    Thanks for seeding the preparation. My origin is Thiruvaiyaru. My father, Sri Pakshi (Subramania) Iyer is credited to have introduced this quality sweet, Ashoka, in Thiruvaiyaru sometime in the first half of last. century. Pakshi Iyer Ashoka and Kaara Sev and Rama Iyer's Halwa were much talked about savouries. Hotel name Kaliya Perumal Vilas .

    Hello Maami, I made it today for Mahaperiyava's vaikasi anusham. Came out extremely well. Thank you for the recipe. BTW, I remember the maida gum- my mother used to make it during the summer holidays to wrap my brother's and my new books with brown paper cover. How environmentally friendly we were?!!

    Mami should we cook the paasi parupu separately or is it enough to soak it in water after dry roasting it

      You have to cook it. Mash it well. Then mix with wheate and ghee
