Brendan Fraser has been my "comfort actor" for a long time, especially in my childhood. Missed seeing him when he was gone, but I just watched The Whale and... holy shit! What an emotional ride...
Brendan Fraser is a great actor. He didn't take himself seriously. He could play comedy, action and drama at ease I really like him in George of the Jungle and The Mummy. I was moved by his performance in The Whale
Blast from the past my favorite. I wore my DVD out watching over and over. Loved the idea of innocence he portrait as adult, due to the values his character was raised with while stuck in fall out shelter. The ideal gentleman the character displayed.
Brendan is an amazing human being and fabulous actor. I'm so glad he won the Oscar for the movie, The Whale. The way he portrayed that role was so in depth and gut wrenching. I cried through the whole movie. Brendan has been a favourite actor for me for years. I love who he is and his gentle loving nature. He is so humble and endearing. I wish for him, nothing but the best in life and all the best roles in his acting. Love you Brendan. ❤❤❤
Brendan Fraser has been a favorite actor of mine since the 90s. I've watched almost all of his movies and he is a great actor. Oddly enough, School Ties is my favorite of his movies - it never made sense to me why it never received more accolades. Although I also enjoyed all three of The Mummy movies. He deserved that 'come back' moment with The Whale. I hope he enjoys a renewed career and makes a ton more movies.
My favorite movie of his is "The Whale"😢❤ because he showed everyone that he's still got it! No matter what or the amount of doubt almost everyone in Hollywood had, even blacklisting him for telling the truth about what trauma he was forced to experience and deal with silently by himself; Plus him being away from the screen and from acting in general for as long as he was? 😮👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹!!! That's a movie that I can confidently say, I can watch over and over and over again and never get tired of it 😊 it never fails to have me tearing up all through it especially, the ending? Whooo 🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧 WE LOVE YOU BRENDAN AND ARE PROUD YOU FINALLY GOT THE OSCAR YOU'VE DESERVED YOUR WHOLE CAREER AND WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU DO NEXT!!!!!!!
Brendan Fraser the best part he played was the father of two disabled children in the movie "Extraordinary Measures" . He was perfect in his embodiment of a father that will do anything to save is children from an orphan disease slowly killing the children. Trying to find a medication that would save them. He had to search out a doctor/ researcher that had a theory on a medication that would save them. It was a wonderful movie. You really feel for this father ,you could feel his desperation. Beautiful movie , great acting. Brendan Fraser is an excellent actor .
I really enjoy/ed him in Encino Man and airheads. I know they're not serious roles or box office hits but they're a couple of my favorite 90's movies, they just bring me "joy" and "comfort food" type of feeling (even to this day).
That is beautiful. His performances bring a LOT of joy and comfort to so many people, including myself. Although Encino Man actually did do well at the box office, but Airheads did not, and yet it's one of his most well-known and well-loved. So whether or not they were box office hits at the time they were released, or serious roles, doesn't matter. He is an excellent actor no matter what the genre, with many, many loyal followers. I liked the video above in many ways because it appreciates his talent, but the emphasis on box office so-called "failures" irked me.
Outstanding video! Thank you for producing and sharing. Ever since "School Ties" I have been a big fan of Brendan Fraser. It is very gratifying to see his get the credit he deserves for his amazing talent.
Brendan is a precious jewel - he’s one of the good ones. I hate that he spent so many years hurting and lost due to the sexual harassment & assault by some slimy bigwig who wasn’t worth the air he breathed. As a survivor myself, I absolutely understand how much that messes with your view of yourself and indeed - the entire world around you. I’m so thankful he had his family at that time; love can and does often heal, but sometimes its job is more to hold you up and keep you going while you heal yourself. At the same time sometimes this kind of pain can turn areas of your life toxic, and I can’t imagine going through all of this as your mother - his biggest supporter always - slowly, painfully was stolen by cancer. He deserves happiness just as all of us do; I am so glad to see he’s doing well and I wish him nothing but the best.
No, he isn't. Until 2 years ago, he hadn't been out of work for 31 years. His stories are untrue, his allegations are false. He's been a liar all his life and his mother was the first recipient of his lies. If she were alive, she would be disgusted with him, especially with The Whale. Phil Berk has been married to his childhood sweetheart for 70 years and he's heterosexual. Brendan couldn't keep up his sham marriage for 10 years. He's been gay since boarding school. His 2 youngest "sons" aren't even his, and he knows it. Anyone with eyes knows it. Phil Berk is 90 years old and has 1 accuser. No others have come forward in the 44 years that he worked in the industry. None have come forward since Brendan's lie-filled GQ interview 7 years ago. What does that tell you? His phony comeback was orchestrated by him and managed by 2 PR firms and believed by a lot of naive people who didn't do the math or ask the right questions.
So happy 😊 Brendan won an Oscar for his performance in the whale. Have not seen it yet but hope to this year. Congratulations 🎊 on your fine achievement. Looks like you have a good future ahead. Wish Brendan much success and happiness 😊😊😊
this is one of the few of his movies I haven't seen, along with Encino Man or Airheads that type of juvenile comedy just does not appeal to me, maybe because I was never an eleven-year-old boy, I am no fan of Ben Stiller for the same reason s it's funny he won those roles from Ben
I’ve always loved Brendan’s movies. Watching him talk in interviews lets you see his heart. He’s amazing to me. Can’t wait to see him in more movies. His most recent The Whale just showed what an amazing actor he is! 😊😊😊
Brendan. Didn’t know how much you went thru..you are truly inspiring... Hope things have turned around. You’ll never know how many lives youve touched as you are well respected and loved. Thanx for your honest dedication to your life’s work under all these circumstances. Best to u!
As much as I love his film roles, his performance on Scrubs is my favourite. Doesn’t matter how often I watch it, tears each time! And to discover his character's photography is an aspect of him... 😍😍
So thankful he spoke up about the inappropriate behaviour, it's not funny when we feel intimidated. Thank you Brandon. I found myself identifying with his "loser" side and having compassion, something I have been too afraid to do so much.
Mr Faser I had an experience when I was 4yrs old, just recently I had a very serious very real breakdown, it was a song that triggered it. I am 62 and the flash back floored me literally. I could feel the hands and hear the song from the person who was inappropriate with me. Your courage is inspiring. Have a fabulous life with your beautiful wife and family.
He doesn't have a beautiful wife anymore because he walked out on her for a young guy he met in China, on The Mummy 3 who later disappeared. That was 2007. His family would like closure.
Thanks for a comprehensive review. I'm so glad that Brendan won last year's Oscar for Best Actor. He was just great in "The Whale." Just so you know, the late film critic's last name is EEBERT -- Roger Ebert, not the way you said it.
Brendon Frasier ❤ we are age contemporaries and when George of the Jungle came out I took my young Godson to see it. For years that was "our film" to joke about/reminisce over. I've missed him in the cinema since and realised watching this video that I've seen all, but for two, of his films. On a side note, yes, still have dvds of him in his films and no, they've never been allowed to enter any donation pile ❤
I most loved Inkheart!! And then Journey. And, of course, the Mummy series. I love watching Brendan. He's a very talented actor who got screwed. I've yet to see The Whale. I'm looking forward to it with two enthusiasm. I'm on disability and cannot afford to go to a movie or I would have used every resource at my disposal. Btw, I have survived 4 strokes and as a result cannot drive anymore to get to a theatre.
This was extremely well done. Such a refreshing change of pace to watch this production when today, everyone is just throwing something together and using an AI voice to narrate with many mistakes. This production is fully researched and top quality. I am subscribing. ❤
I adore Brendan. He has such a gentle soul. He's humble and loves his family. He's so talented. I've always had a little crush on him and am so happy for him. Blessings from Washington State.
There has always been a prejudice among critics that comedy is not difficult; that it's easy and comedians or comedic actors aren't really acting, which implies they can't act. They, the critics, seem to consider comedy as a crutch, i.e., an easy way to entertain. In fact, nothing is further from the truth and, frankly, it is rare when I see a really good comedy movie. With that in mind, Brendan Fraser seems to have been wrongly type-cast -- both by Hollywood and the public -- as a comedic actor when, in fact, he was a serious actor from the start. It's a pity. But an object lesson in preconceptions and misconceptions. And I think now, finally, Brendan Fraser will be considered for parts that he has wanted his whole life. At least, I hope so. I also want to add that I have not seen The Whale. I'm not sure I ever can, as my relationship with my own father was -- well, my own father was completely different from that of the character depicted in The Whale. To this day, it's very painful for me to watch what a good father would be like; especially one looking for redemption.
marigeobrien: Bravo!! Thank you for posting this. I can't tell you how refreshing it is. I have thought the same thing for a long time, and it really does irk me, this commonly held notion that actors doing comedy are not "real" actors. Such baloney. The idea that their comedic work does not require talent and is somehow a cinch compared to drama - thus implying they can't act - is a myth that really needs to be debunked. It's an insult to the really talented actors out there that do comedic acting, that their work is dismissed as something that just anybody could do goofing around in their living room. And this definitely applies to Brendan Fraser. It drives me bonkers when someone says (after seeing him for the first time in a dramatic role), "Wow! He can actually ACT!!!" Oh brother. It's obvious that Brendan imbues each of his comedic characters with the mannerisms, body movements, demeanor, facial expressions, personality and voice to make that specific character come to life, and to tell their story. Just as he does with the dramatic ones. Moreover, he has a gift for making even very implausible characters believable, and for physical comedy, comic timing, and convincingly reacting to things which are not in front of his eyes (added later with CGI). Most of all, he takes his characters and their humanity seriously, whether they are funny or serious characters. That is actually his stated acting philosophy. I think you hit the nail right on the head that he has been inaccurately typecast as only a comedic actor, with all the disparaging baggage that you described going along with it. And, as you rightfully pointed out, Brendan Fraser has also been a serious dramatic actor from the start. It's nothing new. To anyone reading who doesn't know: His first two major roles filmed before Encino Man was released, Guilty Until Proven Innocent and School Ties, were fine performances of completely serious dramas. After that, he spent the better part of the 90s also excelling in dramatic roles, such as The Passion of Darkly Noon, Twilight of the Golds, and Gods and Monsters (and more.) He has continued in that way alternating from one genre to the next throughout his career, and expressed that when he does one role, he intentionally turns around and does a completely different kind of role the next time. That kind of incredible versatility should really be admired instead of disparaged. The good news is that with his incredible performance in The Whale, he finally received the accolades he deserved, and is more and more often being referred to as the supremely talented and versatile actor he is. I've been following him for a lot of years now, and believe me, I've noticed a difference. However, the myth about comic acting pertaining to Brendan and others still exists, so it never hurts to call it out. So thank you again. And finally, I'm so sorry to hear about your painful experience with your father. I understand why you may not want to see a movie like The Whale. If you feel it would be triggering for you, you shouldn't have to. It's a very emotionally intense movie about a father and daughter, and not for everyone. I wish you well and hope you can find healing and peace.
there’s just something about the gent.! 😉 how can you not admire, respect and appreciate.! ☺️😊 he’s extremely humble too.! ☺️😊 genuine… that’s the word i’m searching for.! 😃😉 ✌🏻🇦🇺🌏🤘🏻
I grew up, loving Brendan Fraser. My favorites are her a lot of his ones that you said we’re not popular at the box office is or with critics I loved Mrs. Winterbourne. I loved school ties. I love Encino man as well. I love to blast from the past bedazzled and even monkey bone I can’t remember whether I watched Journey to the center of the Earth or not but that is the only Jules Vern book I actually liked that was actually a good one. I prefer Wells to Vern I think I might’ve liked it, but like I said not when my favorite he did such fantastic stories
I loved Blast From the Past, BeDazzled, Airheads and Monkeybone! I've watched all of those movies more than once. I believe there must be many factors that determine whether a movie succeeds in the box office.
Excellent actor. I love Blast from the Past, School Ties, With Honors, The Mummy and The Whale, among others. He is a natural actor. He can really act in any role. Some really great actors are not really appreciated. He is funny, sad, depressed, silly, romantic….He is an action actor as well as a very good dancer. Imagine, Kirk Douglas, Cary Grant, and Peter O’Toole never won an Oscar. Al Pacino didn’t won any award for The Godfather, he is the godfather. Looking forward to seeing many more films with this talented actor.
I am 100% in agreement with you. He is superb. And has been vastly underrated. I do think that is getting better though, more people seem to be understanding and appreciating his fantastic talent these days. But still not as much as he deserves.
Ask Adam Shankman what a good dancer he is. On the 2 movies he choreographed he had to stand off camera shouting "Left foot, Brendan! Right foot, Brendan! He had a dance double for Blast from the Past.
I love Bredon, I think is just a sweet person, and a genuine person, and i think he is a great actor,,,,!!. You can feel him.... I love the mummy. 1 and 2 .. love. him
My favorite movie Brendan Fraser was in was Blast from the Past. The essential innocence of a man raised by doting parents in a bomb shelter, he was such fun to watch in that role.
This is not a complete list of Brendan Fraser movies. It’s missing a number of cameos after Encino man he also did cameos in in the army now and son-in-law. I’m not sure about biodome. I didn’t really like that one, but those are other movies. I love with Brandon Fraser and he steals the spotlight for a minute. I love him and Polly they have such chemistry.
enjoyed every film I've seen him in, but, my favorite was The Whale [anyone who doubts his acting ability needs to see this, my favorite comedy of his was Blast from the Past, the portrayed blend of innocence and earnestness was phenomenal to watch]
I'm so happy that Brendan Frazier came back and made a movie. I loved him and all the mummy movies and the ones in the 90s. Didn't understand what happened to him till I recently found out he was treated unfairly. The industry is disgusting. Hollywood is full of a lot of weirdos and pedophilers. And just plain horrible people that feed off talented actors and musicians. I'm so glad he made it back. He's a kind soul. He deserves only the best❤❤❤
10:47 “The biggest swing in jungle history” shown here always terrified me when I would watch George of the Jungle. I used to look away when he swung down. Now I look up to the stuntman for doing this death-defying swing! That had to be scary to do…
@@mytv89626 That scene was Brendan Fraser rope swinging off the cliff. He wanted to do the daring stunts himself. It’s the stunt scene where George has to swings off a cliff to save Ursula.
Am I the only one who’s favored Brendan Fraser movie is with honors? I believe that’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen; they consider it to be a comedy, but I believe it’s more than that; drama and content, It has a lot of performances that I like.

Neither did anyone else.
No blast from the past? What’s wrong with you?! Go watch that movie right meow!
I loved George of the Jungle so much! He did some amazing stunts for it.
Brendan Fraser in my opinion is one of the most underrated actors of his time.
I love him in every movie he has ever made❤
I don't think you know how many that is.
Blast from the past my favorite. I wore my DVD out watching over and over. Loved the idea of innocence he portrait as adult, due to the values his character was raised with while stuck in fall out shelter. The ideal gentleman the character displayed.

@mytv89626, curious what your personal beef is with Brendan? Spurned lover, disgruntled former employee, actor who lost out to him for a big part?
As much as I love his film roles, his performance on Scrubs is my favourite. Doesn’t matter how often I watch it, tears each time! And to discover his character's photography is an aspect of him... 😍😍

After that, he spent the better part of the 90s also excelling in dramatic roles, such as The Passion of Darkly Noon, Twilight of the Golds, and Gods and Monsters (and more.)
He has continued in that way alternating from one genre to the next throughout his career, and expressed that when he does one role, he intentionally turns around and does a completely different kind of role the next time.
how can you not admire, respect and appreciate.!
☺️😊
he’s extremely

I grew up, loving Brendan Fraser. My favorites are her a lot of his ones that you said we’re not popular at the box office is or with critics I loved Mrs. Winterbourne. I loved school ties. I love Encino man as well. I love to blast from the past bedazzled and even monkey bone I can’t remember whether I watched Journey to the center of the Earth or not but that is the only Jules Vern book I actually liked that was actually a good one. I prefer Wells to Vern I think I might’ve liked it, but like I said not when my favorite he did such fantastic stories
Blast from the Past, we watch it at least once a year. He came across as a gentle, wise, compassionate man, who is probably the same in his life.
Not in the least.
I loved Blast From The Past. One of my favorite movies. I've seen it more than once, and look foward to seeing it again.
SCHOOL TIES was excellent. I don't know why people are so surprised Brendan Fraser can act!
Brandan is handsome, great actor, and charming.
Brendan, I wish you much peace, love and success.
Live long and prosper, my friend 💕😎👍💕
I very much enjoyed his performance in "the quiet American".
He's a great actor and the sweetest guy.
I loved Blast From the Past, BeDazzled, Airheads and Monkeybone! I've watched all of those movies more than once. I believe there must be many factors that determine whether a movie succeeds in the box office.
He's a great man ❤
"Gods and Monsters," unquestionably.:)
Imagine, Kirk Douglas, Cary Grant, and Peter O’Toole
never won an Oscar.
1 and 2 .. love. him
I hate remakes, but yet mummy was brilliant. I love every actor in it. But Brendan is num1.
I loved Blast from Past!!! Was great & fun cast!
George of Jungle, Mrs Winterbourne too was awesome
Blast From The Past. Me and my family watched it over and over
My favorites are the Mummy franchise, Journey in the Center of the Earth, and The Whale
Wow, 6 out of 57.

I haven't seen the other ones
My favorite movie Brendan Fraser was in was Blast from the Past. The essential innocence of a man raised by doting parents in a bomb shelter, he was such fun to watch in that role.
He could play Tom Petty
This is not a complete list of Brendan Fraser movies. It’s missing a number of cameos after Encino man he also did cameos in in the army now and son-in-law. I’m not sure about biodome. I didn’t really like that one, but those are other movies. I love with Brandon Fraser and he steals the spotlight for a minute. I love him and Polly they have such chemistry.
Blast from the past! I love that show. Can not tell you how many times I have watched it.
Great bio-vid! Thank you.
My favorite was Blast From The Past. 2nd favorite---The Mummy.
Blast From The Past & Bedazzled are awesome movies.
Blast is my favorite.
Did you even mention him in scrubs??? Give a watch to season 3 ep 14 😭
There were 3. Funny, how no one watched the other two.
We need one of these for Alexander Skarsgaard!!!
I subscribed to your channel because of Brendan Fraser.
enjoyed every film I've seen him in, but, my favorite was The Whale [anyone who doubts his acting ability needs to see this, my favorite comedy of his was Blast from the Past, the portrayed blend of innocence and earnestness was phenomenal to watch]
He does his best acting in interviews.
Loved/crush on Fraser from the beginning. 90's gem.
IF he wasn't just like them, why would he still want to be in the industry? Think about it. He's a phony "victim".
Great actor, love a lot of his movies😊
Love this guy❤❤❤
A very fitting presentation for an intelligent person with great insight into himself, the human condition and pitfalls of the industry.
😂.
love George of the Jungle, and all of the Mummy series.
One of my favourite humans. What a deep professional too.
Hardly. After 2008 he became an unreliable, unstable, and unmedicated schizophrenic. He shouldn't have divorced his "caregiver".
I like Brendan Fraser grew up with him glad he made a comeback.
I want him to do some more actioncomedy👍
10:47 “The biggest swing in jungle history” shown here always terrified me when I would watch George of the Jungle. I used to look away when he swung down. Now I look up to the stuntman for doing this death-defying swing! That had to be scary to do…
Joey Preston and Jeff Jones. Credit where credit is due, not that Brendan ever gave them any.
@@mytv89626That was the Bay Bridge rope swing. The biggest swing in jungle history was done by Brendan Fraser and I think he got hurt doing it.
@@mytv89626He did the biggest swing in jungle history where I believe he got hurt.
@@mytv89626 That scene was Brendan Fraser rope swinging off the cliff. He wanted to do the daring stunts himself. It’s the stunt scene where George has to swings off a cliff to save Ursula.
I loved The Mummy but I’m favourite is The Whale. ❤
I loved Blast from the past
I loved Dudley DoRight❤❤❤
The Mummy all 3 were great. I all 3 DVD'S❤
Wonderful he was given what was due his acting. I enjoyed him❤
Am I the only one who’s favored Brendan Fraser movie is with honors? I believe that’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen; they consider it to be a comedy, but I believe it’s more than that; drama and content, It has a lot of performances that I like.
George of the Jungle and Encino Man were borh awesome ❤❤❤
George of the Jungle was an amazing stunt movie!
Blast From the Past is my favorite film !!
George of the Jungle and Encino Man were borh awesome ❤❤❤
Journey to the Center of the Earth ruled❤❤❤❤
George of the Jungle was so intense with his death defying stunts!
