- MEDEAE DAEMONES by NUBES is a new graphic novel that takes the world-famous new Latin tragedy by Stefano "@RVMAK" Vittori from the stage to your hands in a 100-page beautifully illustrated book, with original full Latin metrical text and English or Italian translation. In this video I interview Stefano Vittori, Marina @MusaPedestris Garanin, and Francesco Vacca about this incredible endeavor.

It's so refreshing to see Lucius carry out an interview where the other person isn't halting and trying to remember half-forgotten Latin classes, but is holding forth every bit as smoothly and melodiously. I tried turning on the captions, and all it could say was [musica]. I could not agree more.
Optime!
I love these videos that are just in pure latin. It actually helps with me learning latin, thank you Scorpio Martianus!
Gaudeō!
I love it too! And I have NOT had any formal Latin instruction; I just speak Spanish as my second language. For me spoken Latin like this is far easier to take in than written. I’m not entirely sure why that is. 😅
Multas gratias!
Luke, how do you spell "comic and comics" in Latin?
Liber nūbēculātus" is Latin for "comic book".
PULCHERRIME fecisti, amice! Mihi perplacet introductio!
Quod tibi placet gaudeō, amīca!
I was wondering if folks would begin to make new art of some kind in Latin. Like, maybe short stories in Latin? Skits in Latin? And I think it would be interesting to “grow” the language out so you’d have modern-day people talking about 2023 and beyond, but they’d be using Latin or other ancient languages.
Can even be extended to usage as a "common" language between peoples of different countries!
Mīror mē omnia intellēxisse. Tam pulchrē at tam plānē loquentur; minimē dubitō num optimī sint histriōnēs!!
Ok, XIV century-ish medieval Castillian here because this is the closest I can competently get to Latin 😅 (XII century Cid-style Castillian is too hard to imitate)... I'm amazed though of how much I think I'm understanding from the interview (I'm a PhD in Linguistics...)
Euge! Me place multissimo.
Faba sacra loci!
Hic mihi placet 👍👍
would be fun to have a Latin voice to chose from in Google maps navigation...
Fantastico! ❤
Grātiās, amorcule mī! ❤️
Utinam nunc floreant ubique tales res!
Gratias tibi! :)
Pulcherrime ! Utinam cupirem Stephanī Marinaeque tragoœdiam in manibus meīs habēre ut solus legam quid tragoadiæ ipsæ āb Franciscī librō differat.
Hey Luke. So I've noticed after listening to you speak Latin, and my Brazilian Portuguese girlfriend speaking Latin, and simultaneously hearing the beauty of italian...
Something sounds slightly off about the rolled "r" sounds I hear, when I hear myself, her, or you speaking Latin. I can't put my finger on it. Almost like a slight aspiration, like an "h" sound superimposed by non-native speakers that just sounds off, and it bothers me to no end. But Italians don't have it to my ears. Thoughts?
Huh, no, I’m not sure what it could be. You’d have to identify a specific instance for me to check
Grazie mille! Altrettanto :)
Quoque me place ornamenta aegyptica qui Marina habet in collum suo, pulchrissima linea
Gratias! In ipso Aegypto emi :)
Me excusa, possemne scriptum tuum corrigere?
Salvē ScorpioMartiāne!
Habeō quaestiōnem tibi, quī bene nōtum est lingua Rōmānōrum:
Quōmodo verbum "Quōmodo" prōnūntiandum est?
Dēbetne accentum collocārī super -QUŌ an super -MO?
Sī ūnum verbum effers, QUŌmodo = how
Sī duo, quō MOdō = in what way
Optimē! Grātiās tibi!
Certe italiter pronuntiant linguam Latinam hi interpetes, quia Italica lingua sunt versati.
Always a delight when you guys get together to converse in Latin. Stefano has a wonderful intonation. I'm curious whether Marina's outfit is based on a specific historical culture? You might possibly have discussed it in the video, but I am a barbarian, and sadly do not understand Latin. Thanks for all the excellent content as always.
Thank you so much! I totally agree on Stefano's intonation! The outfit was just for fun, I love particular styles. It's Egyptian actually, I bought in Egypt this month where we were on honeymoon 🙂
@@MusaPedestris Oh, honeymoon? Did you recently get married? If so, many congratulations!! 😀 Really happy for you guys and wishing you all the best! 🎊
@@potman4581 Yes, we did! Thank you so much! :)
