The wild tubular curved drums never get old... it's a terrible, unpractical idea that cost a bazillion too much dough to get profit, but somehow, somewhere, someone always come up with it *again* every 15 years. Just phenomenally absurd, and I'm here for it!
I will add this... *again I appreciate you doing this,* and even as a drummer (as I am too...) you captured a lot more show related content, than just drums!! *WELL DONE, YOU!!* I ALSO would love to add that, if you haven't stayed to the very last day, into the next couple of days after the show, all that *"SUPPORT" gear* (trussing, drapery, staging, backdrops, anything not musical instruments related...) or *at least around 80% will be left behind,* only to end up in a dumpster, and subsequently the landfill, or some *_"enterprising individual(s)"_* possession!! Some *can be purchased, and at literally for a penny, or pennies on the dollar* from the Anaheim convention center maintenance peeps!! Which is more than worth the effort put into acquiring that stuff and getting it back to your location at home!!! *_Also,_* I wonder if they *still approach allowing vehicles* as used in the show for a specific manufacturer(s) as *"support gear,"* which isssss, (THE last time I saw a car on the show floor..,) in 1999, any fuel removed, the drive shaft removed, the carburetor or injectors removed and in 2024... The drum section becomes deafening if no one does it. Like earplugs become necessary some years. But sometimes they are too strict, and they become annoying.

Yeah, I used to go pretty often when the kids were small. I'd drop them and my wife off at Disneyland and go park near NAMM. I'd spend the morning poking around and go get McDonalds or whatever to take in to the family. The thing about NAMM for us was that Disneyland used to be EMPTY during the show. You could walk onto any ride, no wait, no line no problem at all. At least not until late afternoon evening. Then it got busy, but we'd leave and go get dinner at that point so it didn't matter.
Guven snares looked amazing. I will say, a bit disappointed you went to the tama booth and didn't show the bell brass or rosewood 😢 I've seen plenty of videos but would've liked to hear your take on em
Unfortunately by the end of day 1 it’s really hard not to get burnt out because there’s so much “stuff”. And this year was even harder because unlike previous years there was no “NAMM Police” dealing with the pure noise saturation. Dont get me wrong…. Attending one NAMM can be fun, especially if you go with a few friends or know a manufacturer or two as the real fun starts going out to dinner or seeing live music events. But if your focus is primarily in one discipline (say guitars for example) without the brands like Fender or Gibson there, (LTD has a great section however) NAMM can get a bit boring because everyone seems to be trying to build a better mouse trap. Thanks for posting this though. Getting to see Otamatone again just one more time was totally worth it😂

This was the tail end of the improv, it was going on for awhile. Here's why it got shut down. There's people walking around we call "the NAMM police," they work for the convention center. The drum section gets INCREDIBLEY loud, so these guys run around with decibel meters and tell people to shut up when they play too loud. The kicker is, the booths owners can get in trouble, maybe even shut down.
