Hes even more “indonesian” than me, dipping crackers to the mie kocok soup, eating with hand, and he ate sambel as well. What im proud of is, he pronounced Bandung correctly, unlike many other foreigner.
People can say Bandung or any city on Earth as they like. There's no "the correct way"
@@thanosal-titan are you daft? Ok Al Tit. Good luck selling that nonsense.
@@thanosal-titan there's no correct way huh?. of course there is, that's how the 'local' people how to 'say it'
@The King huh?

This is one of the few Indonesian Street Food journeys I can appreciate.
The Sundanese appear to take pride in their cuisine and their cooking environment.

I have ended up binge watching the videos on you channel!? I am learning to appreciate how people throughout the world live and consume their local foods. This area reminds me of my travels through Mexico, Canada, the USA, Europe, and the Mediterranean Basin, while living in Europe. Each Culture has their own ways of living. Thank you for all of the efforts over the years of showing us how others live and eat.
I will never watch your show again Luke, i am so hungry now after seeing this episode and i want some Indonesian food right now !!! I am joking but men that food is looking amazing ! Thank you for taking us to Bandung !
🤣🤣
It doesn't look good. It is good. Food vendors in Bandung do know how to make good food
Wilujeng Sumping❤️ welcome to Bandung, one of the culinary heaven in Indonesia.
Indon overproud tiap ada bule bikin konten indon langsung pada norak
Yes, cheese and chocolate are going very well together for dessert. It is one of the most preferred flavours/toppings in Indonesia. And people are so sceptical about it until they try it. 🤣🤣
Watching.. Full support here 🇵🇭🇰🇼...
It's the first time I've seen food vlogger as knowledgeable as you man, your description of the food you ate are spot on and great picks too on the restaurant

Sate is definitely reminiscent of Southeast Asian food, I almost drooled when I saw it!
That stinky beans looks so special. I wonder what it smells like. Is it really stinky?
Sundanese roast chicken with rice is absolutely delicious, all the food in that restaurant looks delicious!
You dare to eat frogs, I really admire, you really have courage!
Glad you still remember Taiwanese desserts and you're right, usually Douhua is sweet and tofu is salty! Douhua is amazing!
The last Martabak Manis is so charming, I would like to eat it even if I will get fat, thank you for your introduction and sharing! 👍🤩🙌
Thanks Gianni! I think you’d like to frogs too!
@@LukeMartin You are most welcome, thanks to you too!
I like that story ~ The Frog Prince, so yes, I like frogs, I don't eat frogs! 😆
Its called Stinky Beans because Its gonna Stinky in the bathroom after you eat that...
But Its acquired taste though
@@koriharyono5238 thanks for letting me know!
@@giannishen there is another kind that taste better, Made from dogfruit...but the aftermath on the bathroom is worse than when you eat stinky beans
Stinky Beans/petai is lightweight compared to dogfruit/jengkol
Great review from you... as Indonesian, seeing you eating and embrace our food especially from Bandung, makes me want to eat all of those food. Keep up the video man
Although it’s quite common in Chinese Indonesian food, not all of us are familiar with the frog dish, swikee. The name comes from Hokkien 水雞 which means “water chicken” as people would always say “It tastes like chicken!” 😅

wowwww.. bandung food paradiso
Hey Luke, so happy to see your vid and that you made it to my second favourite city in Java. Thank you for pronouncing it Bun-Doong and not Ban-Dung as in poo. I’ve been going there since I was 14 years old ! One of the best things about living in Australia is how easy it is to get to SE Asia. Another word for frog in Indonesian is Kodok as they sit in their little moats and ponds, singing “kodok, kodok….kodok, kodok”And lastly my man, not wanting to be ‘that guy’ they weren’t Kafir Limes (which you cannot squeeze) they were Kalamansi ! And always squeeze them through a fork or even your fingers so you don’t pollute your noodles with four or five indigestible bitter bullets that will ruin your entire bowl.
Haha. Australians the southern neighbors who are often able to speak Bahasa Indonesia.
Actually people here often want to go to Australia too. But you know the economy here is not as good as Australia's. Going there is expensive, particularly for most Indonesians.
NB: I'm Indonesian.
Overall very good pronunciations. Just watched a video of a guy who said he lived in Indonesia 2 years but pronounced nasi bungkus as Bunk-us. Good tip. I pick the seeds out before squeezing.
Swike is bastardised Teochew/Hokkien word "Chui Kay". Direct translation is Water Chicken
Hello Luke how are u?. Wow! Indonesian street food look really delicious.
