When/for what reason do you decide to hone the nikasil cylinders? I own a 82R100RT/48k miles and I'm about to ship the heads to a machine shop that works on bmw heads. What I'm trying to figure out is if to replace the piston rings and if I need to hone the cylinders if I replace the rings. Thank you!

Using the correct hone on Nikasil ensures the rings will seat and oil consumption will be low.
@@BrooksAirheadGarage do you have a link for what hone tool you used?
Just click the link in the video description under the video pane. It will take you to my web page about this work.
What is the number on the piston that is close to the intake pocket?
Cam, I have no idea.
