Glad you guys did a review of this, and that it's actually good too! Keen to pick it up eventually to add to the neverending backlog 😅 thanks, SwitchUp!
Highly impressed with the performance. Even though I am a massive Star Wars fan, I will be waiting to see if the second one also releases to the Switch and then look for a bundle. I played this back in the day on the XBox 360.
Also, do not forget the ultimate PSP version. That had way way more tons of crap than the other versions ever had. Was called Force mode and it even had historical campaign missions like the Anakin and Obi-Wan duel and they did it so perfectly, so well 🙏🕹️🎮💯💜
The majority of games I’ve played recently run up a vast amount of hours and trying to balance gaming around real life stuff are quite a challenge in itself. I guess it’s nice to play a short game like this for once without the need of collecting a million items or picking up a ton of side quests! (HFW). I last played this back in the 360 years and would be nice to revisit this story as I remember it being quite enjoyable. Great review chaps.
I got this for both Wii and Sony PSP, I always kinda hoped for a version that combined motion options with the PSP button/handheld options. I almost can't believe I'm going to buy this game a 3rd time 😂
I grew up with an xbox 360 copy and I absolutely loved that game so when I checked the eshop a week ago to see what was new I was completely blown away with the big nostalgic logo. I instantly pre-ordered it without hesitation so you can imagine my surprise when I found out it was the wii version they were porting. As soon as I saw the trailer, I was immediately let down, but I wasn't gonna let that stop me from enjoying a new experience in a galaxy I'm VERY familiar with; and to be honest, I'm glad I didn't let my disappointment linger. I just got to the first raxus prime mission and I'm already loving the combat and how it keeps on surprising me when I stumble into a move I had no idea about. For example, in the fight with the jedi hunter sith on coruscant, I figured out that if you lock on and dash backwards, you'll do a stylish little evade. On the 360 version, I would've never thought to even lock on in the first place, seeing starkiller actually dance around the enemy so gracefully like that while the camera was right on starkiller the whole time blew my mind and actually got me invested in the fight. I can't wait to see what other surprises this game has in store for me Tldr: Neurodivergent bitch didn't like change before, is currently falling head over heels for gameplay now
I’ve played through all the other Star Wars games on the switch and despite being a very recent Star Wars fan I’ve enjoyed the games (currently about half way through Lego skywalker saga) and the movies/spin offs so I’ll definitely be picking this one up once I’ve finished Lego nice to see it running and 60fps too
Just letting you know that a lot of people say it’s to blurry. I know a fix to this.. go to accessibility & scroll down until you find motion blur & turn off
Great to see this is a solid release and they only thing missing that would have made it perfect would have been the inclusions of the PSP's extra modes Order 66, and Historic Missions but oh well that version still has a purpose for me and I'll wait until LRG's release to get this one
I've seen a playthrough of the Ultimate Sith Edition on PC many years ago, and oh boy, this game totally turns you into a full-on badass! Great that it's finally on Switch!
For anyone curious the switch version is a remaster of the Wii version of the game. There is also a pc/ps3/x360 variant, a ps2 variant, a psp variant, and a ds variant as well. All the variations play differently, have different graphics, different game modes and some even have different story moments that don't happen in others. Gotta collect em all!
You forgot the main selling point of this game: the Wii version (along with the PS2 and PSP versions) had more content than the 360/PS3 version. This game for me was just fun. Kinda like GTA where I would love to just drive around and see how many stars I could get. In this it was hiw brutal I could be with enviornments and stormtroopers. That small gameplay loop was rewarding for me.
Thanks for the timely review! It sounds like the developers did a good job bringing the game over with a reasonably nice set of enhancements. I quite enjoyed the game on its original release but don't own it anymore, so I'm going to wishlist this and maybe pick it up on sale somewhere down the line. I'm currently getting my Star Wars fix with the Skywalker Saga. :)
Was going to comment, but then saw you have put exactly how feel! I’m hoping we see more Star Wars ports for switch! But as you said….skywalker saga is fulfilling my Star Wars fix!

I'm glad that Force Unleashed finally came on the switch because, in my eyes, the only StarWars game that comes close is being similar is Fallen Order. Love the Force Unleashed series and hope the sequel will get a port as well. Thanks for doing the review 😁
Man I remember playing this game so much I think I replayed it over 100 times back when this used to be my only game on the psp and I played it on the Wii as well along with the sequel
I played the original so much back on the 360 and have revisited it over the years on the current Xbox’s and most recently the Series X, this version looks like it includes a different take enough for me to pick it up on the switch. Thanks for your review I can’t wait to buy it later today! 😊
This game blowed my mind when it first came to PSP and it was my only console. . It was my first game to play as kick ass jedi and I am happy to see it is not 60€ or 40€ like what nintendo would do but 20. Not bad for Switch standards.
Superb review, sounds like Aspyr are finally starting to get things right ... talking of which, I'm still waiting for KOTOR to appear in a Patched Up video, lol. I'm a fan of The Force Unleashed and still have the Wii and 360 versions (I always preferred the Wii version, so I'm happy it's the base for this port) and not in a huge rush to buy this again ... but some time down the line at a discounted price I may well be tempted, cos feeling The Force flow is just so good in this game.

I do however appreciate you doing the sale videos and including physical sales. Thanks again, happy gaming
It honestly would have been nice if they added in content from all the versions of Force Unleashed and released them on the platforms that way. So then it would truly be a remastered version and the definitive version. Still feel as tho it could have looked better than the other versions too. Still tho glad people enjoy it.

I was kind of hoping Aspyr would find a way to combine the Wii and PSP versions so that we could get an all in one package with the optional motion controls of the Wii and the additional content from the PSP version (Order 66 and Historical Missions). However, I am still impressed as the Wii version is my second favorite version (PSP being my first and the HD versions on 360 and PS3 being my third, least favorite being the PS2). Maybe Aspyr could add those features as DLC and/or an update?
I feel like aspyr are now really getting the hang of how to port these old games to switch. I really hope they revisit some of their older titles like republic commando and touch them up a bit performance wise.

I was at the celebration event when they had the concept art for this game and next to the new Lego Star Wars and KOTOR it’s my favorite Star Wars game probably
After growing up playing the Wii version and recently picking up the Ultimate Sith Edition on the PC, I can say this was a pleasant surprise. If later down the line the Switch version gets a DLC update which incorporates the "Historic Missions/Order 66" content from the PSP version and adapted the Dark Side Tatooine and Hoth DLC missions from the PS3/360/PC versions, then this would be the Complete Definitive Version for me.
Been anticipating this one was gonna wait for your review, but couldn’t resist when I saw it in the eshop last night. Glad the performance is up to snuff, and it’s a good all around port.
You know you’re a SwitchUp fan when you can guess what the score will be. I guessed a B- and sure enough, haha. Still waiting for that coveted “perfect score” with 20s across the board! 👍🏻
If you've only played the PS3/360/PC version, this version is pretty much a completely different game. The bosses, levels, enemies, and locations are all so much different to the next gen version. In many ways this is a much more epic version of the story even if the visuals and technology aren't quite as good.
I still would really like some sort of remake, really just take the best looking version of the game, add the motion controls, and bring up the resolution. I like the version on switch, but it jus leaves me wishing I was playing on 360, which is at my dad's house 4 hours away
Good to see that I can use standard button controls and overall it's a solid game. I'm hoping for a retail release because I really want to avoid waiting 6 months or more from limited run games.
I replayed this and the sequel again. And honestly, I have no interest in ever touching Jedi Fallen Order again. Man this is so much better. Probably the best Star Wars game.
I wish an updated version would come to Steam. I recall the PC port being broken. I loved the game on my 360 back in the day, and the PSP version was really cool too!
The controls cannot be beaten though. Motion controls with Force Powers are ridiculously amazing! Still, I was hoping they'd use the PC, Xbox, PS, versions, and give it the Wii's controls.
It was released on the PlayStation Portable (PSP), not the Vita. It’s playable on the Vita, but the PSP version had some features the Wii version did not.
Not the same version friend. This is the PSP and Wii version. The controls are AMAZING, but you'll be missing some cool setpieces and force grip loses as much freedom as it gains; no y axis control.
With points in Arc Dex and Strength, occult scaling and bleed are identical, but you get more bleed with blood affinity. Also, Beastman’s curved swords have higher AR with bleed affinity. And Gargoyle’s Twinblades have higher AR and hit 6 times per jump, so that trumps curved swords by a long shot.
I’ve never played a game with motion yet and I’ve had my switch for quite some time now lol. I forget about them. I use a dobe controller in hand held about 98% of the time. Looks like this would be so much fun. Thank you for the video! Need to look through my library now for more motion games
Episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith (PS3), was Force Unleash's prequel, Nintendo and LucasArts need to bring ROTS to the Switch too! that game you play as Anakin from Episode 3, it was highly underated..and had great visuals and sound...even movie cut scenes!ROTS, kickstarted the upgrade skill set system that is in FU1 and 2...
Excited about this one, but I might wait for a sale. Hope this means the second one shows up at some point Great job as always, you guys are my go-to review channel. Cheers!
Awesome review as always lads! I initially discovered the Force Unleashed back in the days with the second installment on PS3 (Force Unleashed 2), and boy does this seem a vastly superior game ! Two key take away : - I too want to flap my arms like a headless chicken ; - duel mode seems awesome - and we really need a proper Star Wars (2D or 3D) fighting game, and this is beyond me why we have never got one. Cheers
I played the original a ton, was so much fun just decimating waves of stormtroopers ans the story was really fun. Never played the wii port, but I think I'll still pass on motion controls. It'll be a fun Nostalgia trip on the switch.
Not interested since it isn't based on the PSP version which had Historical Battles. I know, it makes sense why Nintendo would remaster their WII version but my favorite memory of this game was that PSP mode, it let me play my fantasy of fighting the Bespin Duel from Vader's perspective. I'm good with my emulation of it on an 11" screen using a PS4 controller.
Thank goodness I waited for your review I've been doing this thing where I buy it anyways and it's a mistake But this one looks great I loved it when I played it on xbox and I'm going to buy it in about 1 hour from now Thank you
I'm glad they brought this to the switch... but I Hate that starkiller isn't holding his saber like he normally does. I thought something felt off when I played the game
I'm kinda on the wall with this one ,it being a lot cheaper through backwards compatibility on series x and it being a lot cheaper there. Maybe a later pick up when it drops in price.

Good to see that I can use standard button controls and overall it's a solid game. I'm hoping for a retail release because I really want to avoid waiting 6 months or more from limited run games.
Honestly might be at retail in a bundle eventually, but you’ll probably wait even longer for that than waiting for LRG
Love this game and Aspyr will absolutely put out a physical version eventually. Hopefully pairing it with Kotor 😁
I already pre ordered the physical version from them
Perfect timing for my lunch break 🤣🤣 Not really interested in this one but awesome review as always ^_^
I played both the wii version and ps3 versions of this game. I have to say the wii version is the definitive edition of this game.
I replayed this and the sequel again. And honestly, I have no interest in ever touching Jedi Fallen Order again. Man this is so much better. Probably the best Star Wars game.
The Expanded Universe/Legends continuity will ALWAYS be better than the " Disney canon ".😊
Great review! I was unsure about buying this title but your review sold it well & it looks like a great port. Thanks and keep up the good work.
I wish an updated version would come to Steam. I recall the PC port being broken. I loved the game on my 360 back in the day, and the PSP version was really cool too!
I had no idea the wii version of the game was so VASTLY different from xbox360.
The controls cannot be beaten though. Motion controls with Force Powers are ridiculously amazing!
Still, I was hoping they'd use the PC, Xbox, PS, versions, and give it the Wii's controls.
The fact that it runs in 60 fps kinda helps justify them using the Wii version of the game. It looks very smooth and the visuals are ok if not great.
The reflections suprised the heck outta me first time playing it runs great and looks great on the switch
I do remember when you first meet Juno in the way version the camera has you looking at her from bottom to top lol
Loved this game back in the day
got this one firmly on my wish list i can feel that sale coming
Had I not beat this game up so bad on the PC, I might be interested in on my Switch.
It was released on the PlayStation Portable (PSP), not the Vita. It’s playable on the Vita, but the PSP version had some features the Wii version did not.
Yep a slip of the tongue - I ALWAYS do that with Vita and PSP it's a curse. Third time now
I do the same! This one’s one of my all time fav games though so I think the specs are etched into my brain somewhere. 🤦♂️
I played this for XBOX years ago. Great game.
YO BEEN WAITING FOR THIS, this channel is great, if a game is bad they will say or if a game is awesome,
wait for the sale
Physical copies are available for pre-order from Limited Run Games
Biggest woe is without order 66 mode, that psp mode was the best
Same to character historical fights obi Wan foddering awaking was great
Loved this game back in the day on 360! May have to replay it on the go, so glad the performance is smooth on switch.
Not the same version friend. This is the PSP and Wii version. The controls are AMAZING, but you'll be missing some cool setpieces and force grip loses as much freedom as it gains; no y axis control.
@@thesurvivorssanctuary6561 I know just glad the switch version runs smoothly.
This is one of my favourite Star Wars games, so getting this for sure. Worth it for to nostalgia value alone.
Beat this on my PSP a few years back. Great game & story
This is the review I was waiting for. Let's go!
What game are you talking about!?
@@SwitchUpYt lmao sorry thought I was commenting on another video 😂
Been thinking of getting this game your videos allwes help me make a choice thanks as allwes guys
Man I bought it off limited run games! But I can't wait for such long shipping!!! I want to record videos already.
I’ve never played a game with motion yet and I’ve had my switch for quite some time now lol. I forget about them. I use a dobe controller in hand held about 98% of the time. Looks like this would be so much fun. Thank you for the video! Need to look through my library now for more motion games
Can't wait to buy this😍
You'll enjoy it!
I wasn’t looking to get this as it’s the wii version, but I’m now waiting for it to be in one of the sales vids and I’ll add it to my backlog
Only 6 hours? wow that's really short. I was excited for this since I never played it, but I guess I'll have to wait for a discount.
So glad the motion controls work decently enough
Excited about this one, but I might wait for a sale. Hope this means the second one shows up at some point
Great job as always, you guys are my go-to review channel. Cheers!
Great review. Been waiting for this one!
I played it on 360 back in the day so I see no reason to return to it, but it is nice to have it on a more recent console.
Awesome review as always lads!
I initially discovered the Force Unleashed back in the days with the second installment on PS3 (Force Unleashed 2), and boy does this seem a vastly superior game !
Two key take away :
- I too want to flap my arms like a headless chicken ;
- duel mode seems awesome - and we really need a proper Star Wars (2D or 3D) fighting game, and this is beyond me why we have never got one.
Cheers
Yes I remembered doing the 2nd game after doing the 1st one and oh god that second game is trash in comparison to the 1st one.
The Revenge of the Sith game is--in my opinion--the closest we ever got.
I owned the PSP version as well and loved it!😁
I’m so glad they ported the ps2/wii version. Hope they port the wii version of 2 over
Thank goodness I waited for your review I've been doing this thing where I buy it anyways and it's a mistake But this one looks great I loved it when I played it on xbox and I'm going to buy it in about 1 hour from now Thank you
So great if I just had to get this game, I’ll be playing the Wii version that I haven’t played since 2012 lol
I had no idea this was released on the PS2 that is crazy
I'm glad they brought this to the switch... but I Hate that starkiller isn't holding his saber like he normally does. I thought something felt off when I played the game
I'm kinda on the wall with this one ,it being a lot cheaper through backwards compatibility on series x and it being a lot cheaper there. Maybe a later pick up when it drops in price.
Sam Witwer is so overlooked, he needs his own role in the star wars shows
Hes darth maul in like everything
@@jacksonshires4000 I meant live action specifically
Thanks! Totally forgot the release date was today
