Love how these food item look so cultural. Tofu alone is such a luxury in the Philippines is just street food in Indonesia. I just ate in a Muslim restaurant in Southern Philippines, so they had those compressed rice. They use Chopsticks for that first dish???? The serving sizes are very generous for the noodles. The Sambal alone is so rich. What is interesting is that they Use Chopstick in a place that is just for the masses.
tofu/tahu industry is quite big in Indonesia, probably every big city have their own group of tofu maker source... usually semi home industry so the quality really varies between market some higher price tofu have their quality controlled
Hey kuyaa... I used to buy Philippines tofu here in Bahrain. The Philippines tofu that I used to buy here is softer compare to Indonesian tofu that more solid. Both are good only for different types of food. If I want to fry the tofu I prefer Indonesian tofu but if I want to cook something soupy I prefer Philipin tofu. Regards
That Baso Goreng is very interesting, it really looks like a flower, that can be called Fried Pork Flower, haha! That grill toast is really attractive, and the boss may have learned iron palm kung fu, so he's not afraid of being heat at all, so amazing! The Bandung's street food is very similar to Taiwanese snacks, very interesting. Luke, thank you for sharing! 👍😀🙌
Looks delicious, love Indonesia, always wana see that country, actually all asia is realy cool, tnx Luke, u r a good eater, love it how u every time take the food, enjoy,
one thing I like about reviews by Luke is that not ALL foods are wonderful. I like when he states something is not his favorite or not up to his expectations. His reviews are therefore more believable. I get it that taste is very individual. I don't like ikan asin, or any jeroan, so if he says fantastic, I can accept his preferences but overall, he is very believable.
You delivered a good food review with comprehensive facts. The fun fact: most Indonesian foods are adjustable to personal taste, we can adjust the sweetness, spiciness & sourness level of every dish. Have a great food exploration.
Wow luke …you have a good source ..all the food from bandung is really good …really famous ..only local know about it …congrats !!enjoy your holiday in bandung …love your video gbu

Been watching your culinary videos in Bandung. As a person who was born and raised in the city, I can say you did a good research. That’s where the locals go to find good food 👍🏻
Omg i miss Bandung so much, i came there on 2016, not really explore the authentic culinary bcs i came in hurry, i just tried seblak and lotek, one of Bandung authenticity. Your visiting makes me even more miss it 😢
Nice. I lived there for three years in the 1970’s. Baso Tahu was definitely my favorite. I would go to Dalem Kaum by the big mosque late at night and be surrounded by locals watching me eat and rap in Sundanese. My evening started with a visit to a Jamu stall for a traditional herbal health remedy (Kuat Laki2). Then over to the kaki limas for the big event, a plate of baso Tahu Bandung. For desert I would travel home to Lembang on an Oplet and walk the neighborhoods until I found the Tukang Bandrek who sold sweet ginger tea. And then finally I would get ten pieces of Pisang Goreng (fried banana) from this warung on the road to Ciatur. Minimum rokok Gudam garam. Sedan. What a night!
Very recommend you to try our coffee during youre in here... And try to the authentic way of enjoy coffee like charcoal coffee (kopi arang) in Yogya. Bandung it self had a lot of famous coffee shop. Like blue doors, purnama, Aroma (just sell the traditional beans), djawa, etc...
Omg you came to my city! And I'm actually surprised that you chose Mie Gagak as your one of your destination. Not many people know that place. Enjoy your trip!
Bandung born and bred here. Thanks for giving me more ideas on what to order on Gofood and GrabFood! And kudos on your Indonesian pronunciation! (Btw, you need to work on your ‘kerupuk’ pronunciation 😉)
i guess he had kerupuk in malaysia first so he's used to the malay's pronunciation which is "keropok". in another video he pronounce "rujak" as "rojak" too.
in bandung you should go to cihapit street there’s a lot food there… from the old school one like trikuto etc and the new school like gang nikmat serojabake
I really want that Kupat Tahu!!! live in west java, but only discovered kupat tahu 2-3 years ago its a perfect breakfast, much lighter than ketoprak/gado2
and I understand why you dont really like Bakso Goreng and prefer Batagor... since from what I see Bakso Goreng is more like a spinoff of Batagor. Batagor is one of the OG snacks from Bandung (you can find it everywhere in big cities in Indonesia)
so happy you tried my fav bandung street food that is Roti Bakar 234! (or locals like to say Roti Bakar Gang Kote, because it is located in Gang (alley) Kote) it's still the best roti bakar/toast for me. you should try going to Sari Sari next time you're in Bandung, they sell all kinds of Indonesian traditional snacks and so far that i've tried i think they're all delicious!
oh, you evil man... I went to college in Bandung and have not set foot again there for way so many years and YT algorithm just pop this one out on my page... Enjoy the great street food there man! I can only munch pizzas and pasta up here in Milan... Selamat Makan to you. Great video as always.
