As always Mandy - brilliant! Jeepers, I know all we Northerner love our food but these are real man sized sausage rolls. Gorgeoussssssssss. Can't beat onion in sausage rolls, finely chopped as you say. Have never thought about adding the likes of cheese or chutney though - on my 'to-do' list! Many thanks - you're both such a delight to watch and always produce fabulous food! x
They look devine, thank you. I make mine with pork sausage meat and a small packet of made up, but uncooked, sage and onion stuffing mix, salt and pepper, all squished together...really tasty too 😊
I sometimes put Caramelised onion chutney and cheese or Apple Sauce from the jar, both are lovely. I also love anything with Chillie in Sausage Rolls. I love these at Christmas.
There big ones .. and look smashing I'll have to do my version with black pudding so you can have a Watch they always go down well at party's etc ! yet again a great episode " Dinner Lady " they look great !
Watching you today was a tip ever with homemade sausage meat .I loved what you put in it and no doubt be much tastier then shop bought .I will definitely be making mine now .Those huge sausage rolls they are great .something to get your gob round them all those tiny ones I normally make .Great vlog thank you 👍🏻😊🩷
8 love home made sausage rolls, pasties and pies over bought ones any day. I’ve been thinking for a while now that I should stop being slack and make some sausage rolls, you may have just given me the incentive to make them. The pastry looked easy to make when you did it but I always thought puff pastry was really hard to make, I may give this one a go too after watching you make it. TFS Mandy and thanks for the time you always put in to making your videos for all of us. You are very much appreciated.
Hi lovely Amanda. Admire you so much and Ian. Love you for been so thrifty and no wasteage. Beautiful sausage rolls. Love to you both. Ann in Cumbria.xx. 🎉🎉🎉.
Amazing! It’s like a work of art watching you make lovely dough. You just make it look so easy. I might have to come over and get cooking lessons from you and Ian. Thank you for a great video!
They looked absolutely delicious. So nice all home made. Sausage rolls are so versatiles to eat with variety of meals or on their own. Have you made a meat loaf for video, also please please Yorkshire Curd tart. Thank you to such a lovely couple. ❤
Delicious! I use disposable icing bags to pipe the sausagemeat on to the pastry - saves so much trouble, and you can control the width of the filling by snipping off a wider or narrower bit off the end. But of course not good for the size of filling you've got here.
I’m ashamed to say I haven’t made pasty since I was at school prob about 30 years ago 🤣 but you’ve definitely inspired me to give this a bash, thanks x
Nice. We make ours with 500g pork and 500g beef sausage mince. We add two grated apples, two small or one large finely diced onion, two cups of breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, s&p. Cheers
@@thedinnerlady9180 I have an old family recipe for the best Lebanese cabbage rolls you’ve never heard of which isn’t on UA-cam nor in any cookbook outside of my family with one exception; I have shared this with Rik from Backyard Chef but he’s had it a year and says he can’t make it because lamb is too expensive in Thailand. Personally I think he’s scared, it does take some practice to get it perfect but even a failed attempt still tastes great as my family will attest. The recipe comes from my Uncle Mohammad who never wrote it down and has taken us nearly 40years to nail it down through trial and error. When you’re ready to try something totally different and absolutely delicious please let me know.
I make these every week. They're delicious. I use sage and onion seasoning, mustard powder, Tesco finest sausage meat (as they're on offer at 2 for £5 and good quality), plenty of pepper, some salt and pre-rolled puff pastry. Sometimes I add caramelised onions as well but the simpler it is, the better it tastes in my view! Yours look divine by the way.
Another belter Mandy Thankyou. I love the twist with the chutney !!! I bet they are gorgeous! Now I’ve got a couple of dishes I wondered if you could make? Can I please request chicken Kiev And a Yorkshire curd tart? Both are family favourites but I’ve never made either. Thank you for all the time you take to show us some fabulous dishes xxxx
Interesting how chicken Kiev is so popular in the UK,I haven’t seen it anywhere in the US since the 1970’s though I suppose you might still get it in a fancy Brighton Beach(Brooklyn,NY) Russian restaurant.😊
You could filter out the Brits from the rest of the World by dangling sausage rolls. Yours look absolutely top notch too! PS, my Mrs had a go at the 'real puff pastry' last Christmas, a bit faffy and time consuming, but it was ruddy incredible on the Boxing day sausage rolls.
@@thedinnerlady9180 Well veg oil is literally human poison (ultra processed oil), very clean in colour but so bad for us verses lard, beef fat (tallow) or olive oils.
Nice to see you enjoying the fruits of your labours! Great job as always. Without the chutney, I might dip mine in honey mustard. How about making lamb chops some Sunday? Love to Missy :)
Omg they look amazing. Desperate Dan sausage rolls. I made the brocolli and blue cheese soup last week along with the cheese and onion soda bread and both were delicious. Thank you ❤x
Hello sweet Dinner Lady, I have never been fond of sausage rolls, but my fatber Loved tbem, it was celabratory food/appetizer for Christmas and New Years. However, I would try yours. Debbie T. ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉 Debbie T. ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉

These look so good,I remember being taught to make rough puff pastry in school back in the 50’s,and making sausage rolls when I was a teenager, but never with this much meat.We never ate meat the way people do today in Britain, after all the first 10 years of my life, we were still in rationing.Last time I made them was in the 80’s when there was a German run deli close to my home, and the owner made Bratwurst,so I use those sausages to make the rolls, and Bratwurst made delicious rolls.😊
Just makes you realise that home cooking needs to be in every kitchen. There is no comparison to that processed crap the stores are chucking at us. Great watch Amanda.
These look so good, love watching your videos. I'd love to see you make cream splits, like a soft sweet roll, big stripe of pink or white icing, split down the middle then filled with fresh cream 😊😘
Hi Mandy. I've had a couple of strokes, am in a wheelchair with limited use of hands and legs.would the shop bought frozen puff pastry work for these as well. Thank you for your videos. My sister did her nursing training many years ago in Sunderland and used to bring her friend to come and stay with us in Liverpool. They're still in touch but I haven't seem her for many years and miss her cheerful, cheerful friendly accent. Its so lovely to hear your accent, it takes me back 42 years . x
Hi Mandy. If ever you decide to change career and think about going into catering. I would absolutely pie your pies and sausage rolls. We have nothing here in Yorkshire that I can find that makes pies and sausage rolls like you do. ❤
By Eck, them’s some belly bursting sausage rolls. Personally I’d add some chopped chilli pepper to the meat but due to the sesame seeds getting stuck between my teeth I would have to omit them, or possibly use poppyseeds instead.
@thedinnerlady9180 Thank you. Love whaching your technique .. i made Chowder today. i add bacon, shrimp ,halibut, and some king salmon ,potatoes, and onions used chicken stock and half and half creamer, i think it turned out pretty good. 😍
I love your down to earth ways.
