Its really the subtle comedy that you bring to your videos that really makes you a cut above the rest. I personally dgaf about presentation quality as long as its informative and i get a good chuckle. Truly my most shocking take
Been using my Obsidian's with a whole bunch of different mice and I've been loving my 303SE on a Superglide pad with them, a little bit of slow down after like three weeks but they're still absolutely buttery
All PTFE will have a break in period on glass. The PTFE isn't 100% perfectly flat so it wears down in some places more than other with big skates on a hard surface. On some skates this is more noticeable than others but it happens on all of them. This is probably what happened during those 3 weeks. Once that part is over and more surface area is making contact with your pad the wear will slow down drastically and the feet stay consistent in my experience.
Bought this without much reviews out there because they were on sale to go with my Atlantis mini, great feet imo. I don't even use them for glass pads, I use it with a Aqua Control II and its great.
@nyphon How does it feels, I also use atlantis mini and Aqua Control ll black. I’m about to change my feet but still can’t choose between Obsidian and Corepad pro I feel like the Atlantis Mini stock is scratching my pad, does obsidian feel smoother and move easier? Thanks.
I've tried both the obsidian and jades, really like both of them but prefer jades as I don't use my Skypad that much at the moment. Also think they are really good value, I bought the dot versions and you get 40 dots for $5.99.. Used to always use tiger ice but have swapped over to the jade skates on most of my mice.
Jade dots are my new favorite skates. I like them a lot cus they don't feel sticky when changing directions and like u said insane value for what you get

hi boardzy, this has little to nothing to do with your video, but I found out that if you pour rubbing alcohol all over a shitty cloth mousepad and use it while its still wet the friction is stupidly low, like from mudpad to spin about as well as a hardpad kinda difference. My jug is 99 percent and I used some fresh out the package corepads.

You really want harder skates, i got some soft ones and just a couple months later i already see big wear marks on them, some of the wear is so deep that is almost scratches the plastic around when i move my mouse.
The skates seem nice and I will say thank god they sell them in packages of two. The QC on the skates is terrible; one pair of skates I received in the two pack was a waste because they were not cut completely correct for my gpx2
Hello dear blogger! Please answer, your opinion in a combination of neon pro mousepad + this obsidian skates? Play in cs2, mouse gpx, now use tiger ice 2…I'm worried that it will be too slow for me. GL HF
These xraypads are the first aftermarket skates for Lamzu Thorn. I've just been waiting for anybody to make some aftermarket options since the stock feet are mid. Here's hoping the Jades I ordered are the last feet I ever have to put on.
@@bezellikthey're not bad skates, just not exceptional - they have an annoying scratchiness that i've seen multiple people complan about, and they're not as fast as I'd like. I haven't tried atlantis so i can't say if they are the same or different.
Love your videos and I need help I'm thinking of getting a Logitech g pro x superlight and the steelseries apex tkl wl 2023 should I get an other keyboard tkl or 75% or I other mouse
I tried the dot variant of the obsidian skates on my skypad 3 and i absolutely hated them. They are much louder than any other PTFE skate and feel super scratchy with a ton of static friction but low dynamic friction which makes them really hard to control. On top of that they're affected by dust on the pad really badly. Corepads so much nicer than the obsidians. With corepads you get pretty much the opposite experience: a very smooth and quiet glide, very low static friction and a bit more dynamic friction. I much prefer that. And corepads aren't even expensive if you get the DIY universal skates, I'm pretty sure one pack of those will last longer than one pack of obsidians because of how many mouse skates you can make with the DIY skates. But honestly anything I tried felt much better to me than the obsidians on glass. Even if I just stick tape to the bottom of my mouse or use self made skates out of PVC... I don't get why the obsidian skates are so hyped.
How many dot configurations did you try? That affects the friction and scratchy feeling a lot. I haven’t found any skates not affected by dust on glass pads that kinda comes with the territory
@@boardzy i tried 4 dots each in one corner, 6 dots evenly spread across the bottom of the mouse and then I also cut two dots in half and put one half in each corner. The dots cut in half felt the best, they were the least scratchy but still pretty bad imo. And yeah with corepads I can feel dust aswell whenever there's some on the pad but with the obsidians dust feels 10x worse.
ok, i gave the obsidian dots another chance because I heard that they got an unusually long break in period. So I scratched them up with sand paper and then polished them by moving my mouse around on my glass pad with a lot of pressure and now I actually like them. They're pretty smooth and quiet. Not as quiet as fresh core pads but more quiet then old corepads. And the high amount of static friction is gone, too. Assuming the skates stay this way I might actually prefer them over corepads.

Ive tried v2s on multiple mice without knowing and cant really come up with any noticeable differences off the top of my head, probably just slightly higher quality blend+adhesive
So is the material is "harder" than the jades? Used the jade version for a short time.. had to dump it as the material is too soft for my use, you can feel it compresses when I click and drag stuff and that adds up friction
I think by saying that the material is a "harder PTFE blend" they refer to the scratch and indentation hardness being higher than normal PTFE. What you're talking about is elasticity which is also a type of hardness (rebound hardness). I have the obsidians as dots skates and the scratch hardness and the indentation hardness are a bit harder than other skates like corepad or tiger ice. By the way that's not objectively a good thing, a skate that has higher scratch hardness also feels scratchier in use which is why i prefer corepads. But what you are talking about is the rebound hardness (elasticity) and it feels pretty much the same to me on all skates that I tried including the obsidian dots, its not really noticeable (haven't tried the jades). Maybe the obsidian dots feel a tiny bit more bouncy than other skates when resetting the mouse on a glass pad because the dot variant got an air pocket in the center. But I can't make them compress by pressing down on the mouse on a glass pad. However if I use the obsidian dots on a cloth pad instead they do sink into the pad more easily because the surface area of the skates is smaller. But that's the same with all dot skates.
Anyone with 1 month review of the obsidian dots? Will be using on an ac2 (just tell me if its better than superlight 2 stock ptfe or not and will it last at least 3 months or no)
i have the superlight 2 with a artisan Hein mousepad do you know which skates are best? i ordered corepad that you showed in your superlight 2 update video and was wondering if those are good and better than the stock skates or is there even better skates i can get?
Im waiting for the arc2 for the gpx2...Much better then the corepad Skates or Stock Skates, because they are thicker (no scratchy Feeling by Pressung on the gsr2 and more Uniform gliding. Im Testing the x raypad Obsidian and ICE V2 next days
Not all PTFE is the same. There are many brands putting out 100% PTFE skates, by your logic they would all be identical, which is obviously not the case
i have the razer atlas glass pad, do you think these would still work well? the “frosted” texture of the skates makes it seem like it wouldn’t be a good pair since the atlas has a frosted texture as well.

Will be using on an ac2
(just tell me if its better than superlight 2 stock ptfe or not and will it last at least 3 months or no)
Clearly better i use the dots on my skypad never going back
i have the superlight 2 with a artisan Hein mousepad do you know which skates are best? i ordered corepad that you showed in your superlight 2 update video and was wondering if those are good and better than the stock skates or is there even better skates i can get?
Im waiting for the arc2 for the gpx2...Much better then the corepad Skates or Stock Skates, because they are thicker (no scratchy Feeling by Pressung on the gsr2 and more Uniform gliding. Im Testing the x raypad Obsidian and ICE V2 next days
u know an y good skates for plastic pads
the jades are good for plastic ones
How can there be a "higher quality" of 100% PTFE? 100% is max. :D
There's probably more to it than purity
Not all PTFE is the same. There are many brands putting out 100% PTFE skates, by your logic they would all be identical, which is obviously not the case
I’m 100% human but there’s a lot of ppl better than me
Skypaf
skypaf
@@smurfierl skypaf? Its skypaf😭😭😭😭😭
i have the razer atlas glass pad, do you think these would still work well? the “frosted” texture of the skates makes it seem like it wouldn’t be a good pair since the atlas has a frosted texture as well.
I'll be testing out this combination soon ordered some obsidian control skates for the pulsar x2 boardzy edition
i tried these and they felt so scratchy on my skypad, i liked the corepads more in terms of feel
