This is the perfect remedy to the boredom I get from picking big projects that eventually end up as Wips. I will definitely be referring back to this video. Thank you.
You betcha! So much of the time in summer when I simply can't work on winter blankets. The heat just kills me. I get heatstroke so easily! These are perfect! Thank You, Elise. Your kindness, makes know I can still believe in humans. I just have to hunt...
Elise! You darling woman! You are such a fresh breath of air! And, in this forest fire smoke, rolling through our town, every day. Weather warnings to stay in our houses! The smoke being so thick, we couldn't see the house across the street. I have an auto-immune system has been weakened, from having pneumonia too many times. It's called HyperCapnia, & I have to be on oxygen 24/7, self isolating since Mar 3rd, 2020. I've been out of our home maybe once a month, in 3 & 1/2 years. My husband does all the shopping, including buying my yarn. He's possibly is the best human I've ever known. Once in a while, I go out with him, but i stay in the car. If I contract COVID-19, I'll die in 7 to 12 days. So, we don't take any chances. That being said, I'm looking for patterns for smaller stuff. I can't down load, PDF. I have to get hard copy, or write, & watch, & write, & watch, & write. Giant pain in.....
Ok but I love how clear you speak. As a non native English speaker, usually I struggle with the listening part but i've seen some of your videos and I understand every little part even with no English subtitles. 🎉❤
Here are a few more 1 skein projects to think about. 1- Bookmarks and/or book covers. 2- Glasses case/bag. 3- You mentioned scrunchies, but what about head bands? 3- coasters. 4- for the ladies, especially with superfine/fine yarns, decorative belts. 5- I used a left-over skein of yarn to make a carry case for my Kindle. Same thing could be done for tablets, larger phones.. 6- for the gamers out there: dice bags! 8- for the crocheter/knitter, hook and needle cases (although the needle case might actually take 2 skeins). 9- traveling makeup bags/toiletry bags (may need to get zippers or something to close them with). Well, that's all I can come up with off the top of my head... hope it helps!

9:31 Bernat baby blanket is so soft 😭 Every time I pass through the yarn aisle at Walmart I squish a lot of the yarns and that is def one of my favs to touch lol
Was working with the Catania yarn while watching the video. I absolutely adore this yarn, it's steard, 100% cotton and silky smooth, perfect for people with wrist pain, because it glides qalong the crochet hook with almost 0 resistance and it's machine washable at 40°C
With the cost of living crisis, Family and friends have decided to make Birthday and Christmas presents low-key and home-made. I have just found all the presents I’m going to make for my spare yarn. Thank you, best wishes from the U.K.
Money /Jade plants are great for people who have no green thumb. They weather neglect well and they tell you when they need water because their leaves start to look wrinkly. The bunny reminds me of a jellycat bunny. I really want to try making one. I usually only buy yarn when I have a project, but sometimes I see a yarn I really want to use but it's expensive and have no idea what to make with it. I think these patterns would be a great way to scratch that itch without having to make a huge investment either money or time wise.
I purchased the One dog woof pattern, and it is the most wanted toy! I have to make it all the time. I made one with a super bulky yarn...OMGosh, it is even more adorable!
Thank you, Elise, for this video. I have been wrangling kittens, keeping them out of trouble, all morning. the kittens and mommy cat finally settled down for a nap. I so needed to see one of your videos. You are so upbeat and happy on your videos, You are such a breath of fresh air. I love all the information you give. I always learn something new. Wow, I feel so relaxed again. I'm Ready for the next round of kitten play. 😸😸😸😸
This was so helpful! I've learned to crochet in the last few years and prefer the shorter, quicker projects. Your manner, facial expression and ideas are so refreshing! I never new I'd be busier in retirement than I was working full time! Crocheting makes me feel I'm doing something worthwhile for myself or for someone else. It also helps me relax.
For years I had a crochet bracelet for my car key. If I had to gather up a lot of stuff before I got in the car, I’d throw that bracelet on my wrist. Oh and I had a row of stitches that hung on the bracelet for the key, long enough for me to reach the open and lock buttons. Life saver!
I like how this video stirred my brain and will I am certain, improve my quality of life! One skein ideas are great for me. Sometimes I just need to have a little quick thing to make to break the dreary larger projects I tend to radiate to! I am sure this is what I have been looking for! Thank You!
Oh Elise, what a great video! I have one skein of Homespun Thick and Quick (it was the first yarn I bought when I starting crocheting, but of course not the best choice for a beginner). I never found a project I felt in love for this sole skein. But this bunny, oh my goodness!!! I am making it for myself, as a reminder of my crochet journey. Thank yoooooouuuuuuu!!!!! God bless you and your family!
Omg I have loved scrunchies since the 80's too. But it's only been in the last year that I have longer hair again after 20+ years of short styles. I am so making thise cute crotchet scrunchies !!! Thank u so much for the idea lovely. 💗🙏
Whata fun way to do a relatively quick project with little yarn, and practice a new stitch that will add to your repetoire as well! I love this idea and will keep it in mind as I start my new-again hobby! I have a long fabric lanyard that I made foro my house, vehicle and camper keys. Anytime I leave my house I put it around my neck because I have locked myself out twice - IN MY PAJAMAS! If I lock myself out of the camper it is an expensive trip by a locksmith unlessHubs has kis keys in his pocket, so I just keep that lanyard on except when I go to bed. I want to get an airtag for those keys also, just in case. Maybe I’ll make a crochet airtag cozy. 😄 Thanks, Elise!
Hi Elise! Great video! Yes, I'm convinced I need to do a few of these cute projects. The list is getter every longer. I, too, live in NC. Thanks for the list. Have a wonderful evening.

Elise!! Great video! I am obsessed with crocheted bunnies and can't wait to make this one! So many great ideas! And I love your jar covers❤ Hope your weekend is wonderful!
I suggest trying Red Heart's Sparkly Scrubby Yarn (maybe their normal cotton ones too). In Korea, there are a few brands of these yarns and the Red Heart ones are new to me. I've been crocheting all sorts of dish scrubbies called "susemi" pronounced soo-seh-mee. They're quite popular in Korea since most apartments & houses don't have a dishwasher, it's mostly a cultural thing. I find the Red Heart yarn a bit scratchier than the Korean brands I was used to, which are much softer on my sensitive skin. I wonder how others would feel about it.
First of all, your top is SO PRETTY!! I so much look forward to your videos - they are the star of my “me time” that is scarce since I am a mom of two toddlers. This one is by far my favorite one that you have put out in a while ❤
Thank you for scouring the net for one skein projects so I don't have to. I have TONS of single skeins. Some have arrived in mystery boxes and I also have a habit of ordering a single skein before making my mind up what yarn I use for the project. My friend also donates yarn she bought from a thrift store but which she doesn't like after all. I could make several scrap blankets if only enough of the yarn was the similar enough thickness and fibre. 😐
Oh boy, that Catania yarn looked lovely and the Cotton Sprout. Baby hands! Yes, with the dimples! LOL And their feet. =D the last time I went to the store to look for yarn, I didn't have my phone to calculate yardage so my son and I were calculating in our head. (and I had a massive headache) I told him the total yardage for the pattern wasn't given, it was a rought approximation. So he helped me look for yarn, but then he said, wait, why would you need 6 skeins of that one but 5 of that kind? 😁 Lesson in yarn weight ensued. I wasn't able to get the yarn I wanted. Oh well. another time. those yogurt jars are great! So many great ideas. Thank you.
Baby hands and feet are the best!! And that was so sweet that your son helped you look for yarn!! Those are great opportunities to teach those math lessons!! 🧶🧶🧶

Thank you so much for these great ideas Elise - and for making me rush into the hall to make sure my keys were in the right place! lol . Funnily enough I was looking at that Japanese style bag during the week and thinking about adding it to my "to do" list, it's such a cool design. I definitely want to make a snugglebunny!
You know, I just picked up a skein of Ethereal Eyelash from Hobby Lobby this week. I think I might try that for that bunny. Adorable! Thanks for yet another awesome video. Also, I just saw one of your older videos where you talk about homeschooling. I didn't think it was possible, but I appreciate you even more now! Ha ha. I homeschool my two oldest boys (6 and 4 yrs), while my two youngest nap or play (2 yr and a 9mo baby). Thanks for all of the inspiration, Elise! - Paola
Elise, thank you for this wonderful video! You showed so many amazing projects!!!! Thank you for the call out for Premier Cotton Sprout and Premier Home Cotton Yarns!!! You shared awesome "One Skein" ideas and opportunities to use up one's Yarn Stash to make room for new yarns!!!
This is great Elize am going to make a hot water bottle , probably need 2 skeins . Now you’ve started something: what to make with 2 skeins , 3 skeins etc , keep you and us going forever!
Thanks a lot Elise, you always manage to come up with innovative and useful ideas on how to use our stash. I absolutely love it cause in this way we can always make room for new skeins 😊😀 Keep it up and keep us motivated you're awesome 👍🏻💖
Thank you so much for your new video, Elise! I am watching it for the second time on my tv. I love your videos and appreciate the research, time and effort they must take you. I made several dozen Christmas gifts with ideas from your video, with links, finding new fav designers this way. I can’t wait to start on the new projects you showed us, so beautifully in close up, lovely photography and editing! So true about knowing where any and all skeins of yarn are in your collection! Me, too! 😂 I always keep my keys in my pocketbook, which I keep on a dining room chair. I toss it in there and always know where they are. That doesn’t stop me searching for them through my bag, sometimes in a mini panic at times, but a blue plastic loop attached to my keychain helps. My son gave me a mini charger of some kind, which has the loop. The crocheted key holder could serve the same purpose, even in a pocketbook. The idea of hanging them up in a good one, too. I love baby projects, too! We have a new preemie in our family I have been searching for crochet and knit projects for him. That teddy bear lovey…sigh!👼🏻 You are truly like a best friend to us with your friendly, natural and realistic personality. My Italian born grandmother taught me how to crochet. She made anything you wanted without a pattern. My daughter also has tons of plants in her apartment, too! She’ll love the plant hangers! I have the yarn in my stash and also the yarn for bottle holders, which all my children and grandchildren could use, all hikers. I will try the Oui yogurt. I know my daughter had some, and they collect seashells. I love all these projects and own many of the yarns. The hair scrunchies, I love them all! As you recent video suggested. I am taking breaks between big, intensive blanket crocheting projects. I am a pencil style crocheter, which I hold closer to the hook end, and love my Clover hooks (and their bamboo knitting needles, my favs). MyLastly, I love that we are both Catholics. Thanks again! 💕
I have a bad habit of buying only one skein of a yarn (because I'm just cheap like that) and then leaving it unused for a long time bcs I don't know what to use it for, or I can't bring myself to use it if I don't know how much of it I'm gonna need in a project AND I also have like a specific fear of not having the yarn anymore once I have used it 😅 so one skein projects like these could be a good solution for me or at least the first problem I have 😄
If you know how many grams the project takes, weigh your leftover yarn on a food scale before starting. I will be making those scrunchies and jar covers!!
I really like the fact that most all of my Amigurumi toys only take one skein ☺️👍🏼 the projects that you featured look like fun to make. Have a great week and enjoy the spring weather……Karen from Greenleaf Idaho 🌸☺️
Tons of inspiration! Confession: I started buying Oui yogurt after seeing you make the covers for the jars. I just thought they looked so lovely. Thank you so much for sharing!
@@EliseRoseCrochet Me too. I would have never thought to have tried that particular brand if I had not watched your video. My crochet gremlin really likes it because the yogurt is yummy and the jar is part of a "project". 😂
Okay, I have a pocket in my bag for my keys, not often lost. I have a few items with loops on them to hook keys into. I also make hats with a longish loop inside, just short enough to stay hidden inside,, just knot the other end of the end tail in and run in ends. For when the hat gets too hot, put the loop on your finger or hook it to a loop on your bag, or a button on your shirt? Also useful for drying a washed hat, hook the loop on a coathanger hook, no pegs to squash the hat. The things I lose track of 8s crochet hooks, knitting needles and yarn needles. I forget to put them away once I finish something. When i can get granny smith apples, I swirl some honey through some greek yoghurt, (plain) cut skinny wedges of the whole apple, stand them up in the yoghurt and use them as "spoons," to eat the yoghurt. Maybe it'll be interesting for the boys? Have you tried figet toys? Good for scrap yarn. All the best.
Correction - I bought the baby lovey blanket, its not one skein. I got halfway through and had to buy another skein then i looked again at the pattern, (my mistake for not seeing that in the first place) but in the description it says one skein but it actually says 2 akeins of Bernat Baby blanket or Bernat blanket. I did make it and will probably make it again but the pattern maker was dishonest, she knows how many skeins it took. 🙄
Ooooh! that lacy scarf pattern is so pretty! And I think I have something that might just work for it right in my stash XD Thank you for the wonderful video! I've been kind of binging your content for the past couple of days and let me just say 2 things: 1. your energy is amazing and you have a great ability to put me in a crafting rhythm and 2. I have decided to give amigurumi a go because of you. I did a little class on skillshare for it 2 days ago, made a little amigurumi icecream cone that I stuffed with yarn scraps I had lying around, and am currently eagerly waiting for proper amigurumi supplies to arrive so I can try out of of your cute bunny patterns! Keep up the great work and have a wonderful day!
The patterns look like a lot of fun, but I couldn’t stop looking at your sweater! It’s beautiful 😍 Is it also handmade? If so, I would love to know the pattern!
Skill Share charge $13.99 per month however you must pay annually of $168.00. When you enter or go website it immediately takes you to the payment page without viewing the courses. They do have a seven day trial before charging the $168. After speaking with the chat agent they don’t know if they will bring back the monthly subscription or have the option of paying by class. Just a little information so you won’t get your hopes up high to be disappointed like I was. Right now I can’t afford the 168.00 nor do I want to go through the seven day trial just to see what courses are actually available or of interest to me. Now back to crocheting! 😅😅😅

Great ideas, I have lots of one skeins of yarn. This has given me an awesome inspiration. Thank you.
That's wonderful!! 🧶🧶🧶
Seriously Elise, I just LOVE your videos, I actually get excited watching them! 😂❤
Glad you like them! ❤️❤️❤️
The bernat blanket yarn is the yarn I am currently using for a blanket project and it is super soft and amazing to use
Thank you so very much. How fun to do these projects and so very helpful. Sending love, hugs, prayers
Thank you so much! ❤️
- Paola
Have fun making your bunny!! 🐰🐰🐰
Thanks so much, Michele! There are so many great patterns out there to use up those random skeins! 💙
This is great Elize am going to make a hot water bottle , probably need 2 skeins . Now you’ve started something: what to make with 2 skeins , 3 skeins etc , keep you and us going forever!
Lol!! Love it! 😂
I have made a hot water bottle cover using one 100g ball of super chunky!
@@MargaretUK thank you Margaret
I make scrunchies with left over yarn from my shawl projects and use the scrunchie to accessorize or tie my shawl ends together when I wear them.
That's a great tip! Thanks for sharing! 💙
Love the bunny and the jar cover really smart. the bottle pattern reminds to make the ones I already have in my pattern stash
I'm so glad you liked them! 🧶🧶🧶
@@EliseRoseCrochet yes cause I have these 2 yarns from like 1 year idk what to do with them
@@elllie3630 that's great!!
Thanks a lot Elise, you always manage to come up with innovative and useful ideas on how to use our stash. I absolutely love it cause in this way we can always make room for new skeins 😊😀 Keep it up and keep us motivated you're awesome 👍🏻💖
Thank you so much!! 🧶🧶🧶
Thanks for all of the cute ideas - and links to the patterns!
You're so welcome! ❤️❤️❤️
My favorite one skein of yarn projects is. Granny square key chains
Oooh! That sounds like an adorable project! ❤
That teddy bear lovey…sigh!👼🏻
You are truly like a best friend to us with your friendly, natural and realistic personality. 💕
That is awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing!! And sending up 🙏🏻 for the new preemie in your family!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for all your wonderful ideas!
You are so welcome! ❤️
I have a bad habit of buying only one skein of a yarn (because I'm just cheap like that) and then leaving it unused for a long time bcs I don't know what to use it for, or I can't bring myself to use it if I don't know how much of it I'm gonna need in a project AND I also have like a specific fear of not having the yarn anymore once I have used it 😅 so one skein projects like these could be a good solution for me or at least the first problem I have 😄
One skein projects would be great for that! ❤️❤️❤️
Just a quick tip about sticky residue after removing labels - reapply & remove the label & it picks up the stickiness 😊
Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
I've never stopped wearing scrunchies...since late 80's. Boy how the years since graduation from high school went by......Christi
Haha!! I have loved scrunchies since then too! ❤
@@EliseRoseCrochet I am pretty sure we are about the same age. I graduated in 1990.
Same here, just wish my hair was as full as it was back then!

If you know how many grams the project takes, weigh your leftover yarn on a food scale before starting. I will be making those scrunchies and jar covers!!
Great tip!! 🧶🧶🧶

I love the yogurt and those little jars!! 🧶🧶🧶
@@EliseRoseCrochet Me too. I would have never thought to have tried that particular brand if I had not watched your video. My crochet gremlin really likes it because the yogurt is yummy and the jar is part of a "project". 😂

Very versatile! 🧶🧶🧶
You know I love a free pattern! Thanks Elise!

Thanks so much for sharing!! 🧶🧶🧶

Thank you, Dawn!! Hope your trip was amazing!! 🐘🐘🐘
Signed up for skill share! Thanks so much -Sommer
That's great!! ❤️
Thank you! God Bless!

Thanks for sharing! 🧶🧶🧶
Ooooh! that lacy scarf pattern is so pretty! And I think I have something that might just work for it right in my stash XD
Thank you for the wonderful video!
Thank you so much!!! I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos!! ❤️❤️❤️

If you use the link in the description box you will get a one month free trial to Skillshare. Hope that helps! ❤️
