You’ve done it again! You go above and beyond, the fact that you even tried doing this skit for a $20 game and to Entertain us loyal viewers! You’re epic with your videos, early on news and have been an enjoyment to the gaming community.
Eathen Alexander I get that but in no way did he do this for “loyal fans” and he pretty much did just that wrote a script and read it talked about everything they told me him to and marked it as a review when it should be called an ad. There’s no above and beyond just them doing exactly what they are paid to do, nothing wrong with that but in no way is this for the “fans” it’s for his wallet.
I too was initially baffled on the choice to port the Wii version rather than the more visually impressive 360/PS3 version, but with the support for motion controls and the performance bump to 1080p 60fps, it makes more sense. For $20 I fell they are offering a solid Star Wars experience.
I've played the PC and Wii versions in the past and it's WAY more fun on the Wii. Plus the story seems more fleshed-out. We don't have "What-If" DLC missions, but we get the Jedi Temple levels which add so much to Starkiller's story and bring you deeper into the character. The Wii/Switch port is, despite the "worse" graphics, the superior game experience.
@@KamenRiderGumo But it's not just the graphics that are bad. The voice acting is way more monotone and doesn't have the emotion the PS3 version had. The same with the graphics, the PS3/360 version had way better facial animation that conveyed the emotion of the characters. The PS3 version is the one I originally played which makes the cutscenes in this Wii port virtually unwatchable for me, I just can't. The only good thing I can say is at least it's only $20.
@@KamenRiderGumo Nah, the extra missions are just fillers, like you came back to the Jedi temple and other levels like at least two times, and the stiff, robotic cutscenes didn't deliver the emotion like the PS3 version. You guys are just blinded by your Nostalgia, and I'm speaking as someone who grew up with the PS2 version but now enjoy the PS3/PC version way more. The PS3 version also has way more destruction physic and fun characters AI acting more realistic like grabbing whatever they can when they get lifted off, rather than just stiff ragdoll in the PS2/Wii version because of inferior hardware. The PS3/360/PC version is the definitive experience playing as Starkiller, imo.

The Wii version was the version I played. I remember having an absolute blast and look forward to sharing this experience with my niece and nephew on their Switches!
I rarely comment on videos, but I really have to say this video was great! The clip you showed from the movie was really cool. It was fun to watch you act in it, and I would love to see more in the future. All the work you put into this video truly shows, I am incredibly impressed. I like how you took the situation where you got sick, that first seemed like a nightmare, and adapted the review to it. Instead of scrapping the movie completely and doing a simple review, you told a whole story about the making of this video. This was definitely the right choice and it made the whole video that much better. I was entertained the whole way through the video. You truly did an amazing job!
Just wanna make a small correction, the wii version doesn't actually have the most content. With that version of the game, all consoles it was on had different bonus content. Ps2 had nothing to believe, wii had duel mode, but psp had the most. It had a mode where you can play movie battle with force unleashed powers, it had an order 66 wave mode, and it had a single player duel mode similar to mortal kombat towers
You have convinced me to try this game. :) Also you can train cats to wear things. I've never tried it personally, but I did harness train mine. Same concept. They don't like something touching all around them and will walk backwards or fall on their side, BUT you can slowly introduce something and distract with treats and toys and eventually they gradually progress to just hanging out, or walking around like normal with it on.
That's how I felt about the motion controls in Skyward Sword. Played it for the first time on Switch and the improved motion controls were real fun. Worked great.
Agreed! I watched my brother play SS HD (we LOVED and replayed the OG a ton, lol), and it was great! We really didn't have much trouble at all with the OG controls, but even we could tell that the Switch version just felt 'smoother,' and it was really nice! lol.
1. Simon making air biscuits is the best thing ever 2. The post-rona effect in the tiny bit you successfully wrung out actually provided an amazing level of method realism and I am very glad you didn't finish it out because I for one prefer alive Wood to Not Alive Wood.
When you mentioned that this was a port of the Wii version, I was initially bummed a bit. But it definitely aged bettter than the other versions in terms of fun gameplay. The other versions are prob kind of boring despite the better graphics based on how 3rd person games are so different now.
Yea I mean the gameplay itself is pretty repetitive and I’m a huge fan of this game. So the motion controls make the campaign way more fun and creative and the duel mode adds extra playability with friends. I definitely preferred that over just better graphics
I actually replayed the PC version of both games last year (after Fallen Order) and I can say it still holds up. Graphics are still pretty good, especially now that my PC can actually run this on max settings. Gameplay also holds up I'd say, because even if it's a tad repetitive it's also pretty short and sweet. And pushing Stormtroopers off the edge is always fun. Obviously Fallen Order is technically more advanced but I really hate all the faces in that one... why do we need to make fictional people look like real actors?
I played this on the wii, ps3 and the second one on the ps3 as well. I friggin loved both games and their Easter eggs and the music too!! I would recommend this game for anyone looking for a unique Star Wars game… but I feel like the ps3 version looked so much better! Happy gaming all!
In front of the camera is a fun space adventure, behind the camera is a gritty documentary about overcoming a challenge to get the sponsored content out on time.
This is the version that they made for ps2, psp, and Wii. I played it on the 360 and psp back in the day and loved them both. I loved the way the 360 version told the story. It almost felt like a genuine film. I however loved the gameplay and the missions more on the psp version. Yes, the wii version is the best of that iteration of the game. The psp version had its graphics toned down even more and barely ran at 30fps. Stayed around the teens most of the time. However came to find out that it runs great on the Vita. Lol
@Mojo TheRising I’m pretty sure the Switch version added that. Unless I’m wrong? It also seems that the Switch port actually targets 60fps. It runs surprisingly better than I expected.
Man, I really love this scuffed video. I'm happier everything didn't work out because it was SO entertaining. I actually have a Wii still hooked up to my TV, but have never played this game. I might get this on Switch. Really cool that they ported this over.
Before this I didn't care about this game and a review wouldn't have changed that. But this? This felt personal, genuine as we got to see how enthusiastic you were to do something special, even if the end result was not what it could have been. I'm definitely going to buy it when I have the time to play it and I hope you're feeling better!
There was supposed to be one apparently, and they were going to make so you could play the story with a friend but after Lucas Arts shut down they had to cancel it due to the Disney acquisition... Just in case you weren't aware
Cutting to the cat clip after all that production value was the funniest damn thing. This may not have been the video you wanted but it was the video we needed.
Maybe we can see the full "movie" in the future? Even if not sponsored, it would be cool to have that special project in the channel. Either way, don't beat yourself up, Wood, things were outside of your control! I'm just glad you're okay after the Covid thing, please be safe.
This review convinced me to give the game another try. I initially was so taken aback by how different it was from the ps3 version, that I un downloaded it. But then you point out how fun the motion control is, which I was skipping originally. It’s a MUCH better game played in that manner.
As someone who played this on ps2 as a kid and played the sequel on xbox 360 i love the force unleashed games and they hold a special place in my heart and i’m impressed that this version runs at a solid 60 fps
Honestly wood, it wasn’t even bad 🤷♂️ I still chuckled. It’s the effort that counts. The lightsaber effect was dope. I played the wii version as a kid, I have so many memories of playing the co op with my little brother.
This is why you are one of my favourite youtubers. Dedication joy and love for everything you do plus your relationships with your friends and wife shines through the screen. Thank you for trying with that video
Being sick while making that video made the training look that much more difficult and in a way added to the experience of being a powerful Jedi! I'd say you nailed it, and Yoda cat was just cute so that worked out perfectly too haha. Good Job Kim for getting the little costume on :) haha.
8:40 Dude, you've gotta wear some kinda of glove for stuff like that. I mean, even in the movies everyone brandishing a lightsaber wore gloves as far as I can remember. Obviously you'd have to use gloves with lots of low-friction areas in order to prevent the handle of the lightsaber being caught and obstructing its movement when trying to perform these kinds of tricks, but otherwise your hands end up in bad shape and you probably end up not totally satisfied with how it all turned out.
Wood, you should totally finish that video you planned, but when you're better and can actually shoot it properly. Like I know you've already done the sponsor and everything, but you did buy the props and the costumes. If nothing else, it would be so great to see it all done and complete, a canon Star Wars/BeatEmUps video!
Believe it or not. I've played this game before and finished it several times on the psp version just to know and understand the ending. But what makes me feel comfortable playing this game over and over again is the Hack n Slash gameplay. Reminds me a bit of DMC and Kingdom Hearts and it's very dynamic QTE. The effects of sparks that come out every time the Lightsaber clashes adds to the epic feel of the battle. Glad you review this game. It is a very fun games...
Huge respect and hope you rest up well. You put yourself through lot. Speaking of the game I've not had a strong start to the game. I don't know the wii motion inputs for the qte, unless I'm not paying attention it doesn't tell you or not immediately obvious as it should be. The motion controls are very finicky for sure I try doing the directions as it says but doesn't always work well.
Love the video man. The downgraded port is my biggest fear for the Hogwarts Legacy game. Not sure if it will be the same as it will be on the other consoles

(If anyone didn't know. Yes. Krome Studio's are the ones who made the Wii and PS2 version of this game. They worked with Aspyr to re-release it.)
Yo! What you ended up creating turned out so good! You could have kept that as the intro and no one would be the wiser. You did such a good job!!! Also epic video as always.
I respect the effort you put towards the possible mini-movie you had in mind, BeatEMUps! On another note, I love knowing that Force Unleased was the Wii version of it with the sick motion controls!
OK. I known you from back in the day when you started as a UA-camr from Australia. You may not remember but I was the guy jokingly “trolling” you with Aron (yes. Retro Liberty Aron) on Facebook about “The Sega Master Drive” 😂 . Anyway… I just have to congratulate you on this video. Is probably the best “clickbait” title of all time and yet the video was honest and awesome. Talking about making the best out of a bad situation. This knocks that concept out of the park. So CONGRATS. You are a GREAT UA-camr/Content Creator and Aron must be jealous 😂. Just joking… again. He’s great too… Cheers!!!
I've been saying forever that they need to port this game to Switch! Now, I've never played the Wii version, I played the 360 version back in the day, but it's gonna be great to play through this superb storyline again. Truthfully, I would have jumped on this game the second I saw it for sale on the eshop, but now I can say that I bought it because of BeatEmUps, because somehow this release slipped under my radar and this review is amazeballs. I'm truly sorry that we couldn't see the mini-movie that you had envisioned, but I'll end with this, I'm glad you're doing better man.
That one scene you were able to get done looked so cool dude! I wish you weren’t sick! I would have loved to see what your creative brain could have accomplished! But the video was still awesome
Great review. I will just say though, it was the PSP version of The Force Unleashed that had the most content of all the other versions. Look it up, you will be SHOCKED how much extra exclusive content the PSP version had.
NO NOT THE WII VERSION. NO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NO. NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (darth vaders voice) While I understand that the game has good motion control. Bro you cannot sacrifice the original version. CUTTING STORMTROOPERS IN HALF. I will not be buying the game just because of the fact that it’s the wii version like no I’m good.
My man’s it’s okay. U can make it Jedi wood vs darth Covid. My man and basically how you beat the most evil sith lord to ever exist. That’s the new story plot that happened and honestly this is epic because you are felling better and have recovered
Ah man, I hope you revisit that script, bro. The "intro" was super tight. I literally just bought the bundle last week before seeing this. Definitely excited to revisit it! It's been YEARS
Love u wood. In my opinion you're one of the youtubers who is talented on making a skit may it be sponsored or just a normal video. Love from the Philippines❤️
My life you look soo poorly while filming the skit! You absolute legend powering on through! I laughed so hard, the final cut was perfect!! Thank you for bringing me a smile each time i watch one of your videos, even when yous ill!! Xx
The best version of the forced unleashed is the PSP version. There was Sooo much more content in that game. No motion controls, but you could play historical battles like play as Obi won fighting Anakin on mustafar, you can fight as Luke on jabbas sail barge. It was pretty sick
The video quality with the new camera is fantastic! I know you were talking about this on stream and it's cool to see it rolled out. I hope you get better and are taking the time to actually rest!
Wood saying: "As I use force powers to pick things up and throw them" Arnold Schwarzeneggers voice whispering in the distance...: "I pIcK tHiNgS uP i PuT zEm DoWn"
amazing concept and I loved the editing you had already done. Seeing the channel name in the Star Wars title font was amazing. Definitely looking forward to a web redemption
Aww man, it's a shame you didn't get to do everything you wanted to do for this, I'm sure it would have been epic. Hope you're feeling better now! That said though, the video and review were still a lot of fun, and honestly the lightsaber tricks were really cool!! And I love seeing the behind the scenes stuff. Still very impressive for the little glimpses we got to see of your vision for the Beat Em Ups Star Wars movie. Rest up, and thanks for the video!

I grew up playing Ty and Spyro. And it always makes me smile that this small studio is still going strong and re-releasing their older games for new platforms.
(If anyone didn't know.
Yes. Krome Studio's are the ones who made the Wii and PS2 version of this game. They worked with Aspyr to re-release it.)
Dude the opening skit is actually so good!!! The fact, that you are so beaten up makes it better!
Crimson Dawn and Vader’s vault is the best way to go for lightsabers.
Yo! What you ended up creating turned out so good! You could have kept that as the intro and no one would be the wiser. You did such a good job!!! Also epic video as always.
you need to try the star wars outer rim mod for blade & sorcery on PCVR. it’s like the immersive action i experienced as a kid but in VR.
I love how at 12:29 Simon Yoda costume hits the table and Simon looks up at the table like "excuse me, sir" lol
Star Wars AND BeatEmUps?? YES. PLEASE. 👏🏻
Bro great job learning that obi ani spin in 3 hours!!! If you ever need another lightsaber skit feel free to hit me up 🙌
I respect the effort you put towards the possible mini-movie you had in mind, BeatEMUps!
He’s great too…
Cheers!!!
They allowed him to do whatever he wanted and he failed. That's so sick.
"Lets go back to 2008" Katy Perry shows up 🤣
Aww happy you're feeling better now! Don't worry about this, things happen and you still pulled through ♥️
I came here for a review and then came out watching a mini movie and scared for one of my favorite UA-camrs life
I've been saying forever that they need to port this game to Switch!
Missed the perfect opportunity to have Bob be the Sith lord. Darth Wulff would have been great.
That part of the script you looked so frustrated and out of breath and it looked really nice
I personally believe Warner bros should give wood funding for this review to release the force unleashed wood cut
NO.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (darth vaders voice)
While I understand that the game has good motion control.
It's been YEARS
i must say you really look cool dressing the rope @8:12. I hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself and as always it was a great video
As a Star Wars fan, I demand a full movie utilizing all star Wars games on the switch:
Podracing
Republic Commando
Force Unleashed
Lego Star Wars
The quality of your videos are always amazing. Great job
Tbh, I'm glad an attempt was made, even if it wasn't great. Your skits are some of my favorite, you're very creative and funny.
The video quality with the new camera is fantastic! I know you were talking about this on stream and it's cool to see it rolled out. I hope you get better and are taking the time to actually rest!
Get well soon!
The "Movie" wasn't that bad.
Damn now I kinda wish you finished the complete mini movie... if you get the chance to finish it all I'd love to watch it!
You would’ve been PERFECT for the roll of darth Vader with that voice tho.
Wood saying:
"As I use force powers to pick things up and throw them"
Arnold Schwarzeneggers voice whispering in the distance...:
"I pIcK tHiNgS uP i PuT zEm DoWn"
Bro your skit was hilarious and so cool. I almost strangled myself from laughter when seeing the shot of your cat yoda 🤣
hahah that was awesome mate! cat yoda backing up lmao so good!
Love you wood, glad you’re feeling better
Lol that intro...wait there are Yoda cat outfits? YES...
Phew, I had Covid in December, it's no joke.. ot does sap the strength out of you for a few weeks afterwards. Glad to see you're feeling better!
Would you be willing to make another star wars video? I really enjoyed this one and would love to see another skit from you.
Wood : I can do it faster but I don’t want to
Me : speeds up the video
amazing concept and I loved the editing you had already done. Seeing the channel name in the Star Wars title font was amazing. Definitely looking forward to a web redemption
I honestly want to see that skit completed you put in so much effort just for it to all fall apart but still was a good video
Simon just backing up mid skit is 🤌 perfect 😂😂😂
Seeing you play with your Kitty in a Yoda costume was worth it 😂.
4:14 this looks like what you get if the 360 Version and the psp Version had a child together
