I love the way he talks about the 14" multi. It really emphasizes how much Meinl as a brand embraces ingenuity.
I keep watching these and tbh the more i see Nick the more i love him i hope in person he is as nice as he seems in all these Sweetwater videos just seems like a really genuine guy.

I was a meinl freak because i liked the way they look ! I found out i did not necessarily like the sound so much to the trashy cymbals! Sold all my meinls and went paiste and im in love paiste for life ❤️

I'm a Zildjian guy but to me mienl is almost as innovative as Zildjian, personally I don't think sabian and paiste pay very much attention to there artists, the seem to just make what they want and then put it out where as Zildjian and mienl take more time to find out what people want.
The Pure Alloy 15'' Medium Thin Hi-Hats have my attention. Can't wait to hear them reviewed by Nick D!

Loved the Pure Alloy line since they came out. Affordable but still boast a good solid robust tone without sacrificing texture. Glad to see they're expanding it!
Battle yes, I love them to and I think that they are the line with which everyone can work, because they sound like the classic crash sound that everyone has in the ears.
Can you please get a different microphone? Your videos are great and informative, but the tone is always horrible when you are doing interviews..

So, if the Pure Alloy is going after Paiste's prior Sound control line.....I wonder if this line is going after Paiste's Dark series. If so, I'll be incredibly excited. Paiste's Dark Signature line IMO is the best cymbal made (at the most traumatic price...lol)
A mixture of Paiste and Meinl cymbals. The sounds you're looking for at Paiste but can't find, can be found at Meinl! And vice-versa.
I did the three stack hi hat with sabian and Zildjian cymbals
i like meinl, but not hearing any of the cymbals sells a whole lot of nothing to me

@@cbaum64 I would say 500$ for a 5 piece cymbal pack ( hh 2 crashes and ride) is affordable for a drummer but sabian made a b20 alloy for 500$ and meinl and other companies are stuck on b10/12 so they can do the same since its all machine made and if they want to compete/pass that market. who tryna hire me for their new cymbal company lol

Meinl you have to give distributors more cymbals in Stock!! I go to Musicians Friends, or Guitar Center whatever and they’ll only have like 50-60 cymbals available in stock 🤔
Give a call to samash. They can special order cymbals usually within a week.
Jeremy Sims that’s not a Meinl decision. Distributors purchase cymbals from Meinl to sell in their stores, so go talk to Guitar Center about that (Musician’s Friend is owned by Guitar Center). As Rob pointed out in the previous comment, check out SamAsh, they’re usually good about having more variety in stock, but just like SamAsh - Guitar Center can also special order cymbals for you.

Meinl is catering and encouraging the drumming community to save up and fork out extra cash for much nicer and better cymbals. Thank you for reinforcing this ideology in the market.

Idk about that... In comparison to the other Big 3. I think that’s unfair to only criticize them for that. Every company steals from each other (at least all they can get away with).
Jeremy Sims I don’t think that’s true at all. Meinl has never invented anything. Every one of their products was stolen and this video just shows a bunch of products developed years ago by other companies. The only “innovation” is them trying to sell you a third hihat.
himalayanbowls Zildjian noticed the impact that Meinl’s extra dry series had on the market, so Zildjian put out an entire line within their K Custom family of “special dry” Cymbals.
Sabian has done the same thing with Zildjian. Paiste has also followed suit by adding additional hammering and thinning the profile of their “big beat” series. All brands in all industries do this to follow trends and increase market share.
Lastly, Meinl wasn’t the first to offer a third hi hat. Dream Cymbals and Zildjian were doing that for years - so the only positive takeaway from your message is actually incorrect :)
It’s okay to borrow ideas from companies! It’s how people find what they really want in an open market.
@@petewanca The point is Meinl is the only company that has never invented anything. All of their products are ripoffs. All the other brands have made a real contribution even if they do copy each other. Meinl is a ripoff and always has been.
