    Very nice setup, just an input it's better cooking in batches, 1. Quick stir fry all the veggies(carrots, onion & cabbage) to reduce the moisture in very high heat and lots of tossing.2 either deep fried/stir fried the meat and take out. 3. At low heat add the garlic rise the temperature slowly and mix everything (meat & veggies) add the seasoning and souce set the temperature at high heat and keep tossing and add the chives & bean sprouts give quick tossing and done, the reason to batching is too prevent overcooked the veggies and drying the meat , so at the end you've crunchy veggies with juicy meats...

    Great ramen, but this is not bushcraft. :D You used a gas stove (A full one, no less), a cast iron pot. I'd call this a step below glamping. :D (or above, depending on how you look at it) I admire that you went to the trouble of making a hearty bowl of ramen while camping. It's not a small undertaking.

    • @campshokudo5768
      @campshokudo5768 Рік тому

      Haha, it is just a part of the title as I "bushcrafted" the tripod.😆 Ya, it was fun making the authentic ramen. Thanks for your comment!

      @@campshokudo5768 saw the gas camp stove... I have Solo Stoves, camp stoves and firepit (Ranger) I play with... they are wood burning stoves that get very hot with dry twigs... stir-fry hot... I have used woks on them... I also have a lot of cast iron I got mostly for my outdoor cooking fireplace I built in my yard... my Solo Stoves get hotter than the fireplace and that has cooking shelves instead of tripods... I also have tripods for the camp stoves... One of my favorite movies is "Ramen Girl"... I understand that real ramen is an art form... mostly I have done the instant ramen... so your video had me curious... I was curious if the pork you were browning in the skillet could have been done in the Dutch oven first. The egg being soft boiled I would have been tempted to do on a tripod in a Billy can... I remember doing rice in a Billy can on a tripod... fast heating and moved out of the way to absorb water... this was over a wood fired camp stove... the tripod was fine for the rice... I went on with stir-fry in wok over same camp stove... I think part of the art of fixing ramen camping would be sticking with wood fires... it might require more tripods or a rack with multiple chains instead of a tripod (I have 3 tripods of different types) ... the simmering for hours is a nice touch, it could have been done on the gas camp stove with a 5 gallon tank attachment... a longer firepit might have been possible, or two side by side... a bare ground campfire and multiple racks or tripods... Another option other than gas, could have been a solar powered induction cooker system... but that could be done with a couple induction hobs... The gas camp stove was a bit distracting... nice wood tripod... I have two different Lodge tripods and a Solo Stoves portable tripod... I also have a T-post home made tripod that has a stainless steel chain for hanging half an old pressure tank... that I have been thinking of using for a suspended firepit...

    • @lethaleefox6017
      @lethaleefox6017 11 місяців тому

      I did rewatch to get a look at the firepit... you could have put a cooking grate above it for using it in place of gas stove prehaps... the Dutch oven above a cooking grate might have stayed out of the way of the other cooking chores you were doing... any idea of what a traditional method before gas camp stoves might have been?

    • @campshokudo5768

    • @campshokudo5768
      @campshokudo5768 11 місяців тому

      Ya, I could have done that as well. This firepit is very small. It takes a long time to cook ramen soup so I wanted to make sure there was nothing between the fire and the oven this time. Traditional method before gas stove? I don't know...I would say wood stove and charcoal.. Thanks for your comments!
