While early in the career the Crowes just crush it on this tour. Just amazing. Seen them nearly 50 times from opening to ZZ Top to their last tour and they never disappointed. But this early stuff is just unreal, the youth, attitude and musicianship are so far ahead of other bands of their era. So good to relive.
How times change. I’m trying to manoeuvre out of a work conference to see them in Dublin in October! I love the sheer raw approach of No Speak No Slave as done here. From start to finish, it just ascends and bursts in the last 5 seconds. Amazing!
This is the ultimate Black Crowes live tune, this is a must see if you go see the band live. Almost everything they do is better live than the record. Saw them do this in Dublin 2022 and it still blows the bollox off the building.
Saw this very same opening the second time I saw them at UC Davis in 1992. Fucking rocked. I've seen a lot of concers but this was the baddest ass sound blasting reverberating kick ass concert opening I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Lovin the Crowes since Day 1. One of my favorite bands of all time, if not THE favorite. Some years Zep overshadows them on my CD player...
Yeah this was the opening to the Louisville show I saw on the same tour. Love them, top 3 band of all time for me for sure. By far the best live band I've seen.
John Creasy Same here... Saw the 11:30 PM (2nd show of the evening) show at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT - opened with NSNS; Christmas lights flashing and massive 'Free Us' banner (big MJ leaf) behind the band. I was a fan before that night, but after, I was hooked. Since then, I've seen various incarnations of the band about 25 times, all across the country. Too bad we'll never get to share the ride one more time...
Awesome Audios I saw this tour at San Diego State in 1992. Lenny Kravitz opened. They opened with this tune and I seem to remember the curtain dropped just as the intro hook kicked in. Great show. Amazing what memories music makes some 25 years later.
The Black Crowes are the album of my life. Love their vibe, their message, their attitude and their sound. They've been with me for decades now and I'd rather give up air before I couldn't have them anymore -mM
real fans... The ones who come out year after year to a band that passes up our good time classics to playing (with little zeal sometimes) songs of lesser appeal sonically. I love the Crowes, I really do because I was around when they were the best. I saw what I saw and experienced what I was meant to... They could have been one of the 5 best ever, but they backed away and, eventually fades now. Crowes, come back, be the best, the very best ever... it's one fan's last plea..
I was at this tour and it was sweaty loud slippery portapotied venue...and the smoke was unbelievable....smoke was all over before... throughout and after the show.....it was a high as the moon drunken high fuckfest....I fuckin loved this period of my life...it was as fuckin wild as the music....
There was one show earlier in 92 I believe... Chris likely ruptured a neck disc and was never the same LOL Look up the video same song different show on the same tour I believe
I was there in AHOY Rotterdam in 1992.. me and my friends High As The Moon...The thing with the curtains...!!! ...I still get chills thinking about it..!...Best opening ever..!!!
kristian hendriks I saw a show on this tour. They opened with this song, and I was blown away. It was like nothing I had ever seen or heard. I assume you mean “the curtain” was when a huge banner of a pot leaf was let down? That’s what happened at the show I was at anyway
Here's another testimony for how INSANEly good the High as the Moon tour was. I saw them at SIU in Carbondale IL and it blew my young mind. Haven't seen anything like it before or since - set design/imagery was like something from an alt universe and I have seen a lot shows, including the BC's about 6x, and I have NEVER seen a show that rocked as hard as they did on that tour.
To this day, you hear people talking about that band at that time and how mindblowing it was. And the thing is, at that time, no one was remotely near them in terms of songwriting and tying into the brilliant musicianship they had going. They had the best keyboard and lead guitarist in music at the time.
Awesome, I went to the Louisville show on this tour, they sang this song and walked out because the cops beat the crap out of their private security when they wouldn't let them do a drug search backstage. Got to see them 7 times after this though, best live band ever!
Saw this tour at The Sunrise Musical Theater in South Florida. I've seen them 5 other times through the years from opening for Michael Schenker at a club on Ft Lauderdale beach to the last tour at The Electric Factory in Philly. They always bring it but they were really hitting their stride right here.
Yup, my former night crew manager at Michaels' (an on-again-off-again rock drummer himself, lol) wouldn't even give 'em the time of day everytime I brought some of their CDs in to spin during our graveyard shift. Think he was low-key jealous of them because he was from the same generation as them age-wise and the band he was in during his younger days didn't get to blow up on the scene the way the Crowes did. THAT'S when I knew I couldn't work with him anymore after that (well...that and the fact that he EASILY mistook Lionel Richie for Rick James when I brought in my 2001 2-CD Commordores Anthology set that one time, ugh!). This was just over a decade ago, not sure what he's up to these days and don't really care... XD
Pretty stupid that Chris Robinson kicked him out, for doing heroin. Lol, Chris was a huge cocaine and psychedelic user, who is he to judge? They aren’t the same without Ford, and now Gorman.
When these guys are doing their wall of sound guitar thing...there is no equal. the took zeppelin songs and made them tsunamis of sound. Not a big fan of their ballads..but a huge fan of their rock. This song is an ode to Jimmy Pages writing style.
I love this band. 1992 was their crossroad. They were on the threshold of being the next greatest thing ever. They backed away with progressively bad set choices catering to an "anti" success mentality and a penchant to play entire sets filled with tracks from the current album, most times the entire set (e.g. the Warpaint album) and what to the fans?
Any chance this dvd/vhs is available through torrents or something? 1992's Black Crowes were by far the best ever! The only band true to making music straight from the heart, and givin' it everything more when playing live!
Johnny is high in the mix. I like it.
While early in the career the Crowes just crush it on this tour. Just amazing. Seen them nearly 50 times from opening to ZZ Top to their last tour and they never disappointed. Well stated... Amorica I used it to get my friends turned on to the Black Crowes

Makes me crazy!! I am the same age as Chris. Well, couple months older.
This is the 1st concert I saw - Boston 1992. Opened just like this. In hindsight spoiled future concerts for me. So much energy.
Siting tight at 37 shows..something has gotta break
It doesn’t get more rock n’ roll than this
This is hands down one of the best versions of this song I have ever heard
ya. That's the way to open a show - holy moly!!!!!
The Black Crowes saved rock ‘n roll
That's the absolute truth. Amen.
This is my favorite Crowes era and this tour...fuck...this was the best opening for their shows
This tour was lit AF🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽
It is very, very difficult to rock harder than this.
jesapizza I was going to create a new account just so I could like this comment twice!
Many have wanted, few have tried, none have succeeded in rocking harder than this.
@@sweettlover123 Poison and Bon Jovi...
There are many types of rocks.
This one is granite.
Lol, my guy...
No Speak No Slave was the first live Black Crowes song I ever heard, was on this same tour. Saw them 6 times more after that, best band ever
Amen brother....ROCK ON
I hope this vid stays up forever. Can't tell you how many times I've watched it when I'm in need of Rawk.
This is the ultimate Black Crowes live tune, this is a must see if you go see the band live. Almost everything they do is better live than the record. Saw them do this in Dublin 2022 and it still blows the bollox off the building.
They are nowhere near this now. Nowhere near it.

I saw them on this tour in August 92'. in Dayton Ohio,-- has to be the best or one of the best shows I've ever seen-
Awesome Audios I saw this tour at San Diego State in 1992. Lenny Kravitz opened. They opened with this tune and I seem to remember the curtain dropped just as the intro hook kicked in. Great show. Amazing what memories music makes some 25 years later.

Don't worry about it,, they are the oxygen...
I was there😃🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
Goose bumps
saw them both times when they came to Mississippi on this tour in 1992.

Completely underated band and song. I get fired up just watching this!!!
My favorite band at the top of their game. So loved that they opened with this song. Damn I miss this version of TBC most of all.

Thank you for posting this, that tour was amazing, I saw them a handful of times on it.
Saw them on this tour. Incredible
Seen this tour in Glasgow......awesome live band.
Me too, and strangely enough , main camera position was more or less the view I had.....
Sala Celeste (Barcelona), in my case.
seen them on this tour in Indy. didnt remember any of it. I had a great time, I am sure. That is what my friends told me.
Absolutely. Incredible. (Also, Steve Gorman's pinstripe suit is awesome.)
The most impressive version of my favorite Black Crowes song. Thanks for sharing !
There was one show earlier in 92 I believe... Chris likely ruptured a neck disc and was never the same LOL Look up the video same song different show on the same tour I believe
@@jamesturner1525 That would be Koln, Germany a month earlier. Crowes at their absolute apex!
I was there in AHOY Rotterdam in 1992.. me and my friends High As The Moon...The thing with the curtains...!!! ...I still get chills thinking about it..!...Best opening ever..!!!
kristian hendriks I think they opened with this at all shows on this tour, saw them 2x on same tour in different parts of the US and NSNS opened both
@@patrickdaniel9670 And rightly so...
kristian hendriks I saw a show on this tour. They opened with this song, and I was blown away. It was like nothing I had ever seen or heard.

I was there and searching for the details tonight! Remember that little kid that we had to carry off the front row over our shoulders?
High as the Moon...Let's get it on❤
Best band ever!!!
What would not give to be in the front row at that show!!!🔥🔥🔥
Saw this tour in the UK. Still clearly remember losing my sh*t at this intro...
STREETS ahead of your Guns & your Roses
so awesome..!!
Fantastik band in top form with one of their best songs!
Rich is jumping up and down: Priceless!
Soundgasm! =D

Yes!! It was great!
A wonderful live versions of an excellent composition from their best 2nd album :-)
What a show!!!!!
Completely love 'em. Another smoked out show by them.
Best of Southern rock in a decades!
That's Rock N Roll....
The best lineup!! Luv TBC
Their best song BY FAR!
Love me some Crowes!
Thank you so very much
hell yeah! 🤩
The beat rock n roll band in the world. End of story
This is how it's done!
Not liking TBC would be reason to break up with someone. Non-negotiable. They are one of the best groups...Ever.

Marc Fuckin' Ford
Pretty stupid that Chris Robinson kicked him out, for doing heroin. Lol, Chris was a huge cocaine and psychedelic user, who is he to judge? They aren’t the same without Ford, and now Gorman.
so fucking awesome
🤘🏻✨🔥Awesome live version. But there should have been a bit more focus on Marc. Especially during the solo!
HE CAN SING HIS ASS OFF .
The first time I heard this song i couldn't believe it was on second sidenofnthe album....I'm old so forgive me for talking about sides of albums
very... coOL!
Pretty sure this is the tightest any band has been, ever
Just imagine.....plant, page, Jones, Jason Bonham, and tbc got together to make a album, and play both their own music together.......epic......😎
Vraiment génial
does anyone that was seeing this tour live remember the" free us no narcs "back drop ? 1993 high as the moon tour ...........
The absence of Ford coverage astounds me
This is no F’n joke 😦
Can we get this entire show on you tube? That would be cool
Do you want to be free?
Then don't speak like a slave to me

And today the dominating music is...........Ed Sheeran!

Sala Celeste.

Crowe’s singing about loose women

Look the fuck out
Quality music in a time when shit grunge (think pearl jam) was having it's 4 years of fad.
Why? Because he play in open G? You're freakin' nuts! Forgive yourself for posting an asinine comment. Other than that no one cares.
These guys have zero chance of making the hall of fame. Damn farce.
