Dan, I love the channel, love all the content you do regardless of what system, whether it's shadow of the colossus, minigames (hope to see you do more of those again one day!), or snes/genesis. Really, it could be anything. And I've really really enjoyed the What's the Difference videos, which have allowed me to watch new content from you without having to simultaneously process so many mixed emotions from watching an episode of Console Wars without Greg in it. I think you do quality work and your effort shows. So I didn't want this to be seen as a "hater" comment or someone from the peanut gallery trying to control your artistic vision. Clearly, I'm a big fan. All that being said, I really much prefer keeping the What's the Difference format with 32-bit systems and lower, or just focusing primarily on Sega Cd games, like you have been. It's helped me to explore the library of the sega cd, and to take a second look at some games I would've ignored, much the same way Console Wars proper has also helped me discover several games I'd previously written off. Keep creating new content! I will watch it either way.
Over-all, I'd say yes, Powered Up is an awesome game... It is indeed fun to play, I enjoy the backgrounds and stage object designs, the additional intro stage, the voice acting, and being able to play as more characters than just MegaMan alone. Where it got weird for me as a long-time MegaMan gamer: 1. I would have preferred an art style similar to MegaMan 7 or 8, or something a step up from that... rather than the "chibi" style. 2. After all the years of MegaMan, and a long-established numbered list of Robot Masters, suddenly there are two new Robot Masters in the retelling of the beginning that don't have numbers on their own, and/or would have offset everything on the list if they did? 3. I didn't really like the change in the long-established Robot Master weaknesses. 4. Including a redesign of Wily Machine 1 instead of using the original and including this new one in a new numbered sequel? 5. Being able to unlock MegaMan's slide before he gained that function in MegaMan 3, and unlock the charge function of his Buster before MegaMan 4... I agree those functions never should have been taken away without explanation in 9 and 10... but to grant them in the retelling of his very first adventure? It just felt like something went very weird with the MegaMan timeline.
