I have had many steak pies but never a steak pie with cheese, these look delicious and I am going to try these - thank you for taking the time to make all these lovely videos - much appreciated x
😋 😋 your a brilliant cook thy look absolutely delicious you should have a cookbook I’d be first to purchase it 👍🏽 I love all your cooking/baking thnx for video 🌸💝
Ex pat kiwi living in Cumbria uk. Fabulous take on a new Zealand favourite pie. Kiwis wouldn't have it with gravy and mushy peas just good old Watties tomato sauce 😂
Always blow the pie! 😅🔥🥧 Just a little tomato sauce on top to serve. Steamed peas and mashed potatoes go down well, too, "pea pie pud." Yum! If you can't tell, I'm a Kiwi, too! I hope you took one to your Kiwi friend! ❤
Hi guys, I have struggled with making homemade pastry for absolutely years, then I saw one of your other videos (Mince and Onion pies) and descided to give it a go, omg its exactly how you explained, it turn out perfectly. I have shared your videos with family and friends. I could always make the fillings but never the pastry haha. I am so happy I found your channel. I love that you just use the yolks and save the whites for something else, yolks give better colour and taste. Love your down to earth channel, love your accents too. keep them coming. Thank you ❤❤
Beautiful Pie and we all love them a good pie and this is a very good Pie! The Induction Hob is the future for sure and you should also get a UA-cam special award for cooking in the super high temps today Mandy
Omg those pies look real yummy,I think I would use Stilton cheese crumbled on top of the meat for a change but any cheese is ok for my taste !thankyou!now you can join Ian onthepatio for a well deserved rest before you tuck into those gorgeous pies!❤❤
The pies look amazing and I'll make them when the temperature cools a little. Please see the comment about the extension reel below. House fires have known to start with a coiled reel in use with a high power draw. We all do it though
Looks very appetising. I'd like to give this a go for my hubby as he loves pies and cheese. Could possibly also try blue stilton cheese. Can you provide the written recipe please?
This looks gorgeous! I'm sure Keef Cooks did something similar I think he used stilton. I must give these a go, when it cools off a bit. Cheese straws sound lovely too. Thank you for taking the time to give us your lovely recipes. Love to you both. xx
The cornflour tenderises the meat 😊 Love your little pie tins, I bought some silver foil ones and re use 😂 but those look great. I add Stilton to my steak and ale pies it's lush ❤
New ideas, practical home cooking, basic ingredients, comfort food. That's why I keep coming back. I also like to see things that you might do a little differently than I would, from here in Canada :) Interesting choice to use two different pastries... was that just to use up what you had on hand? Lol, love how Ian says it was easy and quick - two kinds of pastry, prep work, two-and-a-half hours to simmer, 40 minutes to bake - twice... Your turn to sit in the garden, Mrs. 💛
I am now living in New Zealand as I have said before and pies are certainly very popular so much so that a competition happens every year to find the best pie of the moment the competition has just happened this week went over 500 bakers present their pies. Many varieties of pies are sold at petrol stations and bought as a snack lunch etc
I lived in dunedin on the South island it was a done thing to stop off for a pie after a night out no curries in those days .there was a mobile pie shop ( an old van ). I fitted a gas meter with help from a bloke called bondy up a power pole on the main drag he used to come on connect the electricity and gas and made some of the best pies
Beef and cheese pies are popular in Australia too. If I could eat cheese like I used to I’d really enjoy these pies but I can only eat a little cheese now. They do look great Amanda. I might make some pies soon. I do love them and I’ve noticed if I buy one from a shop, I’m doubled up in pain but if I make them I’m fine so it will be home made for me. Nom, nom, nom.
The pie looked delish, I love watching you make pastry Mandy, always makes me want to make it. Also, lovely photo of both of you at the end X Just read a comment re the noise of the induction hob, I honestly don't notice it, if it's cheaper and easier for you to use and what's more you prefer using it, then you do you!
They look amazing. Can I ask where you got your workstation from, please? It looks exactly what I've been needing. Thank you for your lovely videos. Always waiting for the next delicious food recipe you give to us. ❤xx
Howay man Ian, easy, quick tea? The poor Mrs has been at it all day ya puddin' 😅 Great recipe honey, One of the many great things I remember from our visit to New Zealand 😊😊😊
Cracking looking pies, I know it's a NZ recipe, but I don't see how the cheese improves this pie and I love cheese. I saw Gordon Ramsey in the back garden!
Great looking pies though I'm not so certain Beddy is right when he says it's an easy 'quick' tea ha :) Maybe quick coz i'd scran in down in a moment. Without the mushy peas though :)
Hi..my Mom was a wonderful cook! However she kept her recipes in her head. She used to make wonderful cabbage rolls and mashed potatoes. I've tied to recreate her cabbage rolls and it's a fail every time❤❤❤❤! Have you got any tips?
@@thedinnerlady9180 Good morning, the meat filling has ground beef uncooked white rice onion and a little tomato paste. Then each cabbage roll has the filling and after rolled tomato sauce poured over top with a little shredded sauerkraut and baked. My cabbage leaves are either boiled too little or too much. Leaving either soggy or crunchy mess.
I was just wondering how much you spend on average a week for groceries? Also do you make like a table for what you’ll be having that week and then do the shopping? I end up spending so much on groceries and I’m trying to cut down so just looking for ideas. Also could you do a what I eat in a day if possible? I have a habit of snacking too and wonder how people can have 3 meals and snacks for a low cost
We do a meal plan on a Friday night check what we have in the freezer first to use up we average of £50 a week sometimes more sometimes less we don't eat much during the day maybe what's left over from the last nights meal for lunch x
@@thedinnerlady9180 ah thank you so much! Would you possibly be able to do a video on that? Like how you plan your meals for the week and then your shopping haul?

put your cornflour with salt and pepper in a bag and chuck your meat in and it covers better.
