Hello from Wales UK Thank you for posting this video. Your enthusiasm is infectious. The three pence that you found was never refered to as a three pence. The words were corrupted over time and in the UK it was called a "Thrup pence" Just British slang for the coin. An was often called a "Thrup nee bit" ( Try and say thrup nee as one word) Again, English slang to describe the coin. Thank you again for posting. Seasons greetings to you and yours Regards from Wales
Very interesting history on the silver coin, I didn't know that. Thanks for watching! I have a video from Wales from few years back I never posted, Maybe soon I will.
Congratulations on the gold coin. English silver coins changed to half silver in 1919 to pay back WW1 debt. Then went to zero silver in 1948 to pay back WW2 debt. We were sending our silver to the US! Best wishes.

Congratulations Nugget, you absolutely deserve that gold coin find. I hope the rest of your searching was just as satisfying. You certainly had an interesting field there to look at, and you made the most of it. Congratulations again.
Lucky enough to have found celtic gold coins, hammered gold, and milled gold. You never stop being amazed by how they come out of the ground just like they went in. And just how 'gold' pure gold actually is.
I found a Half Sovereign like that, 1860's I think mine was. Only gold coin I ever found in the 30+ years detecting. Got a very quick flash of gold in the deep hole, then took me ages to locate it as soil kept falling back in. This was the 90's, pin pointers make things a lot easier today. Congrats nugget, hope you find more.

That first find is so special. You must feel over the moon, but where's your "Gold Dance" à la mode, "Lance finds Gold" in 'The Detectorists'? You need to find a Bronze Age axe head, an Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch or a Roman coin. That would really put a very big smile on your face and then you'd have to do the "Gold Dance".
Amazing finds, man! Crazy to think I've been watching you for more than 10 years now. Way back to when you'd detect in the woods. You got me into detecting when I was a kid. Still have that detector and would love to start detecting again but it's tough where I am as I live in a more urban area. Love the videos, Michael. Keep it up!
Hey Nugget Big time Congrats on the amazing Silver Coins and your first Gold Coin. We have something in common. Just 2 weeks ago I dug 2 Morgan Dollars in one hole. Once in a lifetime. One week later my first Gold Coin. 1882 5 Dollar Gold Coin. It took me 16 years to find one. I love how excited you and your friend is. Its definitely a feeling and memory of a life time.
