So looking at it, you normally get that dialogue option anyway, but the reward for that option is the Sickle you steal so since it can’t be given it gives the boon for sacrificing a party member but to everyone? That’s kinda insane.

There is another way if you try and figure out what he is and try and out him he will ask you to be his chosen with no sacrifice
Do you get the buff? Because I'm pretty sure normally you only get the buff if you kill a companion; if you convince him in any other way you get the weapon instead.
Not sure what's the game logic behind what we see in this video, tho...
@@MatLCFI think the idea is if he doesn’t have the weapon to give you, he’ll apply the buff instead

Nice to know there's a way to get it during a good playthrough. In one of my evil runs I let Wyll kill Karlach so he could get that sweet robe, took it, then sacrificed him.
Just so people know, you don't need to follow that exact dialogue path. Just steal the sickle then become BOOOAL's chosen.

I think if you are a Warlock you can uncover his true nature. After that he will ask you to be his chosen for that you have to keep his secret.

@@FaeMagic Hes a redcap same creature that Ethel has around her house. Then either you take his buff or you make the Kua Toa believe in your god (if youre cleric) or in your oath (if youre a paladin).
@@kadirr8974You can uncover his nature with a successful check (it was either a perception or insight check iirc). I did it as a sorc/paladin multiclass.
So, just making sure, you need to steal the blade so you get the option to let him give you the blessing without sacrifice?
Yep that's right. But going near them triggers dialogue, so you need your dialogue character to initiate, then once it starts send in the invisibile teammate.
This is a lie you get the sickle simply by telling him you kill other people in his name the reward for that line is the sickle u just stole u get it jo matter what I literally just did this party yesterday in my game

If you steal the sickle then he will give your entire party the permanent status effect instead, because he doesn’t have the sickle to reward you with anymore, so if you follow this video you will get both

I've scoured every single inch of the map but can't find these guys. I'm a map completionist and have to uncover every section of map, but I constantly see vids of places I haven't seen.
@@mainstay69wait until you find out there are secret hatvhes hidden under chests in cazador's castle leading to secrets room( one of them being so secret the devs had actually forgotten about it 😂)

Tip: it only works on the party members you bring with you into the cove. Any party members at camp will NOT receive this buff unless they can use a sickle with proficiency. You can have uo to 5 characters with the buff (4 from the party + 1 extra wielding the stolen sickle)

That was so easy to get, but i never use it at all because there's no good way to apply bleeding before your first attack. If there was a spell like blood rain in divinity that makes everyone get bleeding, then it would be great. Otherwise you just have to do one attack at non advantage, then your second attack is at advantage. Also the weapon action that applies bleed has a dc of 13 or 15, so everyone always passes that.
I think I may have discovered a different way, but I failed the last roll on honor mode, so I’m not sure, but as a bard you can convince the Koa toas to worship you and kill boooal instead, but I have no idea if it actually works, may reload a different run and try again

There a glitch for me and my buds couch co op play where we all had the buff but now only 1 player character has it after we progressed and saved. strange

Honestly I am fully convinced there is no proper way to play the game, just certain degrees on how normal you play it
There is no "not designed way to play this game". The many, many ways to break it, are there for the player to do exactly that. Since we can't keep up with all the creative solutions that DnD would give us at a table, the Devs allowed for as much creativity as we want to put into it.

Weird you need to jump through all those hoops just to unlock a dialogue option that sounds like it should just be available...
The dialogue option is always available. But, normally the reward is the sickle. If you steal it, he can't give it to you as a reward, so he gives the blessing instead.
Where is the location? I've fought some of these fish guys when I first came to the moonrise towers map, but haven't seen anymore since.
They're in the under dark near arcane Tower in Act 1

Hahah am I the only one who save scums EVERY single die roll? I mean, I haven't lost a single one the entire game, haha. I have, I just reload and redo it even if it takes 20 tries, hahah. I would reload so quick, I didn't even realize until like 30 hours in that you could "Re-roll" with inspiration points hahaha.

@@tiagorinckcaveden4114 yeah, it's basically right next to the illusory cliff you mention. look to the left. there should be jumpable platforms with some exploding plants across a chasm. once you make it to the other side an option to climb down should appear
You know you're hopping down the right rocks if you find a skeleton with the Helm of Autonomy on it. The Climb Down area is a few feet from the skeleton.

Since my first play through I always sacrifice Astarion. Just because the irony of it and I think he’s morally the worst character in the game. A real SOB.
