A Truck Campbell Yes but this play a lot much lower tones than other subs. (If i'm correct)
BollardSpeaker 26 yea, most subs go down to like 30, good ones go down to like 15
It ended up tuned lower than expected, because the port is down firing and doesn't have enough clearance (volume) to achieve the tuning it was designed for. On top of that, the restriction caused by down firing it that close to the floor, you are now going to get port compression as you turn it up. Compression = dB loss and frequency response is effected as well. I suggest getting custom spike feet to raise it up higher from the floor.

DesertHawk Anonymous What garbage are you talking about, the sub is 2 ohm DVC which most car subs are and are almost evertime wired to 1 ohm. Even the two white ones are 4 ohm subs.
Car audio 4 ohms home 8 ohms? What? This sub has himself amplifier inside so he need only to connect the rca cables and give the amp outside power from wall...

I’d be interested in hearing such DIY systems in person. I have a hard time believing the sound quality would be on par of what I’m running on my first or second setup but who knows. Probably significantly cheaper building it yourself though, can’t argue that lol.

The sub will need more power and tune to low fq
What you built is called a Sealed subwoofer. If the airspace available to the subwoofer is in its requirements for performance, then you're good.

How many amps is the ultimax sub getting 500w? Also why not just put it in a sealed so you don't have to worry about the tuning and the few other negatives of a ported box. I would just go sealed for SQ.
A correctly built ported box can match or surpass the performance of a sealed box.
Thats true but i dont want to spend the money for someone to build it since i dont know how to build it myself. Plus that would be a pretty big box to port it to 25hz.
You could try a quarter wave negative taper TLine.

Tline's are a kind of box, yes! They're built on a whole different principe than a ported box. They don't have a port, rather, a duct. A resonant duct.
