Picked up my WASR V2 for 850 brand new (this year). Stock furniture sucked, for sure. Threw some magpul handguards and stock on it. Switched the muzzle device for the MI double chamber brake. Put a KNS piston in it. Runs like a champ. Have not had a single issue. If you can find one for 850, and spend the extra 300 upgrading it, its an absolute dream to fire and own. Would recommend 100%.
Getting a used one for $700 tomorrow. Blonde wood furniture and though used, it appears like new with a cleaning rod. No mag but they’re throwing in a sling and I’ve got a dozen mags anyways. Best deal I’ve came across in a while.
i paid $650 for my wasr10 back in 2019 around in the spring time off atlantic firearms, i love it, i put surplus romanian ak furniture on it, bought romy steel mags, tons of bakelite mags, replaced all 922r parts only 922r part i have on it is the retaining plate. yeah i don't blame ya wasr10s are a dissapointment for the price rn, and i'm not paying 1,000 dollars for an akm, i love my wasr10, atlantic firearms is where i bought mine off of they included surplus cleaning rod with it, unlike century arms does.

That’s a shame about the rust , I remember back in the day you could get mil-surp rifles at Roses that were caked with “ grease “ , you’d have to clean them inside and out before firing them , but no rust. They are cutting corners to make a buck , and due to the current situation , they can jack the prices and get away with it. Anyway , good job on the detail , can’t wait to see it with wood furniture , can’t go wrong with walnut , or mahogany

If century arms would take this Wasr-10 V2, put the standard, but nice Arsenal polymer stock and handguard with the heat shield, and sell these for 799 msrp, they would absolutely dominate the ak market right now. The new modern looking gas block would look beautiful with the plain Arsenal type stock set. I mean come on, this furniture on the V2 takes the cake for the absolute worst furniture in ak import history. It's almost an insult to the customer right now because you're giving the absolute bare minimum, but charging 900+, for god sakes, at least change the furniture for that price. This has been a deal breaker for A LOT of people.

It's really weird. I bought a WASR for my birthday a month into Covid-19 and have zero complaints (I paid $750). Sadly I haven't heard anything good about the V2s.

Yeah. The plastic stock on the WASR10 V.2 does suck. But it runs like a champ----I fired Russian, American, and Czech ammo with US polymer Pmags. Zero issues. Bought steel mags recently for it.
The stock furniture is terrible for 922r compliance and they know most people are gonna replace the furniture. Might as well give you furniture you feel no guilt in replacing and let you set your AK up the way you want it. My WASR v2 is dope, I put on some Polish wood plus a bakelite grip and boy howdy is that thing cool.
Bought the same rifle for 1,000$ trashed the hand guard and installed a Midwest industries quad rail and trashed the stock and installed a circle 10 triangle stock with paracord.
my new wasr dust cover keeps blowing off when i shoot it and my older wasr doesn't whats the deal with that i never had a wasr do that besides the old stinking io ak 47 i once owned should i send it back to century it looks like they didn't press the gas block on mine properly
You could try sending it back to Century. If you know any competent gunsmiths in your area, I would go ahead and pay them and do it right. I just don't have any faith in Century anymore. Research around and see if people have anything good to say about centuries repairs. If they do, from what I've seen personally it's usually a crap show when you get your firearm back.
I live in North Carolina.no brother the shop owner had it for two days he's a really honest person so I believe him. it and a Arsenal both come in at the same time
Spend a little more and get a Zastava ZPAP. With wood. Not gonna lie, Atlantic firearms tends to have them at pretty good prices. And I personally have never had problems with them. I bought a 10/63 way back in 2008 for $350. I sold it a couple years later. I regret that.
You did a good job with it after purchase. But the stock is cheap out of the box, you're right about that. Already have cleaning rods but with none included that's a bummer. No wobble on mine with polymer or steel---everything is snug and no rust at all.

And you never know, you might not even be able to legally buy an AR15 or AK pretty soon so I had to get it. Mine didn't come with the cleaning rod either and it's brand new. Really sucks. No wobble on my mags but holy moly is my safety selector and mag release stiff. I'm not really strong but nor am I that weak and I can hardly get the metal mags out without almost cutting my hands. I like the poly mags more anyways. I like how they sound, I'm weird like that.

I bought a washer 10 3 months ago had to send it back to gas block the scam to the left they sent me someone else gun I had to send that back. When I finally got my rifle back it was scratched to hell and back and the Finnish was horrible and recoiled like a mule . The only good thing I can say is it is reliable

Absolutely love my wasr 10 after I got my Magpul furniture absolutely no malfunctions I do recommend changing out the muzzle brake ultradyne muzzle brakes or madhouse has some really good ones just wish Century Arms with pull their head out of their butt and not charge so much
Congrats on the Romy Wasr......Furniture wise.... Neither. For a little less or the same $$ Some Surplus furniture from Apex or other will make that Wasr pop visualy. Its gona get scuffed eventually so surplus furn, even if you have to refinish it all the better you pick the color.

1,000 is pretty fuckin steep for what you get. Don’t get me wrong a Wasr is mechanically sound but they’re rough around the edges. I got a zpap for 800 and my only issue if that in the white bolt begs for rust and the dust cover rattles. But for 800 for a yugo tank I’m happy

But at least there’s still fantastic exports coming in like Zastava and WBP. The walnut furniture on my Zpap looks beautiful after a thin coat of tru-oil, I’m pretty happy it’s not like the plywood that comes on wasrs nowadays

@@thor1911. I now own 2 wasr 10/63. Sold probably 3 more in the last ten years. Only thing I would say is dont use the Korean mags. They look and feel great but they have serious follower problems. If you have not shot it yet , take it apart and spray the inside receiver with a lot of WD40. Then put it upside down (magwell face up) with some paper underneath. You will be surprised how much metal shavings will come out with the oil.

They will go on for ever. They can also be made to be bolt hold open on last round but that is a different topic. Is this your first Ak
For 1200 out the door, you could have purchased a Zastava m70. It's worth it. PAC sells cheapo imports, but I recommend m70 or m90 anyday. You won't be upset you spent more $$. I don't like magpul handgards, but don't mind the zhukov stock. Nice wood always looks good.

@@gregobrien7972 Absolutely. Much flatter shooting than the scoop brake. The KNS piston is the MVP when it comes to mitigating the recoil, though.

Got mine for 750$ out here in Hawaii. Add a fostech echo binary trigger and add a ATI strikeforce elite package with scorpion recoil system.
Only the hardware matters, the furniture you just change all of it. Romanian AKs are just rough copies of the Russian blueprint. Excellent rifles

@@ErinBunny24 switch out that muzzle brake and you will have one of the best AK-47 for the money in my opinion. Look into ultradyne muzzle brakes

Have you tried a gen3 pmag with a metal lip? Mine will chew up a gen 1and 2 polymer PMAG.
No didn’t try the gen 3 cause I got pissed off it didn’t fit threw it gave it to a buddy 😂😂😂 those steel Croatian mags don’t work either

Yeah these guns aren't worth that they're anywhere from 900 to 1,000 bucks. just a few years ago they was 600-500
For 1200 out the door, you could have purchased a Zastava m70. It's worth it. PAC sells cheapo imports, but I recommend m70 or m90 anyday. You won't be upset you spent more $$.
I don't like magpul handgards, but don't mind the zhukov stock.
