ABOUT BON APPÉTIT
Bon Appétit is a highly opinionated food brand that wants everyone to love cooking and eating as much as we do. We believe in seasonal produce, properly salted pasta water, and developing recipes that anyone can make at home.
Chris is definitely the dad of Bon Appetit. He's an expert on everything and everyone values his opinion and seeks his approval
and andy is the daddy of bon appetit?
Candace Cuthbert Carla the mom, Brad the uncle, Claire the aunt, Andy and Molly the son and daughter
Felt weird typing this out
Agree with all except I'd say Claire's the big sister who graduated and moved out 😞
Brad is the uncle that we look up to. "Dang dad, uncle Brad is sooo cool."
Chris refusing to use a food processor is probably the most relateable thing I've seen on BA.
Especially if you do not have a dishwasher...a food processor takes up 3/4 of the rack and adds in some sharp as hell dangerous business. No thanks.
Yeah because I have never heard of the ingredients used the waffles.
a food processor's primary function in the kitchen afaict is to make a dirty food processor
I refuse to throw mine out but am never willing to use it for anything 😂 i'll hand mix/whip/shred every time.
This channel has changed what I think a "pinch of salt" is.
"A few tablespoons of olive oil"
As a non american it took me a moment to realize they are using pinches of kosher salt, not the regular super strong table salt
Your comment wins. You literally made me “lol”
@@maxfischer5586 yeah i don't even know where i can get kosher salt
@@isabellaoliveira2028 think of your most smanshyfancy store, they probably have it. Then you look at the price tag and decided regular salt is just fine
It's like he simultaneously cares way too little and way too much about food lmao. I'm all for adding chris to the regular BA cast to round-out the roster
he already is. you catch him in basically every BA video.
Beef Testy I meant as a host :)) I think he's only filling in for Andy but might go back to being cameos in future vids
@@nicolle2126 ahhh I get ya. He has his own videos posted on BA, but I see what you mean. Just more regular Chris, which I'm also for!
Beef Testy Thank you for understanding Mr. Beef
I like Chris's videos compared to like Claire's because I'm not constantly thinking about having sex with Chris during and I'm able to focus on the cooking
Chris looks like he might be the hardest guy to please in the test kitchen. So I just assume every recipe from him is automatically among the best.
...or everyone just says it's so yummy because they're afraid of him 😂
Dominic Monceda I remember Claire saying once that Chris was the hardest to impress/please
He's BA's Simon Cowell.
Chris is definitely the hardest to impress, lmao, but he's also not super judgmental and will give total full disclosure if he's biased against something for personal reasons. I give the guy mad respect whenever he comes on screen.
in the recent It's Alive with Brad (mustard) he mentions how it's really hard to get a food compliment from Chris
"Somebody probably used this to chop garlic earlier today." Everyone looks at Brad...
Gotta get that allicin working...
That Allicin is what’s good for you...I believe
it's like a 2-part epoxy
you remember allicin, right vinny?
I believe
Am I gonna make this?
"No"
Am I gonna stop watching it?
"Hell no"
Chris spilling the beans on Andy is hilarious 😂😂
And yet why would anybody check in when they are on vacation?
"Andy's on a mystery vacation, no one's heard from him in a week" the parallels to The Office are blindingly clear
good video, chris is underutilized cause he's articulate which i enjoy in this kind of thing. i like to know the rationale behind adding each ingredient, what flavor it brings, why its this kind of flour or whatever and not the other, what happens to it throughout cooking, how its interacting with other stuff, etc. chris does this well
Yes, you summarized why I always liked Chris' quiet intense instruction. He brings a lot more to the 'why' of each process and makes the video more interesting versus entertaining for a Brad video. Now and again he has a relateable gripe that makes me feel better that I'm not as great of a cook as these BA folks. Also loved learning new things like "carapace" in his lobster video.
Claire does the same thing and I love it! But I also love Brad and to a certain degree Carla's more experimental approach to cooking. I feel like a mixture works best for me. :)
You should be watching America's Test Kitchen, not the hippy, immature play kitchen of Bon Apetite. These kids are so not professionals. I guarantee their parents bribed BA into hiring them. Can't stand young, know-it-alls pretend to be experts. Shame on BA for stooping this low and hiring inexperienced, unprofessional kids to run their channel. Sorry kids, I won't be watching any more of your kitchen play dates.
Chicago_G3 how much did they pay you? lol
CO_NYG56 just because they have fun doesn’t mean they aren’t knowledgeable lol. Your life must be so exciting
I watch Brad because he is funny,
I watch Chris because he is proffesional,
I watch Claire because she is Claire
Watched* Claire
This makes me sad and melancholic
whats up with claire?
Danny Felix What happened with Claire??
derpina haha according to a BA article, they said she was leaving for other adventures, though would be back for guest appearances.
Chris is a rare treat! I enjoy his vibe a lot. Hopefully we will see more content featuring him!
I've been watching BA for a very long time. Honestly I never thought my favorite personality would be Morocco. I love all the personalities, but man he climbed all the way to the top fast for me. I genuinely enjoy every aspects of his videos. Please make more
I just love how Bon Appétit became soap opera of some sort)
Yes please :)
Oh my god yeees!!
I'm on Team Brad!
I think of it more like a sitcom. Every episode is its own thing but the same characters rotate in and out. They even have recurring jokes.
“You don’t have to fake it” love the call out for honesty lol.
I love how chill and cynical this guy is
I love how he says "cool"
Chris is like my mom in the kitchen. A meticulous self-critic who wants you to admit that the food is both great and terrible at the same time.
Chris has that constant jugde-y look which is so intimidating. Resting Judge-y Face.
He is the Dad of BA.
Oh I remember!!
Chris - Dad
Andy - Daddy
Brad - Uncle
Like imagine having a job interview with him
Also the word is judgemental
😂 judge-y
I’ve found that the easiest way for me to quickly remove thyme and rosemary from the stems is to thread the base of the stem through a mesh strainer and pulling it through the bottom until it punches all the leaves off :)
wow, that is genius! an actual life hack that sounds good and useable! will definitely try this.
You deserve a raise.
BA candidate right here
You are a smart cookie!
if this actually works as well as I imagine it to work, I'm gonna PayPal you a beer. I've always HATED having to do this and never found a good tip for it online.
"Lauren can you smell chocolate?"
"Mmmmmm....."
"Yeah? You don't have to fake it."
"I can't really smell it."
Hhahahahahahahhahaa
This just reinforces my love of BA staff. I love how Chris knows what he’s about. He knows his recipe, he doesn’t forget his ingredients, and does it all so well while staying oh so clean!
Play Timecop1983 as the intro for Chris!!!!
Marabelle hahahaa yessssss
Please!
I've been listening to Timecop1983 almost daily because of Chris
Daniel To ditto
Yassssssss
I love that Chris gave measurements and reasons for using the ingredients. It's really interesting and helpful to know why we should use one thing over another.
i usually show up for brad and claire but im rlly digging chris's super chill vibes.
I usually skip breakfast, but there is no way I could say no to these waffles.
Opinion: it should be socially acceptable to eat breakfast food 24/7, especially these waffles.
I eat pancakes for dinner
U again sire
no way I could say no to you dayum boy
Americans are so weird... For us (norwegians), waffles are a dessert or just something you make when having guests over in the afternoon
you know adding gluten-free to the title would seem like marketing 101
They let the food speak for itself instead of their keyword marketing :)
if they added gluten free, i wouldnt have clicked.
@@XellosTheDragon it'll definitely help. Imagine if its vegan added to a recipe video. It's all the rage.
adding gluten-free would be attracting the minority. not exactly smart marketing.
atlasstudios What?
Made these for my whole dorm floor and they liked them! They were savory and you can definitely taste the chocolate! At first it was hard to get the feel of when they were done but once you get into it you’re flying! I did use less coconut oil and upped the chocolate. Didn’t have the ingredients to make the crunchy topping and that’s what this needed. One of the girls on my floor almost cried she was so happy! She has a gluten allergy and she loved these.
My life changed when I got a waffle iron with a ”color” setting and a built in timer. Perfect waffles every frikken time!
I have never seen a more expensive chocolate waffle before
I really like Chris, more Chris videos please! (also now I want a waffle maker, damn)
Yes! There needs to be a super like button
God, I love Chris so much!! He is so sweet and he knows what he is doing! I want more of him on BA
Dear Chris, my dream is to make Morning Cupcakes.
Cake - Rolled oats, banana, salt, honey, water, butter, vanilla extract, dried fruit.
Buttercream - Rice pudding as buttercream frosting (don't even know if that's possible but would be groundbreaking to actually make rice pudding behave as frosting)
Toppings - cinnamon dust and pieces of sorted nuts.
please change the ingredients, just wishing to use all breakfast-y ingredients styled as a cupcake.
Chris, Clare, Brad, Molly and everyone at BA are awesome! Now this is a dream job!
I have my parents wedding present waffle iron (1945?). Seasoned after 78yrs of use. All metal, built like tank, still makes 4 full-sized beautiful waffles every time. A very elegant appliance. Will have to give this recipe a try! Thanks
7:39 Who let Vinnie in the editing room?
lmfao yeaaa!!!
Matt is the editor!!
Chris method of explaining and executing all of these are very relaxed. He explains a lot, shows that he loves and knows what hes doing.
Should hv a chris section, longer (time) but im sure it cater to certain crowd that most certainly value his views.
He seems so put together and knowledgeable that I would trust him with my life.
Dying to try this and also so jazzed to see more Chris. Could definitely use more BA Chris Morocco videos in my life. Thanks, Chris!
I love him, he’s so grumpy! More videos of chris please!
I like his style. He's taking the job of explaining what he's doing and why very seriously, without being overbearing.
chris is really good at this, i would enjoy more videos by him
I could listen to Chris talk about food all day. It's so calming.
I felt that garlic shade was aimed at Brad "allicin" Leone
The best birthday present one can get! Chris just really seems like a great and competent guy - I always love to see him in videos :)
But did he temper the chocolate???
Danielle Ellison claire dislikes this comment
Those waffles are looking so delicious and I would love to be tasting them. I purchased a waffle maker, but gave it to my brother and sister-n-law as a gift, but do have the waffle mix to use when I buy one for myself.
"Its hip to be square...when it comes to waffles. *Maybe just in general* "
One of many reasons I love Chris❤
Chris "The Craftsman" Morocco.
Always learning something from him.
If Andy hadn’t come back in time they would have a new show called “is he alive with brad”
i made this for breakfast today. it's delicious and goes so well with coffee. i do not like anything coconut so i replaced it with butter. and my parents are diabetic so i subbed out the sugar for 1 small mashed banana and concentrated stevia powder (~ 1/8th tsp)
Chris: “So when it comes to waffles, round or square?”
Me, a Texan: “Texas”
I love love love that they don't include unnecessary music while they're talking its beautiful and raw
“It’s hip to be square”
*makes a triangle shape with fingers
Haven't been able to eat pancakes or waffles for three years because of gluten sensitivity related to hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is so awesome to have a chocolate waffle made of buckwheat. So hyped up right now about having waffles again. Thank you! 👏👐👏👐👏👐👏💗
Oh my gosh they look amazing 😍
Warrior Son?
More like Damn Son, you thirsty
Are you one of those people I see that comment everywhere?
@Warrior Son Get lost Uncle Pervey!
geek6985 I hope not, the world does not need another Justin Y
please more videos with chris
Love the food processor but I agree with Chris - it's a pain and stays out of the way unless I absolutely need it
Chris is like a cooking encyclopedia. Love him! 😍
+1 on the thyme leaves thing. it's fine if you have a tough, woody stalk, but otherwise it is a total pain.
Heart shaped Scandinavian waffles are the best! They’re thinner so a bit more crispy on the outside which contrasts nicely with the softer, chewier texture of inside. Norwegian ones are often spiced with a little cardamom and delicious topped with jam and brown cheese.
Hello Test Kitchen guys! ❤❤❤ Chris makes chocolate waffles is very super and nice 👍👍👍
love how chill he is
Chocolate waffles? Delicious. Now just put some Vanilla ice cream on it for the ultimate ice cream sandwiche!
Glad to see more of Chris
"but then you'd have to clean the food processor" literally me
OMG MORE CHRIS PLS
Sunday was waffle day in our house until I discovered I was gluten intolerant (the real kind)... I have since crossed them off my list, but these look great!... Of course, I need to try them... but you might have revived a tradition! thanks!!
Pierre Cote what do you mean “the real kind”
@@user-vo9xe4yw7i Celiac I assume.
Thank you so so much for this, i’m Celiac and we really do need some change in or menu, please do more video for gluten free 🙏
"How long does this take to cook?"
Chris: smell it.
I made these today. They were the best waffles i ever tried! Totally recommend it! ITS SO GOOD! Thank you Chris!
Love the idea of this, but as far as ingredients go... it could taste like magic, but some of these ingredients are not as easily attainable/pantry ready.
Jessica Brock Yes he user lot of mind thing. I cant find all thing in my kitchen
But once you've got the buckwheat, the other critical ones shouldn't be hard to find.
The whole buckwheat is the only thing that I'm not sure I could find at any ol supermarket. And for that, I'd just have to go to the health food store or supermarket with a bigger health aisle. :)
When I bought "fancy flour" like spelt or buckwheat, flax seeds etc. for the first time a few years ago, I didn't think I'd use it much. But since, I've found many recipes and use them a lot. I think it's great that they sometimes introduce us to rather unusual ingredients. :)
Magic is never easily attainable.
if the buckwheat groats are the part that’s difficult to find you could probably replace them 1:1 with chopped almonds, walnuts or pecans and get a perfectly serviceable result
Love the style of this video. More please!
He's like the uncle who secretly hates kids and is disgusted by anything age 10 and under
He has 2 kids
Rotten Apple whaatt no way...I refuse to believe this guy is straight. My gaydar goes off insanely when watching him
@@brokensymmetry1874 same lmfao
BrokenSymmetry Gay people can have kids too, lmao. That aside, I don’t think there’s anything that makes him seem gay
Chicken Fingers yeah I know, it’s just that he has a wife too lmao. I’m gay, idk if you are, but usually gay guys are really damn good at telling if someone else is. It’s his voice, mannerisms, his excessive use of the word “like” even as a middle-aged man, and the fact that he used to work in the fashion industry haha
I love everything about this recipe! Very unique and the flavor combinations sound amazing!
but did he temper the chocolate tho?
Love Chris Morocco so much!! More Chris Morocco please !!
Ruby Khan I would greatly appreciate it if you help me out by subscribing
YES VINNY! More chris videos pleaseeee
I always watch these videos even if I never cook or bake myself because I'm celiac and never bother to look up glutenfree alternatives. I somehow got so happy when he just mentioned the buckwheat!
MORE CHRIS!!!!!!!
Square waffles are where it’s at. My grandma made waffles every weekend for all the grandkids. It was the first “appliance” my grandparents purchased when they got married ~ 70 years ago. This iron is still in my family it needs a new cord but I’m gonna try and get it fixed.
Alex looks like a clean Post malone
My favorite shape of waffle is Texas. I don't know if any other state does it, but a lot of the hotels here have Texas shaped waffle makers and that's easily my favorite.
Give Gaby a show. 'Gift of the Gab.'
Whoever edits these videos - I love it.
Please.. Everyone knows the best shape when it comes to waffles is Texas-shaped.
We need some more of Chris!
i like Gaby's new title
4plus4equalsmoo same! Gabby is a sweetheart and moving on up!
Waffles are literally my favorite . When can we expect and app with all these recipients? They are terrific!
4:29
Chris: I think you should temper the chocolate
Claire: *nO*
love that tehy decided to use a boom so we can now hear all the kitchen chatter!
his mystery holiday was a grindr hookup
Those happen on 5 minute breaks, no one would waste a holiday on a Grindr hookup.
He's gay?
@Virevine Is he? I thought Grindr was the app for people into grannies. I must have mixed them up.
This guy is great, more of this guy.
Leslie Knope Waffle Squad 💪
I think she'd just stare at these and wonder where her waffles are
09yulstube True! These are the Eagletonian waffles.
I love how comfy and calm and sweet Molly always looks, I love the way she dresses, and Chris is so amazing and explaining why ingredients work the way they do
“and in the morning, I’m making waffles!”

I love the way BA chefs talk.
Chocolate + cheese grater = easy bits.
more videos with Chris pls!! 😍
I dont have like 90% of these ingredients lmfao
I love Chris ❤️ more of him please
7:24 Is that post malone from the future when he has his new upgraded body?
