though I had some problem with sea water It also ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

The last jar seems to be a witches bottle or spell jar, commonly made throughout history. Especially with you saying it was sealed with wax and the top & has a hand written sigil with words of intent written on sides. It’s most likely a love spell jar. The peach pit could have been eaten from the person they were focusing on. Along with the other oddities…Kinda neat honestly 💕

If I see one more treasure hunting video where the person rubs the dirt off a coin by GRINDING it between his grit encrusted, gloved fingers I am literally going to cry. Please, for the sake of numismatists everywhere, carry a dollar store spray bottle with water and rinse these off carefully. I know most are very worn anyway, but you never know when one of your finds will be some uncirculated, rare piece and you will literally scuff thousands of dollars off its value with your grimy gloves. No disrespect intended, just a bit of advice from someone who learned the hard way.

I burried a whole lot of tightly fixed jars like this about 25 years ago in the property I grew up in, plus some other 'time capsule' type containers.. I haven't lived there in nearly 20 years.. I sometimes think about going back and getting permission to search (I know the rough area I buried a couple things, though others nfi) - but I prefer the idea of someone else stumbling across it..
Nothing super valuable (some trading cards, old coins, etc - but nothing super rare or anything) - but would certainly be a cool find for someone..
I did this when I was about 8 or 9, I really loved the idea of buried treasure, plus we had a time capsule at my school that always fascinated me!

I did the same thing as a child of around the same age , between 6 and 8 or 9 years old.would put some small toys , a few coins and a note in a plastic peanut butter jar or a glass Mason jar and dig a hole and in it would go ,that was about 60 years ago . I have often wondered if anyone ever found any of my "time capsule treasures ".

  • @theoriginalkeepercreek

The cups look like egg poaching cups - part of a set, usually 6 plus the shallow pan that holds water and the insert that has holes that are just slightly smaller than the cups. If it were complete, there would be a lid as well. Super great video. I have to admit, with every jar you found, the anticipation increased. Thanks.

As many others have said, it's not uncommon for kids to bury things just for the fun of it, imagining they're burying a treasure etc. I have done this too. But it was a wooden box filled with some small coins, some fake jewelry, a note, and other small things I could fit in there. =)

  • @jmora6477

Weird spellings? That's witchcraft. Each jar was used for a certain "spell" sort of speak and then they were buried according to custom. The coins are to get money or to take money from someone or even for good luck gambling. The jar with the heart is a love spell. That person was very superstitious. If you start hearing noises in your house now you'll know why. :)

    • @QuarterHoarder
      @QuarterHoarder  7 років тому +23

From the research I've done, what you're saying is exactly what I've been reading. My wife won't let me bring the jar into the house so it's been in my garage since I found it. I'm not superstitious myself but I will admit it's a little creepy.

Just found you. About the piece with the women presenting their hair, I watched a short documentary about a small village where the women all still follow ancient tradition & never cut their hair. Part of the grooming process is to go to the river & help each other wash, comb & twist their hair. That piece you found might be related to that. If so it's very rare & special

      Quarter Hoarder
Sure thing . I actually spent 2 hours more last night on EBay and forums to get the most info I could before putting down close to grand on a detector and sand scoop .
I'm going with the Whites MX Sport . A guy has a bundle deal for around 770 . I need one that can get wet and be submerged . I was on a popular river this summer that has tons of people rafting and drinking . I saw a Fit Bit and snatched it as we went by . After that the bells went off in my mind . One can only imagine all the stuff that is in that river including naturally occurring gold nuggets . I need some time learning this equipment before tackling that river , the shallow parts wouldn't be to difficult but the deeper swimming holes could be dangerous . Bringing a friend on that adventure would be wise .
I buy storage lockers and have been doing that for almost 10 years . I love the hunt for treasure but these 10 to 15 hour days are kicking my ass .
Next spring I can fish for stripers or surfperch and use the detector at the same time . Any suggestions on how to videos for the newbie metal detector . Anyway thanks for the reply and hope you score something insanly awesome like a bucket full of Double Eagles .

I need to swap to beaches. I detect in Hertfordshire England and find nothing. You gotta be lucky to find the £2 million hoard like the chap who found the Saxon, Staffordshire hoard. Instant millionaire. Some find £200,000 hoards but split with the land owner and museums it's a tidy sum to ease the stress of bills, mortgage etc. I watch Ed the beach hunter and he has a great time cause he finds modern day jewelry and purses with 1000 usable dollar's in them. Every trip he finds gold and I find WW2 bullet casing with lots of cow suit on my boots.

I grew up on a farm. As kids we did this all the time... buried stuff. If we detected that farm we'd find those same things only not quite as old. You should go back to where you found the thing you thought was a kitchen utensil, from that hole you pulled out a hunk of glass from a jar, which may mean someone buried something in that jar. To me, that "bank" looked like the case for the clock or jar lids. Also, here is a tip for you guys: In the Midwest behind every farmhouse, usually to the end of the pasture there is a farmstead dumpsite.

Once you found these caches of items you should have kept them unopened and did some research...ugg. They were probably worth MORE left complete then you would possibly get in an individual coin. Thanks for bringing back a memory. I remember burying a canning jar back in the 60's as a kid, There was something in the news back then about time capsules . I don't remember what I put in it, a few coins, clippings, small toys, marbles and such i imagine, but as far as I know it's still buried at the old house I grew up in. It was common I suppose. And someone like you is likely to dig it up eventually in the future. Course, that 1910 farm house is still standing and is well kept up by the new owners. Have you ever found a baked clay marble? I found a couple, there back then, I suppose they had made their own.

Especially, with different coins, jewelry, hair, human nails, paper with the spell on it, or news printer with a persons name or event in them & then filled with urine, usually combined with menstruation blood & spit!!! A lot of witchcraft spells of today & especially, going back a few hundred years also, are all put into some form of glass jars or salt & pepper shakers!!! Upright to gain & upside down to take away or remove... These type of spells which can be useful, the bottom line is, their extremely evil!!! It’s black magic... Truthfully these guys are uncovering spell jars, that a witch or witches have buried all in one spot!!! There are too many not to be... Yeah, looking at them on camera, that’s exactly what they are, Jesus!!! I don’t know what happens when you open them but, I just wouldn’t touch them no matter what & how old they are, just let them be!!! Just saying... NOT GOOD NOR COOL!!!
