I got one for Christmas, it is beautiful. It's my first mechanical watch. + or - seconds do not matter to me. I have perfect time on my cell phone. No this is a watch that you need to interact with each day which to me is the best part. I like the small size, it's true to original spec, same with the strap. All the guys at work have giant heavy divers that cost more than double...let:s see if they know watches or is it just posture.
I guess it can be a dress watch. This watch is a strap monster. Dress it up or down. Looks great in a red/burgundy strap. This is an all time classic watch. I wear it everyday. I like it more than my Swiss watches.
Whatever this Timex Marlin ‘s movement is, it is still one of the most beautiful watches that does not lose its look like, I don’t know, “working class watch”? It’s like it looks good without looking excessively fancy.
i got one for the holidays. I like the style, size and weight etc and would be thrilled if I were getting the +/- 10 sec/day you're experiencing; mine runs more like 25 sec/day. I'm sure some would say that's within spec but it really annoys me. I'll likely be returning mine.
@@watchyourstyle Done! I was planning to, but I currently have a vintage Omega (similar size to the marlin) that I haven't been wearing enough. I might end up selling it and getting a Tisell instead.
@@watchyourstyle Yes it's actually running quite well! I think it's getting overshadowed by my current watches. I recently purchased an Orient Star RE-AU0004B00B, and I feel so spoiled by the finish compared to my Omega Genève. The power reserve is such a neat feature, and I would put the quality above that of the Seiko SARB033. Unfortunately, smaller watches haven't stuck with me as much as I thought too. I was actually looking to buy the Tisell sun and moon. It comes in pretty big at 43mm, but I was planning to have it as a manual wind watch I would use every now and then.
hi! how long your timex marlin reissue works from fully wound to stop? I just got mine brand new, fully wound it (the crown resist already) at around 1.30 PM, then the second stop at around 10.20 PM, which means only last about 9 hours. Is it normal?

The brown strap looks really good with the watch! I just ordered a marlin reissue and it should arrive in a couple days. Great review
May I ask where to buy this strap? It matches very well!!

You could just get it regulated by a watchmaker.
Great review! Been contemplating about buying this piece. Looks great.

Ditto: I now have one. It’s based upon model 2017 from 1965, believe that the 1965 model came with a bracelet rather than a band.
May I ask what strap that is? Really love the look of that Brown!
Charles Li liked and sub'd, sir! Thanks!!
Id love one of these, especially in gold tone

@@watchyourstyle is it a problem if it was stopped after about 12-13 hours even if i hand wound it until the crown resist?
lovely watch
Great review! Very informative!
Thank you so much!
In layman's terms, your Tag looks like it's got quality up the yin yang. (of the highest quality)
I like those Marlins very much at half price.
I thought the case back was see through
If they made a 38mm, I'd be all over that.
Champagne dial?, where can I find one of these?...
The Timex website, you moron.
You haven’t lived until you have seen some the 1960’s versions of the Marlin, as some were breathtaking to view and too wear.
Movement?
Seagull st6 19jewel movement
you have girly arms and hands , so dont wear small vintage watches
Charles Li you cant have it all ;)
