about it. In fact, even my flat ground ollies got better from this

We used to call those ramps "launch ramps" back in the 80's and 90's. We used to make them ourselves and would use a "borrowed" street sign for the lip of the ramp because they were metal and thin. I was just telling my son about our skate days and our launch ramps today as we went for a walk, everything was closed on Sundays back then so we had parking lots all to ourselves and we would just spend the day there with the launch ramp and have a blast.
My friends and I call em launch ramps too. :)

Skate Rat you have been taught well! I have a 15 yr old daughter but she doesn't skate and my 18 yr old son did for a bit but chose guitar instead! Stick with it because i wish i could still skate but my heel is shot from all the old injuries from when i was your age. Take care and God bless
My knees are messed up from skating im 15 and it hurts to bend my knees at morning and nights and even after skating

They used to make these black kicker's that you could get in a CCS catalog, they were fiberglass essentially and didn't warp. They had rubber grip to keep them from moving, although it wore over time. That was basically the go to kicker ramp back then. Anyway, try a 360 flip off a kicker, it's probably the most fun thing off of them as the ramp makes it way too easy.

Easy way to not make the ramp slide is, glue some thin rubber to the corners of the ramp

ur skate vids are awsoome bro,, u an andy team prolly my fav.. i always wanted to learn skating myself so i started a month ago i actually got a good bit of flip tricks down i wana learn to grind now 50 50 an board slide i was messing around cave maning them but keep getting fear when i go for it,, it's like i no i can do it but i hesitate an mess up but in my head i no i can do it lol maybe jus more practice an ill get it ;)

When you say ‘pop straight down’, how is upper body react to this? So, the upper body stays perpendicular to the ground or to the board and just pop straight down? 🤯

braille the problem i having is that as you can see when you do your ollies the board is staying to your feet but when i do mine im losing my board or im landing at an angle please repply bud

Use to have so much fun on those kickers. You can stack one on top the other, opposite ways, to make it higher

My friends and I had one of these when I was a kid, and we used a cinder block, on its side, to make sure it wouldn’t slide 🙃! Made for a neat little ledge, too 😅!

Where did you get that kicker and what model is it
I found out why I kept landing off balance on my ollies and ending up looking like ninja kicks, I was only doing leg movements for the ollie, I wasn't actually trying to rise my body off the board in order to give it some space to go up.

i dont get ollieing on a ramp because the angle is different and when i try to ollie my tail only goes to where the flat ground would be and doesnt hit the ramp so should i lean back more or what

I have a 1080 kicker ramp, and it's about 40" long x 24" high.... It's hard enough to skate off of it, in fact, i haven't yet! You have to go fast, and if you don't, you're trucks will either get stuck, or the skateboard nose dives off the ramp... What do I do???
