Interesting. I've talked to a few different companies and none of them are willing to travel to our area of PA. The southern PA guys say we are too far north and the New York builders say we are too far south. So we are still looking.
I love how you made this video to highlight the Amish business. Growing up in a Pennsylvania Dutch area I too have always idolized theyre roots of ethics. They are nearest to my own "native american" type of approach to life and honestly, all communities should be looking toward the Amish to learn the premise of how things can and should flow. Aside that, my GF and I are avidly preparing to go off grid in upstate NY (lake george area) and my question to you is, through your journey to land have you noticed if land is typically always priced way over what it eventually sells for OR did you notice that land is typically priced closely to what it sells for. I know its subjective, but the MLS just seems to be full of people thinking they're unimproved land is worth as much as land with a cabin on it. Would love your personal input on the NY land situation! thanks!
They are farmers, farmers historicly can build anything and farmers typically have the mind set of, the day isn't over until everything is properly maintained and ready for work the next day

Couldn't agree with you more! We had an Amish construction company build our barn. They raised it in 3 days and were the most professional and courteous contractors I've ever worked with! We have a video series on our channel you should check out. Time lapse of the build!
I'm a retired engineer and watch many contractors come into our building over the years and build out floors....99% of them DO NOT feel it is their responsibility to clean up ANY of their mess. They just trash an area and when they are finished they leave.

Whats next is debate how to get out of city , How to make that RAW land livable and agricultural able while avoiding rip offs taxes not knowing loopholes.

And i just got a contact for the amish in my area. Intend on seeing what they can do for us. Like to keep the work and money local. Personally i have alot of respect for the amish and there way of living. We will be needing a barn soon, as well

I have a bit of experience in rural constructions, and this construction is very typical in the US, and popular in Europe due it it's ease. However it is an outdated approach. There are more durable pre-fabricated insulated walls you can install within 1-2 days for the entire building of any design and shape. The materials will cost more, but you spend only around 2 days on labor, that makes labor super cheap. But instead of paying to the labor for 2-3-4 months of work, you invest in more expensive materials and your construction is better insulated, will stand longer, and end cost will be the same, sometimes even cheaper. Given that, it is an outdated way of building typical constructions. But those construction companies would never tell any of that as it will hurt their business.
