Its slowly getting better in places other than Koboh's vast central area, but the amount of bugs and glitches are more annoying to me than the FPS. Im tired of enemies clipping through walls, my dodge inputs not registering, or finishers not appearing when i get a boss 1 hp
PS5...I started playing NG+. The game is still running quite smoothly. ( I had no image tearing ) I arrived on the planet Koboh, at the beginning it's still going pretty smoothly. (TV no ALLM , no VRR )
The opening 20mins of koboh are indeed smooth. Get to the town area however and the framerate drops again, bringing with it massive screen tearing and stutters. Maybe patch 6...maybe.
What is your tv i might ask, these kind of issues are actually WORSE on high end tvs especially oleds like mine since there is no input lag and image draw latency every micro and macro stutter is very visible
@@petergaal1417 the input lag and the time it takes the tv to draw and complete the image makes it bearable, i know from my old samsung. Its ironic that if you had a better cutting edge tv you'd be having a much worse experience because the software can't keep up with the targeted hardware power.
A couple of framerate comparison videos are up for both consoles running patch 5 and they're showing no improvement on either system. FSR image breakup has not been addressed and resolution remains the same. Software VRR has still not been implemented. For myself on ps5 I can certainly say it's the same experience as the previous patch. Frame drops, stuttering, screen tearing, and image ghosting are all still very much apparent. It's quite unimpressive.
I think they have been minor updates thus far, but there is no doubt that I've noticed a bump in performance in the areas I've tested. Significant? Maybe not. But a bump nonetheless. That doesn't mean there isn't a litany of issues still remaining, however. Far from optimized completely.
@@robgable2426 Variable Refresh Rate. Allows your tv or monitor to sync it's frame cycles with the signals sent from the GPU/Console. Basically it helps to eliminate screen tearing, and even stutters/frame drops by allowing the display to refresh as often or as little as the GPU requires. Puts them in sync. I'm sure someone could give a more nuanced answer, but that is how I understand it.
Its ridiculous already. Ill just wait another 6 months. It should be able to run as smooth ass Fallen Order did. Not sure why they cant seem to get there. It doesnt look any more impressive graphically. I have a feeling EA's baked in pirate protection is what causes issues on PC at least and they devs cant work around that without simply lowering textures and resolutions. It shouldnt run this bad on hardware as powerful as an XBOX series X
The Series X and PS5 are more then juicy enough to run this at 1080p/60, even 1440p/60. The issue lies in optimization, and potentially the fact that Respawn seemingly implemented a baked in version of Ray Tracing on console. Not sure how difficult that is to untie, but I would certainly think it's possible. There is NO reason performance mode should have ray tracing turned on.

I have overall found the dodge in this game to be next to useless. Jumping seems far more effective, or utilizing the dash ability after a jump.

Screen Tear is driving me Nuts!!
Screen tearing is REALLY bad in this game. Recommend turning on VRR if you can.

I have stopped playing the game cz of the issues. I hope it gets fixed soon so that i can continue playing it

I can't see this game getting fixed. It might get about 30 or 40% better . When has a game with this many issues ever fixed all of the problems ?
No it’s not fixed. I can’t play with ray tracing on pc. I have to turn it off if I don’t want it to crash.
