Marc Ford is the most underrated guitarist of my generation next to Rich. If you play at all you would realize how ridiculously talented these guys are.
the thing is - anyone who actually listens to and watches this whole video has to come at least very close to the conclusion that this is a masterpiece live performance. Thanks to who ever for this STELLAR audio on this video, to me this is the very epitome of rock music.Marc Ford has everything to do with that of course. But the whole band is just on fire here. And by the band I mean THIS (the original) band you are watching right now.
@@davidringo1399 Yeah while Duane was alive sure. These guys just rock and they happen to be from the south. Rick Rubin wanted to call them "the Kobb Kounty Krowes" LOL would have been brilliant.

Man I wish I could go back in time and see The Crowes live at this stage of the game. Just fabulous rock n roll. Southern Harmony was my first album as a kid and it's honestly still my favourite!
This song takes me back to being 3 years old. The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion was the first rock album I heard the entire way through at that age and this song was the one I listened to the most.
Spot on mate! A truly American band, beloved by many down here in Oz. I saw them live a few years back in Sydney and they did this and it took my head off. These guys seem so intrinsically tapped into the rich heritage of American roots, blues, country, rock, even bluegrass. America is so fortunate to have so much musical heritage to draw on.
Holy shit! First I thought: what a great video. Then i noticed that it was recorded in the e-werk in Köln. Finally I realised that I was there and saw this show live in 1992. My god, the Crowes are the best live band EVER!!!!

This is one of the greatest songs of all time on one of the greatest albums of all time. Period. No Speak No Slave into this on the album gives me goosebumps every time.
Grateful Dead - I agree on every point especially with No Speak, No Slave. It has been around nearly 28 years and I still love it as much as I did when I first heard it. But I guess that applies to the entire album.
As much as I love live music and none more than the Crowes, this is one song that I find so perfect on Southern Harmony, that nothing will ever beat the studio version. Marc's lead, the sisters singing back-up, etc, etc...What a song!
I get chills at that part of the song every time. Doesn't matter if it's the studio version or this version (which I just heard for the first time). I agree with you, best Crowes song ever!
My first TBC show was in 2005 for the reunion. The gig was in Pittston, PA at a joint called the Staircase. Steve Gorman hadn't come back yet so Bill Dubrow was drumming for them. It was a "secret show" as Mr. Crowes Garden as a warmup for the tour. They opened up with MMS and my knees started to shake. It blew me away.
This is the Devil's gospel. In the middle section Chris is like a preacher. Talking about letting your soul go (see Mephistopheles). Also, the song isloaded with pagan references like "ruby rings". Very mystical, very gothic, very cool.
Chris and Rich at war with each other just breaks my goddamn heart. It constantly reminds me of my brother Danny. I don’t even know how the shit started. But every time I hear the Crowes and watch these two it just makes me cry.
The closest I’ve ever felt to being in the presence of perfection, musically. It’s a higher consciousness kinda thing without psychedelics. Absolute bliss.
I had a long time friend/brother, this was one of our favorite songs to "ascend to" , we're no longer nothing over of all things ironically, music and band shit, when will we learn? Cheers to all of you ascending with me right now.
Wow that was a great live performance of a great song. I never did get to see the Black Crowes perform live, and I really regret not making more of an effort to see them in concert. Awesome video..thanks so much for sharing it.
Awwww yeahhhhhh, there are times when the disciple overtakes the master, and O Orpheus, Rod Stewart and the Faces never hit this hard...So the 70s evolve, and oh it feels good darlings...
Jesus Christ. These guys are too good. I saw them back in Toronto in the early 90s. They were doing Thorn In My Pride, when some jackass threw a water bottle and it hit Chris Robinson in the face. The band stopped. Robinson gave the guy shit for a minute. And then he counted them in: 1 2 3 4, and they all started at the same place. They were just such good musicians.
I completely lose my shit to this song every time i hear it.The Crowes never let you down .When you have this track and "Sometimes Salvation " on the same record there is a danger of ODing on awesomeness.Mans gotta know his limitations............
Great Recording, this is the kind of thing they should release, The into the Fog and their first live release failed to capture whats great about this band. Still see them every opportunity I get but I miss this ^^^^ Band.
here here, it's beyond me how greene ever ended up in TBC. I live in washington and I went to eastern Wa to see elvin bishop and on the way home I was lokking at a billboard about three day music fest. and on it was either marc fords electric machine or marc ford and his electric machine.I believe it was 2007. Have you or anyone out there know anything about this?
One of the best live performances of all time.
there are very few albums i will listen to beginning to end and this one at the top of the heap
Marc Ford is the most underrated guitarist of my generation next to Rich. If you play at all you would realize how ridiculously talented these guys are.
Yes, agree hole heartedly
You have no clue how much I agree with this statement
Marc Ford is in the top 10....and I'm not afrid to name them
Not in order.......Iommi / Vaughan (Stevie Ray) / Marc Ford / Hendrix / Page / Chuck Berry / Jeff Beck / Ketih Richard / Duane Allman / Clapton
Yes Marc truly is
Marc Ford ,Johnny Colt, Steve Gorman 🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸
Crowes at their apex. This song should be in rotation like Stairway to Heaven on radio.
Apex! Exactly
2x as much
I never understood why it never got the love other songs from this album got.

my absolute favorite song of all time, and a stellar performance indeed!
Kathy K a woman after my own heart !
Not technically the original, Jeff Cease was original guitarist but I know what you mean 😊
Anyone who watches this whole video loves the Crows period...Chris Robinson had it then for sure..wish he would make a comeback..
Your spot on its got everything u want in a song and a show
Best southern rock song EVER.
Marc Ford!
sorry my friend, the Allman Bros were the best Southern band ever.....Crowes maybe 3-4...
@@davidringo1399 You're both wrong. Black Oak Arkansas - the original and best southern rock band.

The Black Crowes are the greatest R n R band of all time.
They really are.
If this song can't change the outlook of your day there is something wrong with you! The Crowes only continue to get better the more I listen to them.
Seen too many concerts to count over the years. Saw these guys 4x and they are DEFINITELY one of the best live bands I've EVER seen.
First saw these fab people in 1991 Monsters of Rock. Have rocked my world ever since. All hail these rock gods❤
All I can say is wow born in 1970 this is a throwback jam
Marc Ford is an amazing guitarist
When I listen to this I hear MFF. He was cocreater in so much of Southern Harmony.
An apex moment in Crowe time. Oh to have been there to soak up that energy!
Favorite band since 1990.
The Absolute Essence of Soulful Transcendent Rock and Roll ; Exquisitely Filmed Also
Man I wish I could go back in time and see The Crowes live at this stage of the game. Just fabulous rock n roll. Southern Harmony was my first album as a kid and it's honestly still my favourite!
I was at this when it was new.
Best TBC song ! Damn this rocks !
I woke up in a whirlwind.....🤪......tbc are the best....😎
Best song of the crowes
Obbbnt
Tabuenca Jose Manuel heck yes!!
Masterpiece by The Black Crowes. I put this one on, on the way to work, allways a good day !
This song takes me back to being 3 years old. The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion was the first rock album I heard the entire way through at that age and this song was the one I listened to the most.

That must have been the tour when i saw them in Munich. Best life band ever. They played the morning song for about half an hour. Pure groove.
The drum part on the studio version is absolutely AMAZING !!

Addictive, can't get enough. Black Crowes set the bar. The flow is so natural.
This is the SHIT live!. He's fuckin hot shit on the last vocals. I saw these guys over 10 times and they NEVER EVER dissappoint.
I play it over and over and over, I love discovering awesome versions
This is really good; best version of this song that I've seen on here.
@ 6:38, crescendo and insane guitar playing. Quite possibly my fav Crowes song ever.

totally stomping, best live version I have heard of one of their best.
Best all around show on UA-cam, maybe ever....
yes sir this is what i call rock n roll nice work guys
My favorite Easter song!
Made me so emotional.... The music from the puppy-love days 😞 time flies
this one's in my all time favourite heavy rotation for over 20 years now ...
somewhere in the crowd in front of the stage, that's me!
My all-time favorite Crowes song. And this may be the best performance of it.
Another Masterpiece from the Crowes 💥
I am so loving discovering the Black Crowes! I got it bad, all these years later!
That is a rock-n-roll clinic.
AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!!!!! This is so overwhelming.

Chris & the best Crowes lineup!
Kristi Woods: agree 100%
The closest I’ve ever felt to being in the presence of perfection, musically. It’s a higher consciousness kinda thing without psychedelics. Absolute bliss.
My favorite Black Crowes song EVER!!! Great video!
I had a long time friend/brother, this was one of our favorite songs to "ascend to" , we're no longer nothing over of all things ironically, music and band shit, when will we learn? Cheers to all of you ascending with me right now.
One of the Crowes best live songs bar none. Listen to the version on 'Freak n' Roll'. Good good stuff.
I saw these guys with Jimmy Page in the 90's. One of the greatest shows of my life.
Wow that was a great live performance of a great song. I never did get to see the Black Crowes perform live, and I really regret not making more of an effort to see them in concert. Awesome video..thanks so much for sharing it.
Saw them once in their prime...they were amazing! Best concert ever!
I saw them! Album #2 , Mesa Amphitheatre, Mesa,Arizona.
Saw them several times over the years, first time being at the Trocodero in Philly back in 1990....opening for UFO!
When the guitar solos begin at 3:21 , Chris says "yes, we came here for this kinda shit!"xD. Love it! Rock on, Black Crowes!
Totally Agree .. This is the Best Black Crowes song.. And probably the Best Rock'N Roll band alive..
Still an album on my all time top 10.
WOW!
It's just stellar how good they were in the nineties, was lucky to see them in Rotterdam Ahoy a few weeks later.
Thank you for your sharing.Love to you and yours

This song kicks ass. Period.
Bad ass!!!
@TheMegaCorax I agree, no matter how bad I feel, a dose of My Morning Song will put me on a positive note. Especially the new version on Croweology...
