In response to the testimonial here I would like to say that I have been a member for 5 years. Considering the drop-in fee at a regular yoga class...membership is a smoking deal. I have access to any type of class I need. I can look up a vinyasa class if I am wanting to move, a yin yoga for the immune system, a yoga class that covers the chakras....anything and everything is available to me for a nominal annual fee. Just give up an annual massage and you will have enough money to join. Yin yoga is better than deep massage. I highly recommend giving back to Melissa and Tim for their service to the yoga community.

This class was a bliss, after a long day typing and tensing my neck and shoulders. My shoulders definitely feel resilient after that! Sending you and your team lots of gratitude.
Amazing how much difference this one class makes. The Spinx pose with a twist is intense. This is first time I did it. When doing melting heart pose I have to use a bolster transversely to support my arms and head. This still stresses the shoulders so seems a good modification for me. Please keep reminding me to relax muscles in the poses...that really works but I need to be reminded. Thanks.
I like these yin yoga classes, they are gentle. I do give my shoulders a lot of attention, you know I like my shoulder stands! haha This was perfect for stimulating the shoulders without stressing them too much and Thanks for the mention at the end!

Hi Melissa have tried a few of your classes they are wonderful you mention frozen shoulder in one of your classes what do you recommend for this as I have one as well and my physio wants me to do lots of external shoulder rotations what yin poses would be the best
Hi Suzanne, Broken wing pose is a great pose that will allow you to do external rotation of your shoulder, so is reclined twist :) Namaste, Melissa p.s. remember you can apply the yin principles to any of the external rotation exercises that your physio gives you as well
I did finish this class. This is good for my frozen shoulder. I'd like to suggest to those like me that can't flatten their ankles in child's pose that they roll up or fold a blanket to place under their ankles for support. My shoulders are too stiff to do the sphinx pose the way you do it with right arm over left, but I can do it with right arm behind the left arm which gave a good stress to both shoulders. If I keep practicing I should be able to do it your way.
Thanks for offering modifications and it is more important to listen to your own body and follow your own inner wisdom than to do it my way! Namaste, Melissa
My shoulders feel resilient! I've been suffering with an injury in my neck and down the left side of my back. Resting, ice, heat, stretching were just not cutting it. I have a feeling this series is going to be repeated for a few days so I can get back to a pain-free range of motion. It was precisely what I needed!

I was wondering, is there a reason why in your hatha yoga classes you incorporate holding mudras for a couple of minutes at the end, but not in your yin classes. I like both ways. Just was wondering if this decision is deliberate or random?
Hi Jarka, it is a deliberate choice. There are a couple of reasons. The main reason we are already doing a lot of long holds in the class and I also want you to be able to have a long savasana at the end to be able to integrate your practice. So the biggest reason is the time constraint of the class. I guess the second reason is that it isn't part of the yin yoga lineage that I learned from my teacher Carly Forest and the lineage with Sarah Powers of Insight Yoga. Namaste, Melissa
