I had to pause to take it all in! Lmaooooooooo bruh and they kept cutting to the customers eating. Sorry you’re getting this 6months later but i had to reply 🤣😩
34:48 This entire sequence is amazing. Julieta being obviously dismayed of how low quality the cooks have been all service culminates to a pure despondent response to Gordon's question about the burning smell then him audibly mentally processing what he heard and reacting in disbelief in lieu of anger that it was nachoes is something worthy of multiple rewatches.
More than he helped these restaurants, Gordon discouraged people from opening restaurants without any knowledge and experience, which is great. I hope that he also saved people like poor patti, by showing them what could happen to them if they fund someone like Vic. This show was so educational and necessary.
People also need to understand that you may be fantastic at home cooking with restaurant quality food but that doesn't translate to a restaurant environment. Resturants are stressful and without the cooldowns ordinary people have between family fiests like Christmas dinners and such. That is every night vs a few times a year. Also home cookers doesn't face financial ruin for some overcooked meals.

Fun fact: Fiesta Sunrise actually closed down BEFORE this episode even aired on FOX and the crippling debt of Patti got so bad, she ended up leaving her mom and Vic and move away with her husband to now work at Fiesta Mexico in New York which believe it or not…was actually started by Patti's biological father.
@@johnjoe2946 all it takes is one quick google search to see he's actually telling the truth. the restaurant closed before the episode aired so why tf u lyin for no reason?
Apparently, this restaurant closed at september 2008, 6 months after the emission... No idea of what Vic and Yolanda are become, but Patty has now a new restaurant, "Fiesta Mexico", in Orangeburg, NY, that has pretty good reviews.
I didnt see an update from the community so I went to look. Apparently they closed in 2008 before the episode even aired and a few monhts after the cameras left. There is a gas station now where the restaurant stood. Apparently, the business was seized due to the overwhelming amount of back taxes owed. No one knows what happened to the family after that.
Omg, right? Infuriating and I know people like this. There's no fixing this situation. This shithole goes into the "Even Gordon Ramsay can't fix this" pile. There's no way in hell this place stayed open.
the fact that Yolanda accepted to ruin her daughter’s credit and her relationship with her husband so that her own husband could bullshit a restaurant is so sad…. she’s a terrible mother, wrong priorities !! shame
What I'm confused about is why did she take her daughters money, not to finance a restaurant, but the SECOND restaurant because the first one failed!?!? Why tf you opening a second one when the first one got fucked?? And why in the world did the daughter agree if she knew his first one failed??
I feel so bad for Patti, Vic played her like a fiddle and her mom basically let him. She probably could have been smarter about it but you just wouldn't expect family to do you dirty like that...
Well... I have to disagree, Patti 100% allowed her money to be thrown away and all you needed to do to notice problems is the eat the food and step into the kitchen even once. Doesn't make Vic any less of an asshole, but she was the boss and one who's money was on the line. But she didn't make even ounce of effort to fix the problems. And mom is honestly the worst, she got her daughter to finance already failed business and let Vic just keep doing it.
@@mukkaar My guess is that it was cultural family values. Latino and Asian cultures have some serious issues on this front. You do EVERYTHING because "family" which usually means the kids pay (financially, emotionally, mentally) for being born until the parent dies. It's not family, it's "you owe me for having you" mentality. I have no doubt Patti would of felt like a social pariah for not helping her poor parents, the people who "clothed her, fed her, bathed her" ya know, did what they legally had to do by making the decision to have a kid. She's now disassociated to that restaurant and Vic died of obesity. It's pretty shitty of her mother to of chosen her lover over her daughter like that. She probably guilted her daughter into the help. Who we choose as a partner is a reflection of our own states and mental health. Going for an abusive asshole is a signification that the mother didn't think she deserved better and clearly couldn't see how much it was tearing everyone apart.
Family can be pretty much dirty. To me Yolanda is an abused woman, that suffers illness, look at her face. I guess she´s had a stroke already. I dislike such pervert guys. By the way, you will miss words like hate in my conversation.
I certainly get what you're saying, but not always; it's whoever is paying the bills. For example: if one's name is on a deed, but another's is on the mortgage, on paper, yes, the deed owner owns the property. However, if there's a dispute of ownership, and it comes down to a civil case, more times than none the favor is going to whomever is financially upkeeping it. In this case, Patti would win hands down since Vic has the personality, let alone the business sense, of a wet paper bag. Anyway, not to contradict what you're saying, just thought I'd put another perspective out there.
Then she, as owner, should dismiss her management. Fiesta Sunrise was a relational abuse case study, and this edition of 'Kitchen Nightmares' shone a light on it, but I suspect, only just scratched the surface.
Dude whoever is producing this show is a god. The cutting to people eating as Gordon shows the insanely foul food they’re serving and then Gordon grunting as he carries the bucket of beans out to customers was fucking gold on top of fucking platinum

People also need to understand that you may be fantastic at home cooking with restaurant quality food but that doesn't translate to a restaurant environment. Resturants are stressful and without the cooldowns ordinary people have between family fiests like Christmas dinners and such. That is every night vs a few times a year. Apparently the restaurant closed shortly after the episode and Patti opened a new restaurant that is doing well and still running

Honey, if you own everything on paper,
then you OWN EVERYTHING…
