Dearest Melissa, I did finish the class and listened intently to your poem. I so appreciate you sharing your spiritual journey with us on UA-cam. I have to laugh each time I want to follow your direction to lie flat on my back for the rebound. I will be 80 in two months, and although I have practiced yoga for almost 40 years, I find that getting up, laying down, rollling over, etc:, is beginning to make me feel like a beached whale....however, I keep doing it because....yoga is a life style for me. I can't tell you how much I love to hear your voice, listen to your words of wisdom, and always at the end of class a beautiful poem. This class was amazing! I've been feeling a lot of tension in my body lately - mainly in my shoulders and hips, but also in my lower back and abdomen... After this class my body felt so much better and relieved! I even slept better during the night. It's incredible what Yin Yoga and holding the postures for long enough can achieve! The class today was spot on and I especially loved your poem. Tectonic plates imagery has been coming up a lot for me this year and in particular this last month so the poem resonated at every level of my being. I am experiencing held trauma in my shoulder so I didn't notice much difference...however, I know the differences can be very subtle and doing gentle yoga is always beneficial for me. So thanks so. much Melissa, because I am sure my myofascial sling is happier. namaste'
My miofacial sling is happy! 😺 I've not seen a graphic of what it looks like before and what parts of the body it covers. I tried to think about how the sling would be moving when I did the poses. It was very interesting! 👍
This class was amazing! I could not believe the tension I was holding from my shoulders down to my feet! I feel like a new person and will have my four teenagers do this class with me so they too may have a happy myofascial sling 🌸

Would it be alright to substitute the figure 4 stretch with the pigeon stretch. I find I get a fuller stretch, and I can relax into it, or is the figure 4 stretch more beneficial in some way? For me, trying to hold onto larger thighs for a longer period of time is problematic for breathing, and for relaxation. I'm not opposed to toughing it out if the pose is more beneficial.
