It’s usually tyre fitters that Jack them on the sill due to lack of knowledge of the model! I was always cautious where I took mine and insisted I watched and guided them.
going to look at one tomorrow. Saw your buyers guide so i hope it can help me tell if the cars solid. Little bit of a leap of faith because I dont have access to a ramp. Wish me luck :D
I've got a rustfree 159GT 2.0 jts petrol special Edition bertone blackline 2008 almost original apart from a stainless steel exhaust fitted and Thatcham alarm system and kenwood screen with reverse camera and dvd and hands free also leather interior with 18in teledials in black and silver and a beautiful car the 2008 model and was wondering the price range
Hi Neal, love your work, u have a small fanbase from Serbia as well, keep it up ! I have the same GT Blackline, can u tell me does it have DPF or not ?
For its age, it’s in remarkably good condition underneath. However, in order to soothe my OCD, I’d love to get my hands on it and give it a bloody good clean! 😁
A fundamental thing from personal experience in jtdm engines is to check / change the water pump and the belts also due to the type of construction and set-up of the frame you have to pay attention to the shock absorber arms which are very fragile by replacing them with other reinforced ones🖐🖐🍀⚪🔴
Nothing inspired jealousy in me more than undamaged and rust free GT sills. Almost all GTs I have seen have had visible damage on first look, and mine is going to have to get them replaced eventually from some jacking damage. This car has probably had some great owners and garages through its lifetime.
Deserves a good cut and polish it's as flat as a pancake and the faded badges really let it down, always a tell tale sign when buying an Alfa, if they haven't spent £3 on a badge what else haven't they done.
Who says that owner is selling? But true, there's a red GTA for sale for £20k on eBay right now yet the seller can't be bothered to change the front and rear badges which are completely worn. They are a bit more than £3 each for OEM ones however!!!
@@Negativvv Didn't say he was selling but it's not a massive undertaking or expense. I've found some of the non OEM badges actually last a lot longer than genuine Alfa badges.
Don't want to be prick, yet you lift cars wrong. In couple of years there will be rust holes, if you have car outside in colder countries with winter driving and salt on road.
Getting one of these on Saturday. Not as old but more miles. The pictures look better than this one but then they are just pictures. Hope its mint.
I see what you are doing there mate, leaving the red 166 in the back ground we want a blog on the 166 lol .
Lovely spec the Blacklines. Suits the car very well. For me this would be a great daily driver.
A GT with perfect sills and an undertray fitted? Wow!
Hi Neal, Im always amazed at how rusty and worn the Alfas are on the underside chassis in the UK.
Mine had a “ diesel runaway” few months ago, destroyed the engine. Still best car i ever owned
I wish blackline spec would have been available for 3.2 V6 aswell.

Do like the black lines only had one Alfa Romeo but plenty of lancia’s and tomorrow going to look at a 33 8v 1.7ie fingers crossed

Answered in your other comment. Thanks for watching.

Bit of TLC and that could be one very tasty Alfa, just imagine it all cleaned up and a wheel refurb.
It's in good nick why it didn't sell loads as they're a stunning looking car is beyond me let's hope the owner looks after it
nice condition neil
Is it possible to get your car undersealed these days or do you have to do it yourself?
I do it here.
Would anyone recommend a GT 1.9 jtd? Looking to get one as a daily!
Just look out for rusty sills and wings.

Hi I really need your help with timing my 166
No problem my labour rates are £60 an hour.
as Honest John would say "too many real issues with the diesel model"
What do you charge for undersealing
Depends on what needs doing but around £120
Are you going to National Alfa Day?
Yep

@@skimmingstoness The OEM badges do fade extremely fast if the car is parked outside... I think my front one has faded after only about 3 years.
Set of koni shocks for the same price
👍
Crusty no more in background pop them wheels on mine lol
That price is shocking... come one 😝someone’s got to put it 🥳
Trust you to put a damper on things 🤣
