This review to me carried a lot more weight than any of the ones the motor journalists do, because it comes from a real person, with real knowledge from a mechanical perspective, and clearly a down to earth honest person. The gold standard if you ask me.
What a brilliant review on your new car like you said who's bothered about entertainment systems when you've got a alfa guila. As for your wheels buy some garage therapy wheel shampoo which is brilliant stuff to look after those wheels.
Italia, would you buy a 2nd hand QV with 45k km on it if it was serviced by Alfa? Am between new or 1y old Veloce or 2nd hand QV. Veloce economy is almost as bad as QV's. QV will be more expensive to maintain down the line but the gas mileage between the two will be very close. Greetings from Germany.
Not bad. The engine on mine blew up at 30,000 miles and less than 2 years ownership. One of the best cars I had ever driven as a daily driver up to that point. 😉
Interesting, would you like to elaborate a bit on that? Did you find out what caused it - are there some precautions a person can take or something to look out for?

Congrats! What a beauty, enjoy driving it for many, many effortless miles :) Finally snatched a second-hand Giulietta myself 2 weeks ago (the 1.4TB 170hp version), after looking for a decent one for well over a year. So, can relate to the sensation of getting a new Alfa, albeit one which might not be as epic as this Giulia :D
Lovely car Neil, and well deserved after the shifts you seem to put in back at your workshop. There's something of the junior supercar about the Giulia Quadrifoglio which you will probably come to feel when you drive it around. People stop and look at it when it's parked and pedestrians stare at it as you pass them by. It also happens to be brilliant to drive!
You seem like a chap that works hard and it's nice that you share your knowledge, it has certainly helped me working on my GTV so I say enjoy the Giulia you have treated yourself too. Don't enjoy it so much on public roads you lose your license though!
Beautiful Giulia. I have the same year and spec - minus the red trim. I’ve added cf mirror caps and front grill. The front grill can be picked up very cheap as the installation can be expensive, the front bar needs removing. I’ve also order a Larini centre pipe and swapped the P Corsas for GY F1 Supersports which are awesome. Don’t need winter tyres in Sydney. Looking forward to see your new content!
Hi.... I see you have ordered a new centre pipe..... Did the same mod on mine and afterwards I gained a very strange, really annoying vibration between about 2,200 and 2,800rpm.... Took it back to the Garage that fitted it and they had to modify the brackets a little bit because the pipe was rubbing against the floor every now and again. Hope you don't get the same issue. But if you do you will know what to look for. P.s.... You can get an ecu mod to have more power ( if you really need it????....) and exhaust valves open to loud mode if and when you feel like it.
@@ItaliaAutos Thanks! I have added a full carbon fiber trim pack to the interior and exterior of my 2019 Veloce, so it looks very much like a QV, just doesn't have that fantastic V6 engine however.

@@kalpeshsanatani If the QV works for your budget, I recommend it. I like the 2.0 veloce because of the gas mileage it gets, along with 280 bhp it is fast enough for me. ha ha Good luck in your search for one. I know you will be happy with the Giulia car.
Congrats! Looks amazing, great spec on it. Definitely my dream modern car! The Giulia QV is for me the coolest and most interesting car we'll see from Alfa, at least for a few years judging by FCA-PSA plans. Also, with the hybridisation and electrification coming this might well be the very last "pure" Alfa. I reckon it'll surely be a future classic.

Having owned a Giulia Veloce, the Giulia is quite simply the best handling car I've ever driven. Sadly let down by poor local dealer service and numerous faults which led me to handing back the car. Watch out for corrosion, all my alloys and centre caps went and on the day I handed her back, I noticed it bubbling on the inside of the boot lip. I adore the car and miss driving her.
Thanks for the update! One word though: the engine in the Q isn't a Busso engine. Bussos are the 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.2 V6 engines Alfa used from 1979 to 2005-ish. It was the same engine with varying bore and stroke. The Q engine is a very different beast ...

Fabulous video Neil and a lovely car. I bought my 2017 QV just before lock down and totally agree with your comments. Weirdly, I traded my Audi S5 in for the Alfa for just the reasons who had for not going with the German. Great video, some observations from me. 100% agree with you about the interior, I think it's amazing & I even prefer the old style carbon finish which is not in the MY20 model. Looks like that QF has had a life of car washes and both the calipers and the rear diffuser have had some harsh chemicals on them, my QF similar age doesn't have faded calipers probably because I hand wash it. Curious about your brakes as mine as not that grabby, still running OEM as well. For video ideas, which has not been done before. You could do one about the water ingress issue, and maybe how to remove the pitting from the exhaust tips haha (same as mine now). Oh, and definitely get the exhaust valve mod, that's the only mod you need for the beast!
Here's mine cold start valves open with the AHM mod - ua-cam.com/video/RUEB6NEjhE8/v-deo.html Just you wait until the winter with the valves open...EPIC!

Very nice car Neil. You are right, the plastic quality is second to none are but the majority of the motorjournalists complains about the Giulia's quality because they are german oriented. If you like the pure drive ( the very expensive double wishbone suspension and the carbon fiber transmission shaft are only two examples) so the Giulia is the best choice on the today market. If you like infotainment gadgets (with McPerson suspension)....yes...the germans are better. Super nice car! What a step up from the 156GTA which used to be the fastest modern Alfa youcould buy. Where did you get that Michael Franzese soundtrack?
Good video, nice to see how well built these cars are. Can I ask was the red one you looked at in Nuneaton the one with the Sparco Seats. (I looked at that in early August, it was in pretty poor condition with all the chips on the front. I walked away. Absolutely gorgeous car love the interior great colour choice are you going to paint the calipers a different colour or are you sticking to stock. You deserve it for all the hard work you do so enjoy jammy git😁
Cheerem sticking to black.
I'm thinking about buying one, do you know how it stands with reliability? Can you share some cost of service? I'm wondering what it the difference comparing to m3 or rs5
I don't like white cars in general but some just show up well in it. And that interior with the red looks great. You scored my friend!
Did I miss you saying how many miles it has?
thanks 50k miles
I heard the engine blows up as soon as the warranty is over? is that true? after the 4 year warranty
I’ve only heard of one case in America. I’d assume that was because it was nailed all of its life.
Super nice car! What a step up from the 156GTA which used to be the fastest modern Alfa youcould buy.
Where did you get that Michael Franzese soundtrack?
youtube royalty free music. its an awesome car.
@@ItaliaAutos Thnx and enjoy it! Like that soundtrack as well
Lovely Neil, nice colour too.
thanks james
Good video, nice to see how well built these cars are. Can I ask was the red one you looked at in Nuneaton the one with the Sparco Seats. (I looked at that in early August, it was in pretty poor condition with all the chips on the front. I walked away. Prettty dissapointed after driving 200 mile round trip and the dealer saying it was in "exceptional condition". I've found another now that's mint and I pick it up tomorrow all going well.
No this one is from up north and its gone now.
@@ItaliaAutos Ah right. Thanks.
Congratulations what a fantastic thing to own
Cheers thanks for watching
I'd most like to see you do the £1300 4 year service yourself. It'd be great to see what's involved and if some indis, like yourself, can offer at a better price. Cheers
It’s already been done but the main expense is changing the auxiliary belt I believe.
@@ItaliaAutos that's one inaccessible belt 😅
It’s £115 an hour labour lol
Nice one, Neil.
thanks paul
Nice one. Take it to the Nurburgring. Be awesome there!!!
It sure would
Fantastic car Neil great to see you purchasing it from Nuneaton, Saber is very knowledgeable on the Alfa Romeo brand.
Couldn't agree more!
