I believe that pin at the eight min. mark is a first-year award for the National Honor Society given to high school students. I remember them from the late 60s.
Love hearing you guys oooing and aweing over a spoon. Just today I ordered a metal detector and supplies to begin my own journey. Can't wait for them to arrive!!
I so absolutly love this field! So much history being unearthed. Love it! Just love it. Keep digging it guys and show history as it was. Take care now.
@@lukagarwood Because even back then, people were pigs and threw all garbage, including tokens they didn’t want, out along the roadside or in their fields.
@@lukagarwood I like Alan answer, so true. But about those silver spoons, believe some one had a husband like mine, pick up a bowl and never get the spoon out, and pitch it!!🤨I’ve lost most of an expensive set of tableware like that !
Congratulations guys! I’m curious, have you gotten a chance to have the “Continental Currency” coin authenticated by PCGS yet? I’ve researched this coin in the “Mega-Red” book, depending on the variety of die used (ie. The “CURENCY” varietal) some of these show as being “Only Two Known,” or similar verbiage . An authenticated MS-63, BRASS specimen was sold at auction in July of 2009 for $299,000. Have you determined base metal? Just curious…?
What’s up guys !! Thanks for the videos. You really help me out with my situation! Still got those wonderful coins you sent me !! Now my 12 yo daughter is into my collection. She loves it and I love talking coins like my grandfather did with me.
The silver spoon is absolutely incredible!! Hope you are able to read and check out the hallmarks on the handle. The sterling standard (and stamp) was established in 1868, before that silver was hallmarked so the spoon is very likely pre civil war.
Your sterling silver spoon looks very Scandinavian in design...you might want to follow it down that line of research. OH! Sure enjoy you guys and all the fun you have. Thanks for sharing!!
Its the field of a lifetime. You guys are so lucky. Nice silver dime Jason. Beautiful spoon bowl & P button Doug. Awesome military pin Joe. Jason that is a marvelous looking coin/token & spoon. Pretty lid Paul.
As usual, amazing hunt. That's why I love hunting fields where houses used to be, never know what you will find. Looking forward to future videos. Love them all
Either put your bent stuff in boiling water, or heat under low flame, such as an alcohol lamp before trying to straighten out your bent items. For bent coins I use an old leather belt, put them between two pieces of leather and slowly squeeze in a vise. Maybe have to warm them first.
I thought Madonna would be proud, right before you said, "Madonna's great Aunt." I nearly spit out my tea! You guys are great! I'd love to dig with you, if I ever get to learn & do this hobby. Until then, I'll keep watching. Later!
Excellent video and hunt ! Congratulation Jason and Doug for finding those sterling silver spoons, the 50, 000 dollars coin, maybe and all ya`ll finds ! Good luck and best wishes on ya`ll next hunt !
Another amazing day at the field of 1000 holes guys. Some sweet relics on the day. That last minute spoon is beautiful Jason!! Happy hunting and be well

Great video from the field of dreams as always! I sure like watching your guys interactions while you try to figure out what the find is, the comedy in between and history knowledge is what makes your channel so great to watch. Thanks again guys.
I have a replica Fugio coin just like that and it was a bank promo from the 1980's. The slight wear and the deterioration of the low grade metal gave it away. Jason suspected it was a copy as soon as he saw it. Makes you wonder how it got there though.
I saw you on Treasure Talk and came on over. Nice finds, my favourite was that little bottle surface find and the last bent spoon. Use a little heat before bending them back to soften the work hardening and avoid cracks. 😉 As mentioned on the show, great video editing.

Birmingham UK, a few years ago I was digging up factory tokens from the 1700s. Factory owners minted their own coins to pay the workers, the tokens could be used in local shops and the factory owners would redeem the tokens at the end of the week.
I would dearly love to see how you display your finds. You & your friends have some great times together & I really enjoy the banter you have over your finds. Please keep these great videos going. If you can can you send me a few photos of how you display your finds. All the Best from Pete (down under) North Queensland Australia.
Many years ago, I was giving a friend rides to college. One day, I'm waiting for him to get his books and his child placed a pewter 1776 Continental Currency in my hand. I figured it had to be a copy, especially since I didn't know at the time they made real ones of pewter, brass and silver, I believe. Anyway, all these years later and all the so-called experts have said it's a copy, but none of their reasons are the same. They all give a different answer....right weight, wrong metal, wrong weight, wrong whatever. What I felt added credibility to the coin was that he showed me other coins from the 1780's and 90's....about 9 of them, all different types and showed me the remains of rotted leather that he claimed was in the hole he dug. He told me to keep the Continental Coin for giving rides all year. I consider the coin a curse because it's driven me crazy trying to get a consensus on it for more than 30 years . Good luck!
Fantastic saves!! That must be a commemorative reprint because the original Fugio is copper. That looks aluminum but still incredible! I have 1 fugio I found last year, what a great piece of history! Love the police button! Great silver spoon Doug!
The coin you are referring to is the 1887 cent. This coin is the Contintal "Dollar" type 2 ( CURENTCY ). Type 1 has 2 RR's. Originally came in Pewter, (most common) Brass and Silver. I think yours maybe pewter or a copy. The coins weight, if real, is around 15-19 grams.
With the area of the exposed inside I’m almost positive mine is pewter, although it appears to be plated overtop so I’m doubtful it’s period. Most likely a more modern reproduction of some sort but I’m gonna have it checked out just to be sure.
@@QuarterHoarder I rewatched it a few times and did a bit more research on it. It seems more and more legit the more it plays out. I agree, definitely pewter but looks authentic. I would love to know the outcome when/if you get it professionally inspected.
