its crazy. i set all my settings for performance and turned off all the blurry shaky cam stuff. game looked good. and now im into maybe the 3rd act of the game and everything looks blurry. like even if i stand still i cant get the character to come in focus. even when i go to the pause menu and go to customize Cal the character model in that is blurry. not sure whats going on with my game but its super frustrating.
I realized post edit that I should have zoomed in on the ghosting section to make that more clear, but its still visible here, and clearly visible in gameplay when not recording. Also, I failed to mention another issue - there's some really bad screen tearing throughout, but its prevalent in certain areas. So if you can use VRR, I highly recommend it as it should help negate some of that.
I noticed it on my PS5. I got EA Play Pro on PC started the game there and its so much better in every way especially 4k. Its crazy after 6 months its still bad.
My eyes hurts within an hour. I set everything off even hdr but still do little. The game is good and Merrin is the only reason I keep going. Hope the fix come soon enough.
I should have mentioned my HDR was set to off as well. This is how the vanilla game looks, with all post processing disabled and HDR off. Those things would just make it look even worse at this point.
Digital Foundry's PS5 analysis is out! Aaaaaand it confirms my experience... Performance mode is sub 1080p. All the way down to 648p. ua-cam.com/video/iWJKuCfHLSU/v-deo.html
Im on PS5 and I have tried playing on both performance and not and it both bad, cals model is never in focus and is always blurry. When I just look at him while doing nothing I can’t see details on his face at all
PS5 on quality and not a hitch. Runs and plays beautifully. I have never seen what you point out here. Note: I am playing in a hotel and the screen is 1080P.
Oh, same. I'm really hoping they do a deep dive with the console versions, even though all the talk is centered around PC. It's barely any better here. I mean, I was looking forward to this game to a level I haven't since Elden Ring. And my initial experience soured it enough that I'm willing to wait for improvements before going back. It's been that rough.
I haven’t had any issues on the PS5! I do notice some graphic issues and the quality mode is terrible at 30fps. I play on performance mode and it’s been quite decent for me
It's straight up ass & I'm on PS5. 480p resolution, garbage frames, pop in, bugs, janky movement, combat, & animations. TLOU PS3 looks and plays better.
What display are you playing on and roughly how far away do you sit? Other than that, some people just aren't as sensitive to noticing these things, so I don't expect everyone to have the same experience. I do wonder if PS5 had a smidge more optimization though.
my game is so blurry it hurts my eyes i didnt notice it at first when i first played but when i saw other vids on jedi there game looks so clean and it makes me mad😭cuz isnt the ps5 supposed to give u “good quality”
so. do you think the visual quality will get worse as they try and patch for a more stable fps? I can't imagine visual quality and FPS will both be improved, there has to be a trade off right?
I'm not sure. I share the same concerns. Honestly, it just feels like poor optimization to me because this game doesn't look good enough to perform so poorly. Don't get me wrong, the environments and everything are rendered beautifully, but at such a low resolution it's hard to imagine that is the actual, stable requirement to run this thing smoothly. It's obviously aiming for 1440p but something is drastically reducing it's ability to actually achieve that or even come close during action sequences. I think they'll patch the FPS issues to bring a more stable 60fps experience, and hoping they can adjust the dynamic resolution scaling too. From what I've seen with the PC issues, it seems to be more of an issue with the game not utilizing the CPU effectively. So that could be happening here. If be surprised if it was GPU related, as no other game on Series X or PS5 performs AND looks this bad.
Great analysis. I got this on Series X and it’s really disappointing. Plus lots of weird bugs. Like auto target lock on and camera follow don’t work. Man, does it need a lot of work.
Send it to respawn, spam forums and reddit. Devs need to pin point little shit to work on it. Where are the times I bought a game on ps2 and never thought about its state as it was perfect. No updates, no waiting on patches. It just released and I enjoyed. Now the game releases and it is in plain shit state.
Totally agree that it should not have been released in this fashion, but such is the industry in 2023 it seems. We've had so many piss poor PC ports that the consoles decided they wanted some attention too. 😂
@@WarriorVII I ended up getting a refund. Xbox literally gave me one 5 minutes after I requested lol. If the game does end up getting better I’ll buy it again
Jedi survivor is broken not only on xbox, but there are enough to see games in lead ps5 development that penalize the xbox. The xbox serie x is technically more powerful than the ps5. Stop buying games from publishers who don't care about xbox players.
PS5 version runs better, like almost every AAA release recently (what is going on with Series X!) but PS5 version is still absolute trash and runs like dog water. Every version of the game is horrendous and thank God I didn't buy it.
My buddy has the PS5 version, and while he said he is not without issues, he implied they didn't seem as bad as what I'm experiencing. So there maybe some truth to that. Although, there's also plenty of benchmarks online showing poor fps performance on PS5 too. Just not sure if the muddy textures and terrible resolution are as obvious. But I'm wondering if there was more time spent optimizing there.
It's just poor overall. I don't think it's a hardware situation. Wouldn't be shocked if PS5 has slightly better performance just due to the faster SSD. But I don't know. I've heard PC still looks like pixelated trash too.
@@Cshizzle94 Which is exactly why it's not hardware related. When 4090's can't even maintain 60fps, that basically confirms it. Though, I speculate some people aren't noticing the issues as much if they're sitting far away from a screen. I'm relatively close to a 42", so I realize these things are probably more apparent to me. Still, it's unacceptable to look THIS bad and not be hardware limited.
This makes me a little worried for the viability of UE5 games on the new consoles. The Matrix UE5 demo, although techically stunning in many ways also had image issues similar to those in Jedi:Survivor (blurring, pixelation, ghosting). As i understand it Jedi:Survivor was developed using UE4 but transitioned to or at least used some features of UE5 later in its development but either way,the visual mess and poor performance doesn't bode well when you consider just how many future games will be using UE5 for its graphics engine.
I had a similar thought - have heard about code and development issues arising with UE5, but obviously can't independently confirm that. It's odd though as UE4 seemed solid for so long. Hoping they can get these things ironed out so every UE5 release isn't a nightmare. Worth noting games like Fortnite and Gears 5 run extremely smooth though, so who knows.
8 months later, still not fixed, had to buy it on my pc instead
Yes, I'm experiencing an extreme pixelation on PC. It is very noticeable on the lightsaber blade.
Sheesh. Hoping that at least confirms it's a common issue that be can addressed across all versions.

Curious to see what you think about todays patch

That's because these issues exist mainly on performance mode.
I'm still waiting for Digital Foundry to release their analysis... I hope they tear it apart and EA listens close.
