Dunno if anyone gives a damn but if you're stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies and series on Instaflixxer. Have been watching with my girlfriend for the last days =)
This performance is a slow, soul-filled burn if I've ever seen one. Can't begin to count how many times I've sat back to take this one in over the years. Thanks, fellas.
R. Simone they will be one , there too good not to be , but I know thre are so many that should be in , but really good chance there getting in eventually
Same! One of my favorite bands & songs of all time! Why in the name of all that is holy isn’t Bad Company in the Hall of Fame also?!? Oh yeah! Politics. They are both in my Hall of Fame for sure!
Because, primarily, Chris Robinson has been on a personal crusade to prove how much better than he is than everybody else. In a nutshell, just my long-time take on things TBC. Damn that Marc Frickin Ford for his interpretation and phrasing of these classic riffs. Face it, this music belongs to the "great song in the sky"... right Chris?
And his dad told him he couldn’t carry a tune in a water bucket. I would have loved to have been there when he played Shake Your Money Maker album for the ol’ asshole. I would have shoved my gold album straight up his old ass after showing it to him. 😂 Luckily he made his pops a fan after hearing the record. And honestly who could have listened to that album and not have been fans afterward? That fuckin record kicks ass, every number from start to finish straight up fuckin jams!
I saw that amazing tour, with my late friend of 35 years...amazing show, and a glowing Pot leaf backdrop! I'm gonna see CRB in 2 weeks, I can't wait! Just got my new Tommy Tie dye shirt last week too...
Such a great band. They grew and changed with every record. It probably helped that they changed lead guitar players so many times. This was the best line up. But every record is amazing. They really became a jamband near the end. But stuck to their rock and soul roots!
@@pepperguy in providence Rhode island, at the time my boss was from texas, we all chipped in, loaded in a van, took him to see his favorite band, great memories....✌😎✌...rock on russ, wherever you are...
Very bluesy and raw live version of Sister Luck ! Man I tell you this : The more I listen to it the more I like it! ON this early Crowes performance CR didn't turn his head back while singing the line : " A flip of a coin might make a head turn " as he used to do every time he sung this song !!! Check out The Magpie Salute RR and MF new band venture. Thank you for the upload.
Really nice comment man. Marc Ford - they can all bow to that man - what a force. More soul in that mans little finger than most people's whole life. Love this band more with every passing year.
Damn! I remember blasting this album, 'SHAKE YOUR MONEY MAKER', back in 1989~1990 & they were playing in Columbus, GA @ a night club with another band on the bill, too, but the tix were only $12 back then!!
Now this is, and will always be, soul and blues that I personally feel to my core. This person...clemsontigz...below, is still hung up, on image. very shallow and very sad...definitely a young soul.
For the life of me..I can't believe AnyoNe would give this a thumbs down are you kidding me? This is probably one of the best live performances of any group I've ever seen right up there with Led Zeppelin. Whoever give this a thumbs down is an idiot
Sometimes I feel like Sister Luck is screaming out somebody else's name also. Wish these boys would get over their childhood differences and get back to making music.
Chris Robinson is one of the most soulful and authentic lead vocalists and front men in Rock music over the last fifty years. The Crowe’s music is standing the test of time. However, in live performances, like this one, he “buries” the music and lyrics with his overt attempt at being just such. Don’t get me wrong, I get the imagery and over-the-top live approach to his performance style but The Crowe’s lyrics and his vocals are so vital to the studio versions of their music that I wish he’d simply incorporate that in to his stage performance. More times than not, he does a little too much. Okay, bring on the hate!!!
Check out this version of the song from 1996, where he scales back the over-singing and his voice is even better. The Beacon Theater 1996 one is great, about 27 mins for this song. Unmatched vocal, phrasing and delivery.
Was always my one complaint also. A friend warned me before seeing them for the one and only time in '95 that he nearly ruined the songs in live performances. Turns out my buddy was kinda right. Your comment he just did a bit too much is dead on. Still, he was a great vocalist, and still listening to their music, 30 years on.
I love the crowes, but why does Steve always have such a shitty snaredrum sound? I mean really, listen to the freak n roll show, and all the other live shows, it's always a real thin sounding snaredrum imo..
I am one of the biggest Crowes fans since 1990-1991 until the END.And it did END.This joke of a money grab fake bogus redo is shameless. But Mr Chris R has no shame. From the BS Deadhead jam BS phase etc one of the Greatest Rock bands didn't achieve their potential. Read" Hard to Handle"by the awesome Steve Gorman will fill in the blanks. And make you want to punch punk ass Mr Chris R in the face. The reason they are not in the RRHOF is because he is a complete utter asshole. But then again the HOF controlled by Jan Wenner is a whole different animal. It really is a biased ,illogical fill in the blanks anyway...so who really cares about them. You want to scratch you head- look at the too 500 albums of all time according to RS.Its mindboggling ridiculous. What freaking planet are they on-I meant have been on for years.A complete utter joke .So there we are.Salute to the Black Crowes music..like your fav pair of jeans.Oh well
The "deadhead" phase is overblown in terms of it being an issue. They rocked the SYMM songs in 1996 as much as any time before or since. A 5 minute rhythmic intro jam is not something that a hardcore fan would react poorly, too, or even a casual fan. Their jams were very accessible.American records was going under and they got no push from Rubin anyway in terms of financial backing. The real fans saw the added brilliance for what it was from 1994-1997 through Amorica, 3 Snakes and the fantastic, unreleased Band record that was done by spring of '97. They rocked, had great covers, short "jams" and were the best band of their generation, regardless of popularity, If they tried to be popular, they would have done that, and they wouldn't have been as good. They had 3 records of material in 1996 and 1997 if they wanted, and they only released one album, mainly to the continuous brothers arguing about the material they had. The 2005 reunion tour showed their wide ranging dynamics on tour..2 sets, 3 hour shows, with something for everyone.

the most criminally under rated band in rock history - SO much soul!
Tal vez ellos sean una banda infravalorada y usted tenga razón, pero para mi gusto, el grupo más subvaluado es Thin Lizzy. Saludos.

I hear you mate.
It's one pretty special performance !!
Take us to church, Chris! WHY isn't this band in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? Been a fan since 1989. Consistently amazing!
R. Simone they will be one , there too good not to be , but I know thre are so many that should be in , but really good chance there getting in eventually

Its 2024 and Im 43 years old.
Is in this year I listened The Black Crows for the first time and now Im listening them all days❤
5 minutes and 35 seconds of UTTER BLISS !!
If you love it REAL...
Nothing more needs to be said !!
I never understood why Chris is not considered one of the best singers of all time. Soul, range and writer. And a great dancer as a bonus.

He is a rock star, by no means a great vocalist
@@sean79779 oh boy. Didn't realize a pure vocalist was reading comments
And he was only about 9 stone ?
This song has too much soul for me to handle.
..to hard to handle? ;)...well, it makes me dancin'n'weepin' at the same time..so...for me too.. :)
nice one! ;)
Gorman's groove = underrated
I was 16 when I saw them on this tour! Got me hooked and saw them 5 more times throughout the years. Rich and Marc just got better and better!

Wow thirty years ago. Cannot believe it's been that long. Fantastic.
All these years later and this still gives me goosebumps.

It simply doesn't get any better then this.Fuckin amazing. So much soul it gives me chills!
Bands and music like this are gone, makes me sad😭
just saw them live at Wolf Trap and Chris sounded just as good if not better than he did 30 years ago. Crowes Forever and Ever !!!!!
So Awesome!!
Love this song!
The Best Of Times With Marc Ford They Use To Have A Fan Club Taller Met Some Cool People & Saw Some Cool Shows Love Them All & The Happy Times

Marc Ford is really the best guitar leed with the Crowes ,he makes the guitar crying like Mick Taylor did .
You are absolutely right. He just adds that extra oomf . Hard to explain but it just puts the song on another level.
I was a fool in 92 for not being a big fan. Today I can't get enough
Too much Soul... It's Hard To Handle ;D
seeing Black Crowes tonight: Camden NJ
They remind me a lot to Lynyrd Skynyrd...yisus I love them
Fuck! How good was that! Shits on the album version. Loved it 🤘
Two words: Marc Ford (and Chris was a much better singer 2 years after the debut album was released). From 1992-1997, no one could touch them live.
tenderloin
Love how the band is all glammed and pimped out..... But the drummer buttoned down slacks ready for church
Yes I agree !!! Underrated !!! So is was Grand Funk Railroad. !!! 😉🇺🇸❤✌🌎
Chris was at his best around this time. Maybe the whole band actually

Agree early in their career, but progressively more restrained over time and for the better live. So good.
