Because of your review buddy, i bought the champagne dial, and it's classy but not subdued, for a 34mm its has its own flamboyancy, its takes me back to a by-gone era, this is a keeper, thanks for the review
Hi Norman. I can recall buying a mechanical Timex in the early 80's. I think it cost me about £15. At that time, they still made their own movements and had a factory in Scotland.
The silver dial looks almost identical to a genuine vintage Marlin to me. Good looking watches, although 34mm, a cheap Chinese movement and a $200 price tag is not a combination that entices me to buy one. I am just starting to get "sort of" comfortable wearing 36mm again.
You know what - honestly I didn't even realize there was one. lol - just got this watch out to see how I could have missed it. Yeah if there is one, it is suuper subtle. I feel like for a couple $100, I don't think it would bother me, but more expensive than that I feel like a no date movement could/should have been used. That's hilarious that I missed that. hehe
@@KillingTimeWithNorman I’ll be ripping on that aspect when I review my Snoopy Marlin. No excuse for a watch at that price point from a major brand like Timex. Lazy and obvious cost cutting if you ask me.
@@AvgJoeWatchReviews If the rumor about the movement in this is true, that's like next level cost cutting shenanigans - converting an automatic movement to a handwinder. -- But I can't help it I love Marlins lol. Looking forward to your vid! A bit of justified ripping is always entertaining. :)
Expensive and a chap repro with an acrylic glass, I have a similar 2017 Marlin, doesn’t wind like a vintage watch with its Japanese inside, the straps are rubbish, cheap imitations, the case which the watch relates to - 1965 was wrong, I have a few 1960’s Marlins, this fake watch was overrated and too pricy at entry-level, better to buy the original 1960 models instead and get quality.
@@KillingTimeWithNorman It’s all trial and error, I came across the originals some years ago, was excited to learn of the new versions, did get the silver repro Marlin recently, although not new, the strap had been replaced… see clearly the changes to reduce cost of production, liked the face and hands of the new silver, also have a 1968 version in silver - I love it!.

Yes! Very cool. Yeah these truly capture the vintage aesthetic and overall essence! Comgrats on the new watch! 🍸🍸

What a deal even at that time! Cool!!
This model is still on my ‘add to the collection’ list. I’ve been thinking about getting one for over a year now and it still appeals to me.
They ARE gorgeous little watches! :)
Love the grey on black, surprisingly legible.
Thanks!! Yeah it totally is
The Marlin is such a vintagey looking beauty. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Oh for sure! No prob. Timex is killin it - lovin' their 70's pieces too... and of course their Peanuts pieces.
Norman, been loving your show since I subbed last week. Keep up the great work.
Oh! Cool! Thanks so much for watching. Glad you are enjoying! 🍸🍸
Great review 👍 I have the Timex Mk1 mechanical 36mm with the same Seagull moment, it has been very accurate @ approximately +10 seconds a day.
Nice! I just love the Marlins! Go Timex.
I own five. Two champagne dials (Found one at Nordstrom for $20), blackout, California dial and now the new viscount style. The perfect watch.
Nice! Killer Nordstrom find wow. Yeah the Marlins are so great.

Yeah 34mm is no joke heh.
I don't think I've hunted for these on eBay, may be good deals there.
36mm is such a great size -- for vintage and field watches. :)
Marlins are iconic, great vid bud 👏👏👏
Thank you, man! They really are! You still have the Giorgio? Or did the crystal prove too annoying?
@@KillingTimeWithNorman 😂😂😂 still have it lol
What are your thoughts about the ghost position on these?

what is on your right wrist? looks nice. I had to pause the video but couldn't get a good view.
Oh! That is the absolutely amazing Polerouter - my favorite watch :)
Constants in this world :-
1) He is Norman
2) It gets late (at night)
3) I have Norman induced insomnia
LOL!
There may not be sleep... But there WILL be watches.
You sure it's polished (i.e. steel) and not chrome?
According to Timex's website it's stainless steel. According to them at least. :)
Is there a place to buy this watch below 200 euros?
Hmm I'm not seeing anything under $200. You COULD maybe track down a Valentine's Day coupon code or similar to bring down the price a little.
Volume
I've recently been bumping up my volume. Thank you! 🍸🍸

I actually haven't seen a vintage Marlin in person yet. I should someday, so I can compare the two. Would be interesting.
