  • Golden Ears West Canyon Trail is one of the most popular but tough trails in BC. It is about 24km round trip and 1400m in elevation. We hiked up via West Canyon Trail and camped at Panorama Ridge on the top.
This video shows how the terrain changes as you go up and where the water sources are so hopefully it will help the first time hikers out there.
Food I cooked during the hike:
    - Marinated Rice with Canned Fish and Bamboo Shoots
    - Tomato Pasta with Parmigiano Reggiano
    * Cooking scenes will be uploaded separately
Gear I used during the hike:
    - Gregory Stout 60L
    - The North Face Stormbreak 1
    - Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite Regular
    - Montbell Down Hugger 800 #2
    - Teton Portable Pillow
    - SOTO Field Hopper
    - Primus essencial trail stove
    - Boundless Voyage Titanium Pot Pan Set
    - Morakniv Companion
    - AGPTEK Waterproof Rain Poncho
    - Sawyer Water Filter
    - Cascade Mountain Trekking Poles

Really enjoyed this video - thanks for sharing (including the food and beverage ASMR lol). Couple of questions. 1. What time of year did you do this hike? 2. How technical is the hike from Alder Flats to Panorama Ridge with a backpack? That part of the hike scares me.

      Thank you for your comment.
      1. We did this in Aug. There was no snow on the trail so it was easier.
      2. It is not an easy hike for sure. You would need to climb some rocky cliffs as shown in the videos too. There are no water sources from Alder Flats to Panorama Ridge so make sure you will prepare enough water. But after all, it was a great hike and I would definitely go back when it is sunny!
