Wow, as a native english speaker you don't realize how much work goes into each phrase, connected speech is an art when used beautifully.

This is the most useful English video that I found on the internet. Don't know how many times I asked about my problems in English to a bunch of people and nobody could define them. But you did it elaborately. toda :)

    1. It's not about how fast I speak
    2. It's about how I connect the last syllable to the front of another syllable, instead.
Lemme keep these two things in mind. I'm waiting for another connected speech training from you, Hadar

Great video Hadar. Love your content. I'm an international English student living in the US. The first time I watched your video was in class with one of my speaking and pronunciation teachers. He was trying to explain the difference between "sheep" and "ship". It was the first time I could learn the difference between these and similar vowels. I really appreciate how passionate and respectful you are in helping us build our communication and confidence.

Interesting. This topic is something that never got covered in my speech and communications classes or any of my acting classes. But it is true! And sadly, the concept of connecting means that people aren’t enunciating properly.

Hadar, connecting speech sometimes it's heard as one long word instead of multiple words connected so it's difficult to distinguish exactly what a person said, most of the time I got the general idea by context. I do understand when you say separate words might delivery a different message. Yet I believe the struggle comes exactly because an ESL learner is not able to catch the whole sentence because most times phrases are said without breaks. Reading needs grammatical punctuation to understand, so same happens with listening, those pauses let you process the message. Why do you think this happens? Is it a matter of repetion and get used to the sounds? Do you think an ESL learner would be able to express themselves as a native does? Been using and learning English both in a classroom and by myself and yet I don't feel very confident with my listening nor speaking, in others words don't believe I've improved.
