First Impressions of BANDUNG 🇮🇩 INDONESIA Travel Vlog-Cihampelas Citywalk, Braga Street, Gedung Sate

- After spending the last 10 days in Sumatra, we took a flight from Medan to Bandung on Java Island. Bandung is the 4th biggest city in Indonesia and is located only 2 hours from Jakarta. We flew to Bandung where we spent a couple days catching up on work and going to the gym, which was amazing!!
The first day we went out exploring, we weren't planning on exploring Bandung, however everything was so cute that we ended up exploring anyway!! We ended up walking along the Cihampelas Walk on our way from our hotel to the gym. We were surprised by how cute the walkway was up above the streets! After the gym, we bought some Indonesian street fruit on the way back to the hotel. After arriving back at the hotel we had to print some papers. We found a printshop by the Paris Van Java Mall so we headed there to try to print....we were amazed by the mall!! It was so green and decorated very nicely. There were even horses inside the mall! We made our way outside of the mall and down an alleyway that looked like it lead to the printshop, however the location on googlemaps was wrong. We ended up talking to a GoJak driver who explained how to get to the shop correctly, which was not where we were walking!
We went back to our hotel and continued to work. The next day we started exploring Bandung at the zero kilometer mark. From there we went up the famous Bandung Braga Street. There was so much art all over the street, it was so cute! We wanted to go to a famous Dutch bakery, however the bakery didn't have food and we were very hungry. Instead we went to Jurnal Risa Coffee for some pasta and pizza. We then continues up Braga Street to explore the various parks and colonial buildings around Bandung such as the Gedung Sate building, the West Java People Struggle Monument, and the Babakan Siliwangi City Forest Walkway. We had an amazing time exploring Bandung!!! Stay tuned for our next videos which will be exploring the areas of Lembang and Ciwidey in Bandung, Indonesia!

Bandung is the best! Nice people, clean, and beautiful city. One of the only three cities in Indonesia I really do love and miss, the other ones are Jogjakarta and Makassar but Bandung is on the top of the list.

I’ve followed your Indonesian journey for a while and I’m gladly surprised you were visiting Bandung, my hometown 🤍 here are a few fun facts you may not have known:
1. The Braga street used to be even more lively back then, when the pandemic hit it was so deserted and had been slowly recovered and a lot of cute cafe had opened there.
2. If you saw many images of tiger it’s because the tiger is the mascot of Bandung military base.
3. Gedung Sate is pronounced gay-doong sa-tay, which means literally Satay Building, because of the ‘antenna’ on the front of the building that mimics satay the food. It was a post office building at the time of Dutch Colonization and became the city’s icon ever since.
4. The unique and artistic design of many Bandung’s public spaces (like the city park, Cihampelas Street, etc) was a legacy of when Bandung had an architect as a mayor.
5. Not only a cultural and artistic town, Bandung is also known for amazing local foods that’s rarely known internationally. Rendang and nasi goreng have gained their popularity but you would be surprise with how diverse and delicious Bandung culinary experience is.
6. The pictures you saw on the park were portraits of Bandung mayors then and now.

this is my hometown. if you visit bandung you definitely wanna go to Lembang, Dago, and Trans Studio, also eat a lot Batagor kering with peanut sauce in Lembang area beacuse no one else across indonesia can make batagor as good as we do, but pls only eat them when still warm. chance you won't forget the taste of bandung after that

come to Pacitan, there are many natural beaches there not many foreign tourists know that place but I advise you to look at the tour on the map first.. the prices for food and drinks are still reasonable there

Actually there's rhino in Java. You might want to Google Ujung Kulon National Park. In the most western part of Java. And it's a cool eco tourism spot. I think it's an endemic habitat of Javanese rhino. But yes sadly they are endangered species now

Oh I forgot one more food that you should try while you in Bandung, that is serabi, in my opinion serabi / surabi / soerabi is like martabak "little brother in law".
There are many kind of topings that you can choose. I hope you like it.
I think the famous cafe from dutch time you looked for is “Braga Permai”, and it’s not what you went to in this video. Braga Permai serves food. The place have tables outdoor with big red umbrella above the tables.

Next journey to Puncak and Sukabumi before going to Prambanan Temple and Borobudur Temple. In Puncak, you have to go to Taman Safari. There are various kinds of animals throughout Indonesia.

by the way, eventhough Bandung is nice, but avoid weekend on Bandung. On weekend just stay at your hotel room.. since the traffic will be crazy.. it's even crazier than Jakarta's traffic on the weekend..

İ think you miss some famous touristic places in Bandung
1. Cibadak and Sudirman streetfood it serves a lot of local food while Braga serves more like international food
2. Bandung New Market (Pasar Baru) and Dalem Kaum Shopping street it's like the big shopping area in Bandung. You can find cheap things with good quality
3. Alun - Alun Bandung (Like city square of Bandung) you can see Big Mosque there
