Hi! I just found your channel this morning while looking for Christian homeschool curriculum. I am a grandmother who is going to homeschool my 5 year old granddaughter starting next month. Both her parents have to work and we are so grateful they still have jobs at this challenging and confusing time in our country. Our focus will be Bible and scripture memory, math, and phonics. She loves animals, nature, and art. I am looking at her curriculum, TGand TB and My Fathers World. I am binge watching your video's at this moment. I am a visual learner and so is my granddaughter, so "seeing" examples of how homeschool is done is a blessing. Thank you for sharing. God bless
Thanks so much for watching! How wonderful that you are going to homeschool your granddaughter. What an awesome grandma! I used my fathers world with my oldest in kindergarten. It is a fantastic curriculum for new homeschoolers. So nice to meet you ☺️
I’m looking up so much today and I just so happen to keep finding your videos 😊. Thank you so much. You seem like such a great mom and an inspiration!!!!
So impressed with Gather Round Nice how there is personal accounts from patients with diseases and hand painted illustrations Loved hearing from Noah,, Leah and Mariah Joy about what they enjoyed learning about the most and seeing the cell models Awesome job by teacher and students 🍎📒📚
I chose to start with inventions and ideas this coming year. But this tempted me to add human body to our year. I know our general science skips it as a science topic and I really want to incorporate it into our year and the fact that it has poetry definitely appeals. Now I just need to figure out where to put it. Lol
First let me say great video!. We will be using gather Round this year for the first time in my now 5th year of homeschooling. Its is what I have been needing. I have middle, early elementary, early reader. I have enjoyed your videos mostly the one where you prep for the human body unit. it was so helpful for me. I planned for the first semester to do Earth science, North America, oceans, then South America.
Great review! We will be incorporating GR into our homeschool this year. We have a mixture of Masterbooks and GR. I'm so excited! It's going to be an awesome school year!
We love Gather Round! What units are you planning on doing for the future? I hope you will continue to post your planning & reviews because I love your ideas! I think I want to do human body now just so I can do some of these activities with my kids lol!
Hi there 👋🏼 I am putting together a video in August talking about what units we plan to cover this year. I’m also planning to continue to do plan/prep & reviews as we go. Thanks for your encouragement!
For review we love games! I've noticed that each unit lends itself to a different kind of game depending on the appendix resources. For Oceans, we played "WHO AM I" with the ocean creature cards, slowly reading the descriptions until someone could guess the creature and get a candy. For those vocab cards, I could see a kind of buzzer match up with an older + younger child teams...the older child reading the definition, and the younger trying to find the right answer first. With NAB I wish I had gotten the cornell bird book earlier and we would have played "match the bird song." Mixing it up and keeping it fun is our flavor
I LOVE this type of content! :) I was so excited to see this show up today! Do you do GR every day? Do you do other curriculum as well or GR+math? I'm STILL trying to find our rhythm with GR!
Thanks! Last year we started GR in January and did it 3-4 days per week (leaving plenty of time to finish other curriculum we were already using). This fall GR will be our spine and we will do it 4-5 days per week and supplement less with other curriculum (video about all of this coming in early August!)
This was a fantastic review! Can this unit (or all GR units)be used just as a science unit? That’s all I need, we have resources for all other subjects. I just need a human body science unit. My daughter will be in the early elementary notebook. Thank you!
@@EverydayHomeschooler thank you so much for getting back to me! Would you say the unit is worth it even if I would not be using a good chunk of the notebook? Would I be just skipping the subject pages and not lesson parts? I want to make sure we’ll be learning all about the body from a creation perspective. And that the book list/videos supports, for the most part, that fact. In the case you are familiar with TGTB unit about this topic, do you have any feedback? Thank you! 🍁
We’re using Gather Round for my high schooler. She’s the last one. ☺️ We’ve already started slowly. We should pick up speed soon, though. She’s doing units Oceans, Africa, Space, Artists, Human Body, South America and probably start some US History mini units, or maybe just one. We’ll see!
Everyday Homeschooler it really was a great fit last year. But she didn’t get to as many units as I had hoped but it’s not what we started with. She did North American Birds, Christmas unit, and Asia.
Tholis was a really thorough and well done review. The only question I still have is about the language arts aspect to the unit. Is it comprehensive enough?
Thank you! It definitely depends on your child’s age and skill level in language arts. If they are young elementary some type of phonics/reading program will also need to be used. If they’re older and need extra writing/grammar/spelling practice you may need to supplement. I actually talk a lot about this in my Gather Round Q&A video: ua-cam.com/video/X2f3-FNFaJU/v-deo.html
Did they speak about the reproductive organs? If there's lessons on it, is the penis in the illustrations intact and do they talk about the functions of the foreskin? Thanks!
Thank you for this review. This will be my FIRST time homeschooling, and I have a 2and, 3ed and 4th grader. I think this will be perfect for my children. My question is, do I need to purchase 3 different workbooks?
It depends on if you are ordering print or digital from gather round. Each of your kids will need their own workbook of student pages. So if you’re ordering print you’ll need to order 3 sets of student pages and one teacher guide. If you order digital you will need to print 3 student sets and use a teacher guide.

Yes, you could just skip the student notebooking pages that are not needed (Language arts, history, etc.)

Hi there👋🏼 We LOVED the space unit! I’m super interested in how gather round works for you in high school - keep me posted!

No reproduction is not covered.
@@EverydayHomeschooler okay thank you.
My concern about unit studies is that I don’t know how they can cover all the language studies including grammar, spelling, etc.
Gather round does a great job, but we do supplement with some other language arts
