I would love to have a Les Baer 1911 to love and appreciate lol and I would name him George and pet him, thank you for watching me and Melissa appreciate it brother
Thank you brother that means a lot to us I've been shooting guns since I was a small boy my Fondest Memories Are of me and my grandfather out shooting his Winchester
Rock Island always surprises me with their quality for the money I've never had no issues with any Rock Island I've ever owned I'm getting ready to purchase a 10 mm I'm really excited for that. thank you for commenting we really appreciate it brother
In order to make it in the gun world at a very competitive price, you MUST make a reliable piece or go under in a blink of an eye! People ask if I would stake my life on a Rock Island? My answer is that if I'm familiar with the firearm that I have maintained, then yes. I would never stake life on ANY FIREARM WITHOUT KNOWING IT INSIDE AND OUT FIRST!!
That's true but they are firearms that are like a Llama 1911 just plain garbage doesn't matter how much maintenance you put that piece of crap through LOL unless you have a Les Baer Wilson Combat or God forbid a Cabot 1911 those 1911's are masterpieces but I think a rock islands is just as good as a Kimber or Colt and I'm sticking to my guns but I get what you're saying thanks for commenting really appreciate it
They use 38 super in places where military cartridges are prohibited. Read the comments and saw no one said it so thought I’d shed light. But those are the places that 38 super is popular apparently. I’ve heard some competitive shooters will use it but I’m not sure if that is true on a large scale or not.
i’m turning 21 in less than 6 months and i’ve wanted to own a nickel plated 1911 for years and i think the 1911 shown in this video is what i’m gonna end up picking up
@maacsdead Rock island,Ivor johnson Both have really nice nickel plated, 1911 They are just so versatile, not to mention the 2011 Go check out bull armory and welcome to the 2A family
Yeah you can't go wrong with Rock Island from the money I think they're one of the best mass produced 1911s now if you want to hold on to your money for a little bit longer I would recommend a Wilson Combat or les Baer 1911
Do you know if it’s stainless steel or regular steel under the nickel? I just picked it up in .38 and it’s already my favorite gun, but I can’t seem to find what steel it’s made of
Sorry bud I'm not sure about that I might see if I can get some info from armscore thank you for comment really appreciate it sorry I'm late answering you UA-cam don't always notify me they hate us gun channels LOL
@@marvinparker7872 he could be absolutely correct but I don't blindly answer a question or agree unless I research it I hope you see where I'm coming from on that I've done that in the past when I was younger and turn out to look like a fool
Good morning guys , nice review. Remember to save that brass ! Question , is the 380 super the same as a 9mm Luger ? Hey , come visit the 105 Flea Market , there’s a crazy blacksmith working there :)
Definitely pick you up some mags up at Wilson Combat com they're about $42 and you can probably shop around and find them a little bit cheaper. But Wilson Combat is the way to go far as magazines thank you so much for commenting brother
thank you very much for replying the original magazine that it came with doesn't go in properly u have to wiggled it around for it to fit wich I don't think is normal
@MR. A the average joe scratcher I wouldn't worry brother usually Rock Island 1911 a really reliable their tolerances are really tight just needs a good breaking in. they cut corners on there magazines and that's about it
yeah the biggest problem with nickel is if you dent the slide say .. the nickel will not 'stretch' and just bridge the dent creating a bubble. The other thing is some gun solvents will attack the copper under it unfortunately I don't recall which ones or what was em to do that. I make my own solvent A 1930' version of CLP but far better. Plus... it costs penjnies an ounce to make.. Look it up... it is called 'Ed's Red' The only thing I changed was to add a few ounces per quart of Amyl Acetate.... It is also a solvent but the main thing is that it kills the odor of the acetone It has a banna like scent and is used in perfumes they say.@@thor1911.
A lot of online websites offer engraving but you need to research and make sure there are they're legit me personally I'm never engrave nothing yet thank you so much for viewing we really appreciate you
It seems like every Rock Island Armory 1911 owner appreciates their gun very well. You have such a reliable gun there.

I like people who can admit they shoot mostly for fun, not competition. You guys remind me of my wife and I. Good video.
Thanks.
Thank you brother that means a lot to us I've been shooting guns since I was a small boy my Fondest Memories Are of me and my grandfather out shooting his Winchester
I have one chambered in .38 super and absolutely love it. I’ve probably shot around 1,200 rounds without any hiccups.

Nice looking 45 wow that's a pistol thanks for sharing have a great day thanks for your time.
Thank you brother 45acp has always had a special place in my heart
In the Philippines they refer this as hard chrome.

I really like that 1911, thinking about buying one
It's a really great 1911 for the money brother I've run hundreds rounds through mine
very interesting that the desert eagle is hard to function considering the heavy price tag they carry

The steel is 4140....the undercoating is copper primed with nickel on top.

John think of it as a 380 Magnum yes we will have to come by and see this crazy blacksmith that you speak of 😆 🤣
Where did you get the grips?
I got them on Amazon they're made by cool hands but I would recommend lok grips over them
hey bud have same gun what magazines will fit the 38 super ria?

nickel is really hard. I do a little home plating. It is really scratch resistent.
Yeah the nickel has held up really good on this gun considering all the punishment it's Ben's been through since the filming of this video

How did you get them nickel plated?
They came that way from Rock Island they made the 45 ACP and a 380 super nickel-plated Editions thank you for watching we really appreciate it
Looks like veterans graves just ahead?.idk lol
What are swirl marks?
they are very light scratches that you can get from cleaning you're gun if you're not very careful use a microfiber towel that's dust-free
