+Aidan James I started skating like 2 weeks ago and was going to drop in on a quarter pipe but my friends talked me out of it, said I should do other stuff first so I don't get hurt haha xD
KeyWar Hello there, Key war. Stalking me? xD jk. About the quarterpipe, been there done that, hurt my arms, and pelvis badly causing myself to stop skating for a couple of days. My advice is get your safety gear on, and hop on a smaller ramp, but only when you're feeling comfortable skating and pushing on the streets. Another thing, don't forget to train skating on the other side, if you're regular, train skating goofy as well, and vice versa. It helps with changing direction in ramps. :)
Your videos have gotten me back on a skateboard after 14 years!!! I’m 36 and skateboarding was a huge part of my life growing up. Having it back in my life has helped me immensely and I credit you guys for getting back into it. My girlfriend has also taken a lot of interest in it as well and I’m teaching her to ride while I’m relearning how to skate myself! Braille you guys rock!!
This is brilliant, I am 40 and need to learn this as I could quite happily do it all day. I have got to practice rolling back fakie as my balance going back is a bit sketchy. Thanks for this video, I have bought sms one
right on! transition is the best glad to see you teaching it, increase your shutter speed for a smoother and cleaner look, you look super blurry when skating!
I keep getting flooded with the older videos in my UA-cam feed and it’s awesome!💯😎 Thanks for all your tutorials you’re helping an old man get back into it
Aaron thanks for doing these videos they're super helpful to have and not seem like an idiot for asking someone at a park or out skating street. Braille is awesome keep it up.
Many many years ago I rode skateboard for a while, and loved it. But didn't do anything besides just riding because I was too scared. Went for my first lesson today and didn't know what was in store. One of the things we learned was going up a quarter pipe and come back down (with pumps in mind). Really liked to have an instructor tell me to do it, since it helped me get over my fears. After a few tries of going just halfway, I tried going a little higher and when I came down I did not shift the weight so I fell backwards coming down. Hurts a bit but at least I learned something!
Thanks Aaron. This really helped me with transition. I've been riding ramps for ages, but this really got me to understand the body language for pumping. Got it wired now. No longer just getting to the top of the opposite platform through sheer force of momentum. I've actually developed some FINESSE!
Thanks. I just want to thank you for all of your amazing and simple videos. Still working on an Ollie with my friend, but I've got carving, and balance down. Also pushing is pretty easy too.
Thanks so much for this... just had my transition breakthrough today with the help of this video. But one thing that I noted... finer point -was when I am going back down the push ing down felt like me driving my top leg (the leg nearest to the top of the ramp) and my knee back to the bottom of the transition. That was night and day. Pushing down with equal pressure on both feet\legs did not work for me at all. A better way to visualize is to drive the nose back into the bottom of the trans
This is a great thing to teach. Good job Aaron. Pumping was never something on my mind when I first started skating and it was the weirdest thing to have to practice. Not hard just weird :)
+YeahThatsLexie x haha, I recommend skating on the slope rather than dropping in or pumping. Riding along like he did in the end is more practice and wise
Please make a video on carving bowls. I can’t manage to stay on when I’m horizontal. If I’m going back and forth vertically, like on a ramp, I can stay on fine but as soon as it’s horizontal idk how to turn my body to stay on the board and just end up getting scared and stepping off lol
Hi I’m new to skateboarding, I took it up as I have Parkinson’s and after trying other things, boxing and working out, I found these are nit fir me, my son asked fir a board so I got him one, took him somewhere to practice he couldn’t do it. I had a go thinking I’d just loose my balance. I walk into doors and things. Well I stayed on and I’m spared him On to finding his balance. It’s a long story but I have tried pumping in a half pipe, and I just don’t keep going. You make it look so easy. It looks so much fun. I can just about stay on a And turn a bit and I like cruising through my local park. But I really want to pump and then progress. Is it just a matter of keep trying
I used to skateboard, and i always wanted to get back into it... But never really did anything about it. And now im actually going to the skate park and stuff!
This has been the hardest thing for me as I learn to skate this summer. I always end up with my back foot coming off the board and then my front foot and the board shooting back past my back leg. Need 2 lean thanks!
Hi friends, love the Chanel! I feel I have problems moving my weight between my front foot and my back foot, specially pumping and trying powerslides, any advice? Thanks!
Dude, your videos are the best on UA-cam. Thank you for everything! I want to buy a couple tees (at the very least) to support you but your current tees stink. I love the tee you have on this vid. Please add more tees, yo!
Hey Aaron, i tried this at my local skate park and i didn't get enough speed to reach the other ramp. It was made out of concrete does this affect the skateboard?
This is weird but i learned rolling up and down the ramp then rock to fakie then the opposite of rock to fakie (whatever thats called) then drop in then pump. i could do all those tricks within 2-3 days so i guess it didnt have much impact on my learning curve. also i did find learning to rock to fakie before dropping in is easier because it is a good way to get used to coming down from the top of the ramp and doing a motion/trick at the top so you can picture it that way.
Dude, you just saved my life. I watched in my beats witch are really expensive. For a second I thought that they broke. But then, I saw your comment. Thanks man!
@Braille Skateboarding Hey guys, I know this is an old video but I just wanted to let you guys know how much this video actually helped. I just tried skating a bowl for the first time not too long ago and I had no clue how to pump or how I should be moving my body as to not just fall on my ass
Hey thanks for the video, help my village only has a six foot halfpipe and it's pointing slightly down hill I can only do 2 pumps before I loose all speed, could it be the slant?
All this ramp riding stuff comes extremely easily to me but I have a more difficult time learning street tricks. I can get air and do disasters and stuff like that on a six foot mini pipe but can't tre flip consistently yet haha
You are actually straightening your knees as go up the bottom of the extension, bending them at the top and then pushing back down. Would be useful if you went over the differences in pumping up a ramp and pumping back down it.
For some of you who can't find a good place to practice. Go to Google Earth on a smart phone or computer and try to find one of those concrete water path things. They are usually under bridges or by bike trails. Or if you can't find any of those look on Google Earth still, it will be easy to find slopes using the 3d technology in the imaging software.
I need help I've Been riding a skateboard for 2 months and wanna learn how to ollie and learn how to do tricks but I ride regular but can only ollie with my right foot forward please help
I had a bit of a similar problem. I found it easier to ollie regular and slide with my left foot but I would push mongo because I also found it easier to push with my left foot. But now of course I ride normal both ways and can ollie both ways
Yeah yeah that's what I been saying da whole time fakie to fakie, huh what's dat, brah,it how u gets good its useally fair that most people stand with one preferred foot forward, that ur style but getting real good at fakie as we said,40 years ago is very helpful to make u more solid rolling in both directions, and when u see a really good transition skater do some killer tricks and then they roll fakie into or out of a cool trick it really shows they gots it togetter,ayh....pauly....so SMOOTH,yeah dat it...nice.thanks for laying down da facts da way dey should be...remember The KISS method works best keep it simple stupid,no biggy we all had to start out green the better u pay attention and listen the faster u get better,I was luck when I was 12 I met a pro vert skater, and he was nice enuf to help me out and quickly I was doing four airs and loving my new sport of skateboarding but everyone learns at different speeds I had been snow skiing since I was 3 years old so I picked up skateboarding vert very quick because I been skiing down steep mountains on ice and snow since I could walk, almost thanks Braille u got a gift,I ain't sure what it is yet but u gotta gift,(analyze this....Dinero and Billy Crystal.you you your good....chow thanks again,u know if you buy the ceramic wheel bearings for like 150 dollars u would have to pump that's what us older vert skaters do,just kidding but good wheels and taking care of your bearing with speed cream oil helps a lot...u must flow and become one with the ramp, have u discussed how yoga helps.just kidding....piece out...have fun
I've been practicing pumping but I have been bending at my waist and not my legs. It gives me some momentum but I know its not right. Someone take a look at my latest one in the last few minutes you can see how I'm pumping the quarter. Is this a really bad habit to get into?
I tried this today and wiped out, question, as you roll into the ramp and you reach your max height, in terms of weight transfer(I am goofy) and I am leading goofy should my weight transfer to my back leg as I transition back into the ramp?
It’s the leaning that was the hardest part for me. I start my tricks by running it through several times before even attempting it with my board. Oh I’m 58
I feel like lance gets speed wobbles way to quickly when he gains a lot of speed in a short time I feel like his trucks are too lose for him but idk, maybe he should tighten it up some when he's dropping in or pumping in ramps or something.
wow I watched this tutorial to lurn it but now I realize I already do this becasue I saw other skaters bent their knees and I thought it looks cool. I am still too scared to drop in tho
I learned how to drop in on a mini ramp today!
+Aidan James Good job! Keep on learning new skills!
+Ghais Alhassan Thanks for all your support!
+Aidan James right on, bro!
+Aidan James I started skating like 2 weeks ago and was going to drop in on a quarter pipe but my friends talked me out of it, said I should do other stuff first so I don't get hurt haha xD

bend ur knees, push it down, bend ur knees, push it down. stay with me now, bend, push, bend, push. workout, workout, workout! Whoo!

Dropped in for the first time today. It only took me five minutes and I’m lucky that I live near one of the skateparks that aren’t closed
right on! transition is the best glad to see you teaching it, increase your shutter speed for a smoother and cleaner look, you look super blurry when skating!
I keep getting flooded with the older videos in my UA-cam feed and it’s awesome!💯😎

Its been 4 years, what can u do now?
A chicken shuv it 😂
It's been 5 years, what can you do now
O.K., so I was already trying to drop in, but I'm going to get my pump really good first.

Hi Aaron! I really enjoy watching your Videos and they really brought me into Skating and made me have fun at Skating.Keep up the good work!!

Excellent tutorial!
it would be interesting to see lance just ride around street and in a park and just watch him do the stuff he knows.
it's just amazing how you cover everything not taking a single thing for granted.
Thanks a lot man!!! your tutorial has been really useful to me. Grettings from Gorki grana skatepark, Morón, Buenos Aires, Argentina
This is a great thing to teach. Good job Aaron. Pumping was never something on my mind when I first started skating and it was the weirdest thing to have to practice. Not hard just weird :)
yayyy, i don't have to drop in, this another way to start on a mini ramp! thanks!!!
+YeahThatsLexie x haha, I recommend skating on the slope rather than dropping in or pumping. Riding along like he did in the end is more practice and wise
_ Justinlbdr _ oh okay, thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks Aaron ❤❤❤ for the tips 😊
This is so much less annoying with one earbud in.
specifically, the left one, annoying stuff seems to be on the right
YOURE A LEGEND THANK YOU MY EARS WERE BLEEDING
The audio is cancer
Hey thanks Aaron this realy helped. i have been struggling to get enough speed to get up on a box off a ramp. Thanks again!! Please keep i up!
You make it look so easy.
So that's how you get up a ramp, this is the most explained video about getting up a ramp yet! Thanks!!!! =)
Please make a video on carving bowls. I can’t manage to stay on when I’m horizontal. If I’m going back and forth vertically, like on a ramp, I can stay on fine but as soon as it’s horizontal idk how to turn my body to stay on the board and just end up getting scared and stepping off lol

For real lance live skate supports are super fun
Yeah, or a Lance recap to see if he still has the tricks he learnt :)
Months on a board and finally know how to pump on a ramp lol. Thank you!
thank goodness i found this Aaron is a life saver
This has been the hardest thing for me as I learn to skate this summer. I always end up with my back foot coming off the board and then my front foot and the board shooting back past my back leg. Need 2 lean thanks!
I love ur channel it has helped me so much and overall so much fun to watch bro

Aaron! Do you edit your videos or you have someone working on it? By the way your audio quality is really good
I think lance edits his videos.
Seriously this helped me so much
Dude, your videos are the best on UA-cam.
THANK U SOOO MUCH FOR THE TUTORIAL... haven't found a better pump vid!!! :D

Hi Braille team~Can you guys make a video talking about how to carving in the bowl?
wow that was some bad audio
Dude, you just saved my life. I watched in my beats witch are really expensive. For a second I thought that they broke. But then, I saw your comment. Thanks man!
Daniel Shneyderman his beats are really expensive guys
lol
Daniel Shneyderman beats suck

@Braille Skateboarding Hey guys, I know this is an old video but I just wanted to let you guys know how much this video actually helped. I just tried skating a bowl for the first time not too long ago and I had no clue how to pump or how I should be moving my body as to not just fall on my ass
I do not have a skate board but l try to watch all your vids
Thank you bro this video is gone really help me a lot. I appreciate your comment on my post.
Can you talk about what's happening with your feet? Is it just about getting the right foot position to start or do you shift each time?
So back in 2014 braille had audio clipping issues?
he makes it look so easy!!!!
You should do more mini-ramp/half pipe tutorials like axel stalls and airs and what not.
I’m 40 and started skating again after 21 years, man if we had this info years ago, would of gotten so much better faster.
Please do a tail-stall (On Ramps) tutorial!!
the name already self-explained it
I started practicing this today.
Hey thanks for the video, help my village only has a six foot halfpipe and it's pointing slightly down hill I can only do 2 pumps before I loose all speed, could it be the slant?
Wow ive been pumping the hard way thanks aaron for the tip
Did anyone else think he was going to DAB at 2:13? haha
no
kind of ya
this was released two years before the song. get. your. fucking. shit. together.
Ya
Learned how to drop in today!!!!
I learned how to pump a bit by watching other skaters skate, i was bad at first but I got better by training, I’m still bad at pushing on very ramps
All this ramp riding stuff comes extremely easily to me but I have a more difficult time learning street tricks. I can get air and do disasters and stuff like that on a six foot mini pipe but can't tre flip consistently yet haha

I learned to drop in aged 7, never knew how to pump until now aged 26, it's wild
I need help I've Been riding a skateboard for 2 months and wanna learn how to ollie and learn how to do tricks but I ride regular but can only ollie with my right foot forward please help
You have a weird problem, but it's easier to learn to ride goofy then to ollie regular. In your situation of course.
I had a bit of a similar problem. I found it easier to ollie regular and slide with my left foot but I would push mongo because I also found it easier to push with my left foot. But now of course I ride normal both ways and can ollie both ways
Great vid!
makes so much sense that you should learn to pump first then drop in.
I did it thank u!!
ohmygawd this is what i needed i could pump before i saw this but this definately helped
Think of it like a swingset you tuck your feet to go up but then you push out by extending your legs going down
Yeah yeah that's what I been saying da whole time fakie to fakie, huh what's dat, brah,it how u gets good its useally fair that most people stand with one preferred foot forward, that ur style but getting real good at fakie as we said,40 years ago is very helpful to make u more solid rolling in both directions, and when u see a really good transition skater do some killer tricks and then they roll fakie into or out of a cool trick it really shows they gots it togetter,ayh....pauly....so SMOOTH,yeah dat it...nice.thanks for laying down da facts da way dey should be...remember The KISS method works best keep it simple stupid,no biggy we all had to start out green the better u pay attention and listen the faster u get better,I was luck when I was 12 I met a pro vert skater, and he was nice enuf to help me out and quickly I was doing four airs and loving my new sport of skateboarding but everyone learns at different speeds I had been snow skiing since I was 3 years old so I picked up skateboarding vert very quick because I been skiing down steep mountains on ice and snow since I could walk, almost thanks Braille u got a gift,I ain't sure what it is yet but u gotta gift,(analyze this....Dinero and Billy Crystal.you you your good....chow thanks again,u know if you buy the ceramic wheel bearings for like 150 dollars u would have to pump that's what us older vert skaters do,just kidding but good wheels and taking care of your bearing with speed cream oil helps a lot...u must flow and become one with the ramp, have u discussed how yoga helps.just kidding....piece out...have fun

Just got back into skating and need refreshing
Aaron, where are you teaching from? Is that part open
That was woodward
Please Do A Tutorial On How To Do A Running Start On A Skateboard.
i wish i had a video like this when i was a kid, it would have cost me alot of aches n pains
It’s the leaning that was the hardest part for me. I start my tricks by running it through several times before even attempting it with my board. Oh I’m 58
Shouldn’t your knees already be bent anyway? I’m very new
Hey did u see a guy there named Jordan or his name is captain sparklez on UA-cam
Thanks now I know how to pump 👍
I feel like lance gets speed wobbles way to quickly when he gains a lot of speed in a short time I feel like his trucks are too lose for him but idk, maybe he should tighten it up some when he's dropping in or pumping in ramps or something.
THANK YOU!
wow I watched this tutorial to lurn it but now I realize I already do this becasue I saw other skaters bent their knees and I thought it looks cool.
I am still too scared to drop in tho
