These dudes were absolutely on fire around this time. I'm not sure there was a band on Earth that could out-perform them. Everything is absolutely perfect. That guitar sound alone is cause for alarm.
Some dudes named Van Halen were pretty fucking awesome in 1992 as well. I love the Crowes and VH equally. They were both powerhouses in their own right. ua-cam.com/video/up75Zu2Tvtc/v-deo.html
i was 15 years old and saw this tour when they came to knoxville, tn… we made it up to the 4th row and it was definitely an “awakening”… absolutely incredible show
@Justin holleman Hey! I was there too. One of the best shows I ever saw. We all fired up joints when the giant pot leaf backdrop came out. The next year they came back and had turned into a jam band. 😢 I fell asleep during that show. What a waste.
Brings me back to 1992 and putting this cd in my truck and hoping it kicked my ass. And being so damn happy EVERY song on the cd kicked my ass. One of my top 5 albums to listen to.
Best lineup ever.. I saw them three times.... no comparison to anything else. Marc, Eddie, Chris, Rich, Steve, Johnny...never again together....THE absolute Black Crowes. 1 of THE best times of my youth !!!! Maybe I'll see Magpie Salute...if lucky...closest to the real thing. High before, during and after the show.... Sorry...there was NO other way.....
Badass tune. I remember seeing the Crowes at the Polish American Fish and Game Club in Gardener Ma. Somebody nailed Robinson in the head with a high top. Show's over.
Dennis Campbell Awesome story, I once saw Blackie Lawless from WASP throw a life size plastic skull full of fake blood into the audience nailing some poor bastards dome and it ricocheted and landed in someone's hands, show was just getting started, lol. Then Maiden came on....Marc Ford rules !
Chris Robinson was once seen drinking at a now non-existent bar in my neighborhood I missed him by a few minutes arrived after he left that's all I got
Awesome song........ I just Love the way the solo on that Les Paul sounds.. The Whole Band is Locked in with each other.__ One of my favorites from this Album...
best song ever, aside from JC Superstar, this song gave me the strength I needed to slow down my drinking, the band is so young here! The video showcases his vocals better too.
Steve (on the phone with Mrs. Gorman before the show): "Hi honey, I'm gonna be home late. A long day at the office. Non stop meetings since 9 AM. Need to blow off some steam, gonna jam with the guys for a while after work on my way home. Later. Love you. Bye."
I have yet to hear a live version of this where Chris sticks to the script. He's never ever sung it as on time as in the studio version. My favourite Crowes song but his constant improv adds nothing to the tune. I just watched 2013 footage and he's still noodling around all the way thru, ignoring the original melody and ALL of the timing.
@@stardawg77 I seen Living Colour twice in the 90's 1st time was great, pretty much like the record. 2nd show was kinda ruined by the singers constant, in tune but off putting, improv melodies. I don't want everything just like the record but if a singer abandons the songs melody and timing is it the same song anymore?
Sorry if this is answered already but by any chance does anyone know which location this is from? I saw them on this tour in ‘92 as a 16 year old kid (changed my life obvs) at the Sunrise Musical Theater in Sunrise, Florida. Just wondering what the odds are that this video is from there
These guys were great for the first few albums when they were a tight blues band, Southern Harmony & Musical Companion in particular. they lost me when they became a jam band. Though I wish Chris Robinson would just sing the song instead of doing creative interpretation.
Southern harmony and musical companion, desert island disc #1 of ten.
Amen.
These dudes were absolutely on fire around this time. I'm not sure there was a band on Earth that could out-perform them. Everything is absolutely perfect. That guitar sound alone is cause for alarm.
Agreed! Someone send me a clip of the stones, aerosmith, or GnR playing with this kind of power, depth, and commitment. I do not think it exists.

SO TRUE .

No shit! 20 years old when I saw this show. Damn
I know right!!!
marc ford: the most feeling in the fewest notes that I've ever heard. Brilliant.
So much feeling
Still have his Burning Tree cd
David gilmour says hmmmm..and i love marc lol
I noticed he looks so effortless
Brings me back to 1992 and putting this cd in my truck and hoping it kicked my ass. And being so damn happy EVERY song on the cd kicked my ass. One of my top 5 albums to listen to.
What a freakin voice..... and their live performances are flawless
The soul sound of spite and contempt just wrapped up with hope and compassion. Insane.
Seen this tour at the fox theatre in detroit,2nd row.simply rock man

R.I.P. Mr. Harsch
Criminally Underrated Tune! Thanks for posting!
Criminally underrated band!
Saw them in 93 and it was greatness......
Ok me of my favorites for sure
I like the hard zeppelin style guitar and drum driving in this one
This is a good song.👍 I can't get enough of The Black Crowes.
One band that is definitely better live. Marc Ford and Rich Robinson never disappoint.
So much soul and passion. Brilliant song!
Soul...for MY soul, indeed.
Ahoy Rotterdam the Netherlands. Whit a bus full whit my friends. Sometimes so stoned. Best band ever.
Thanks for this. I love this song.
This song is magical .

Two words:
MARC FORD!!!
Exactly!!! At the peak of his powers! My oh my.
Yeah man!

What's he playing, is that an Ibanez?
ThatsNotGravy nah that's a les Paul custom with p-90s
best song ever, aside from JC Superstar, this song gave me the strength I needed to slow down my drinking, the band is so young here! The video showcases his vocals better too.
This my shit! Crowes know they bad ass!
Great Music, from the best album of the best band !!! Does anyone knows if there is a dvd or bluray versions of that show ???
LOVE IT!!
Great band.
Totally in synch. In the pocket. As they say
Im just honored to be the 111th commenter on this monumental performance 😂❤
Crowes at there peak......They ruled the early 90's. The is what Rock sounds like.
Who can explain why this lineup was so magical and perfect? Those 3 first albums were RnR at its best
They sang this in Stillwater and I was there 76? 77? We didnt like the Sooners in norman. I cant remember😊
Legends
A *real* rock band.
❤love
I believe I remember seeing them and Lenny Kravitz at the Aragon!!
すんばらしい!
Chris takes us to church!!
So good
say what? almost let myself forget what real musicians do
I challenge anyone to find another Crowes song that carries the weight of this song…
No Speak No Slave, Bewildered, The Fear Years, Exit, Feathers, Cursed Diamond, etc, etc, really anything off Tall/Amorica.
That voice
Yes x 10000000000 + eleventy

Chris Robinson...my goodness!!!
Both Rich and Marc's guitars were smoking during that performance!
Mo Ford!
I think I was at this show...

Home boy is singing his ass off, true story, LOL
Ford was the sound
Steve (on the phone with Mrs. Gorman before the show): "Hi honey, I'm gonna be home late. A long day at the office. Non stop meetings since 9 AM. Need to blow off some steam, gonna jam with the guys for a while after work on my way home. Later. Love you. Bye."

Where is this show? Trying to find it on dvd
Ahoy Rotterdam the Netherlands, December 1992.
Hey, where was the, "Free Us," banner?
STARK !
Rich Robinson is superhigh!
He could hardly stand up at the show I saw in 93. Chris kept looking over at him.
Steve Marriott re-incarnated...
A modern day Woodstock
Where is this?
My mom and my uncle went to see Jellyfish open for them...and left early because they only wanted to see Jellyfish....
I have yet to hear a live version of this where Chris sticks to the script.

Agreed! Robinson's voice and tone is great! But, I've never seen a show where he didn't ruin the performance by going off script.

I believe this is from Koln/Cologne on the HATM tour. The whole show is available on UA-cam.
Rotterdam 12/1/92

THIS! I was convinced they were gonna be the next Led Zeppelin and then they turned into a fucking boring jam band.😮💨
Chicken skin fo sho!
Too bad the organ is so loud you can barely hear the solo.
